  1. This is what happens when you get bored and amazon.
  2. What is this 555 that you speak of? Have fun. I know my opinion is biased, but I'm not a fan of it. Check out the Triple Nickel Diner at Chesterhill. Great local food!
  3. I would say the opposite. Had a Cortech tank lock system. It was okay, nothing great. I don't care for the SW-Motech system with the little pull tab. In the hundreds for fuel ups with the Tanklock system, I've never had an issue, and I've never had the bag even come loose.
  4. I looked into the SW-Motech Blaze saddlebag system. Very nice, but pricey. The way it mounts makes it easily removable.
  5. I use a Givi Tanklock tankbag that doesn't touch the tank. If that doesn't suit your needs, check out the Nelson Rigg CL-1060 S or ST. I have a ST and it has enough room for a full size lunch box.
  6. Rode down to New River Gorge, WV today on the FJR. 350 miles of nothing but twisties.
  7. The truck on high street. Never heard about it until @what told me about it one day after go karts.
  8. Got tomorrow off work. Who wants to go ride? Most likely going to be riding the FJR since the tires on the MT are toast.
  9. Ohio? Ray Ray's in Columbus. You're welcome.
  10. Just finished working on a CRF250X. First time I've rode a dirt bike in a long time. Kinda made me wish I had something for offroad...
  11. For those who are fans of Krambonz BBQ, I am sorry to inform you that they have closed. It is now a pizza shack. This year will be a quest for the best BBQ in the smokies
  12. THIS. It still amazes me of some of the cobbled up shit that I see brought to my garage from people who previously used "reputable shop mechanics"
  13. Rode the MT to work today. Trying to get the rear tire to last until time to leave for the Gap trip. 1600 miles and it is into the wear bars.
  14. Welcome! Check out the Deals Gap Trip thread. A bunch of us will be heading down later in June.
  15. Indian is usually a 2 day ship, unless backordered.
  16. Dang, I'm about to put my third shifter peg on. I only get about 20k out of one. 10k then rotate and another 10k.
  17. I helped build the tire change program at the dealership I work at. We charge $90/tire on the bike, $65/tire carry in. This pricing was after many conversations with the owner. We wanted a flat rate for all bikes, so some it seems pricey but others it seems like a bargain.
  18. Walked in to work and saw my old BMW in the showroom. Haven't seen it since the day I traded in it. The new owner must not have put too many miles on it, it looked like it still had the Angel GT front I put on it 4 years ago ?
  19. For those who are riding down, what day are you going down, and what day? @thompsonian and I will be rolling south Wednesday and arriving at Townsend that evening. I am between a couple routes right now, just unsure if I wanna do a 500+ mile day of twisties on the way down, or add some slab and get there quicker
  20. Had a 620 mile ride home yesterday on the FJR. Got the bright idea to go up through Delaware and across Washington. Big mistake. Took me 4 hours to go 90 miles. So today I had off work, got the MT buttoned up in touring trim. New set of Road 5s ordered to throw on it before the Gap trip.
  21. Lol, this is why people believe it should cost so much. Harley bagger tires are simple IMO. Yes, I load them on the lift table by myself.2 straps and a scissor lift get the rear tire off with no issue. Saddlebags are literally 2 quick turn fasteners The tire mounting on a Harley 16 inch wheel is a freaking cake walk compared to a sportbike. Belt adjustment, which is usually needed, is super simple with the correct tool. Now the LED lighting stuff is the bullshit I can't stand. It's never done clean and no one seems to want to use a quick disconnect stuff.
  22. I'm gonna do some testing this weekend... It's a tough job but someone's gotta do it.
  23. Made it to Virginia Beach. 490 miles through the WV mountains and across 64. Got rained on for 4 hours. Overall, not a bad ride.
  24. Installed led flashing brake lights and led headlights in the FJR. Got another windshield for the MT and got it installed as well. FJR is packed and I'm heading for virginia beach tomorrow around noon after work.
