+1 for Nor Cal. I'm out there almost yearly for a few weeks in Napa Valley and Sacramento. Some amazing stuff out there. Funny the lady and I are planning a trip out that way now. Hoping to hit some of San Diego as well.

Full garage now. The SV is coming along! The 1125 is back on the road. A new EBR front end and a lot of other goodies. More to come as well.

Damn. Any idea when this is happening? I was going to try to make it out there a few times this summer since I'll be moving substantially closer. That would be a big impact on the moto community if it was closed off to the public. A bad decision imo.

Thanks all for the input!!! A LOT of killer "special buy" deals on there. But nothing I found for her, lots of stuff I wanted though lol. I settled on the sedici pants and grabbed her a set of waterproof gloves from cycle gear. I figure come spring we can save up and get her a nice jacket, until then I snagged one cheap locally. I got the Mona pants and gloves for %20 0ff plus %10 off of that and free shipping. The gear has a lifetime warranty too so that's nice. Either way, it's basically just to keep her warm and safe until she can decide what gear she really wants and save up for it.

Same as everyone else has been saying. If you are looking for a carver ducati between the duc and fj. Don't rule out the fz series though. Even then at face value I would still say ducati over the fz due to its sub-par suspension in that particular match up. But. For the money you will have in it, I vote neither. Grab an FZ and put the money you saved not buying the duc into suspension work. Then you will have a great handling bike perfectly capable of handling ling trips as well as an excellent and reliable engine. Not to mention less expensive to own and easier to work on yourself than the ducati as well. That's what I would do.

We were at iron pony this lasr weekend and I had her try on a bunch of stuff but they really didnt have much leather gear there. Seemed like everything they had was textile or mesh. Kind of disapointing.

Hey, so Christmas shopping for the lady, I have a few ideas. She's just starting out in the last year but is now comfortable enough to start riding more aggressively. So time for a good leather jacket/pants/boots. She already has nice gloves and helmets. I came across cycle gear's sedici line last year looking for a new rrack suit, and I wasn't too impressed for that level of riding. But for a beginner or used as casual riding gear, I feel like it's a pretty good bargain. I can snag her essentially a 2 piece suit for a good price, something well enough to start out with that her skills can grow into comfortably. A few guys I know were running Sedici suits at the gap this summer, they seemed impressed with the quality/price combo. I go through a lot of tires.. I'm used to spoonin' it out but if it saves me some effort I wouldn't mind picking up a tire changer from Harbor Freight, x<$100 when they're on sale. I've never used one, and really not sure how much easier it would be than the spoons. I've read a lot of mixed reviews on the hardware. Many either super positive or super negative. Does anyone here have any real first hand experience with one? Above term "easier" is read as; "less time consuming". lol Ride safe damn we have a lot of cool smileys here! Neat.

I'm going to go ahead and throw some suggestions out there Jacob, vfr or a FZ. Not too far off from what you're used to but a good bit sportier. Atgatt!

Soo, gsxr swap is happening on the SV, it should be done by the end of next week. I'll do a decent writeup depending on what all will be involved, but it should be all plug and play. The xb has been properly flogged and abused this past week. All the chicken strips have been vehemently removed and the bike was given a warm welcome to some 600 miles of the roads of southern Ohio. I forgot how brilliantly wonky the XB is. Dear god am I glad to have one again. This one is a keeper methinks.
