  1. Rode the MT to work today. Trying to get the rear tire to last until time to leave for the Gap trip. 1600 miles and it is into the wear bars.
  2. Welcome! Check out the Deals Gap Trip thread. A bunch of us will be heading down later in June.
  3. Indian is usually a 2 day ship, unless backordered.
  4. Dang, I'm about to put my third shifter peg on. I only get about 20k out of one. 10k then rotate and another 10k.
  5. I helped build the tire change program at the dealership I work at. We charge $90/tire on the bike, $65/tire carry in. This pricing was after many conversations with the owner. We wanted a flat rate for all bikes, so some it seems pricey but others it seems like a bargain.
  6. Walked in to work and saw my old BMW in the showroom. Haven't seen it since the day I traded in it. The new owner must not have put too many miles on it, it looked like it still had the Angel GT front I put on it 4 years ago ?
  7. For those who are riding down, what day are you going down, and what day? @thompsonian and I will be rolling south Wednesday and arriving at Townsend that evening. I am between a couple routes right now, just unsure if I wanna do a 500+ mile day of twisties on the way down, or add some slab and get there quicker
  8. Had a 620 mile ride home yesterday on the FJR. Got the bright idea to go up through Delaware and across Washington. Big mistake. Took me 4 hours to go 90 miles. So today I had off work, got the MT buttoned up in touring trim. New set of Road 5s ordered to throw on it before the Gap trip.
  9. Lol, this is why people believe it should cost so much. Harley bagger tires are simple IMO. Yes, I load them on the lift table by myself.2 straps and a scissor lift get the rear tire off with no issue. Saddlebags are literally 2 quick turn fasteners The tire mounting on a Harley 16 inch wheel is a freaking cake walk compared to a sportbike. Belt adjustment, which is usually needed, is super simple with the correct tool. Now the LED lighting stuff is the bullshit I can't stand. It's never done clean and no one seems to want to use a quick disconnect stuff.
  10. I'm gonna do some testing this weekend... It's a tough job but someone's gotta do it.
  11. Made it to Virginia Beach. 490 miles through the WV mountains and across 64. Got rained on for 4 hours. Overall, not a bad ride.
  12. Installed led flashing brake lights and led headlights in the FJR. Got another windshield for the MT and got it installed as well. FJR is packed and I'm heading for virginia beach tomorrow around noon after work.
  13. Sounds like more of a fitment issue than an issue with Sena. Correct if I am wrong, cause I know very little about Bell helmets, but isn't the Star a race fit helmet? I would assume if it is, it wasn't designed for any kind of speaker installation. I have had my issues with Sena for other reasons, but I've looked at the competition and no brand is perfect.
  14. I installed a new set of roadsmarts on the FJR and did some much needed cleaning on both bikes. FJR is now prepped and ready to go for my trip to Virginia Beach this weekend. The MT has been getting all the attention, so now it's time for the FJR to do what it does best, eat up miles and miles of twistys all day long.
  15. Had the day off work. Picked up my new seat for the MT. Went out and ripped around this morning. This bike just makes me smile everytime I ride it. The new seats makes it more bearable.
  16. Every time I watch your videos, I get more interested in an ADV/Dual Sport. Someday....
  17. There is some truth to this. Technically before a motorcycle is ever test rode a pre delivery inspection must be done, which includes checking several torques on axles, steering components, etc. Usually takes like 15 minutes for our shop guys.
  18. What brand are you looking for, I may be able to recommend a reputable one.
  19. The dealership I work at will roll any machine off the showroom floor for a test ride. Just need proof of endorsement for a bike. Heck I had a guy drive around a brand new turbo charged side by side today through our field.
  20. From the amount of people I talked to at the ride, it sounds like we are going to have a nice turnout for the Gap Trip.
  21. What a great ride. Glad to see some familiar faces, and some new ones. Thank you to the Anonymous donation for the pizza/refreshments.
  22. I have the same issue. Ended up getting a set of Held gauntlet gloves in size 9 with short finger length. Fits perfect.
  23. Do the service yourself. Better yet invest in a service manual and never use the dealer other than warranty.
