    Advanced Rider Course

I'm signed up for the 4/11 session at WSCC in Marietta. So far I'm the only one. Three weeks remaining. Suspect I'll end up in one of the later sessions. One other person is signed up for the May session.

    Hi all

    Welcome to the forum!
  3. Welcome! I'd ask for / insist on pics but I'm worried that the puddles of drool would short out my laptop. Chris
  4. CORRECTION: Need to attend son's 30th BDay. Have fun guys! Sign me up. Medium group, or slow if the group size works better.
  5. Nice Bike! Welcome, and please try to come to the Spring Epic Ride, May 16, starting in Zanesville. http://ohioriders.net/index.php?/topic/106670-2015-epic-ride-spring-organization-inputs/page-6 Chris
  6. I bought the HF trailer over the weekend. It was an extra $40 off with a coupon - expires 3/8/15. Does anybody here know the hitch height needed to keep the trailer level? I'll need to get a drawbar with a pretty big rise and would prefer to get that when I order the hitch - since they don't have many options in the stores around here. 4/16/15 EDIT: The height needed at the top of the bar/bottom of the ball is 14". This means the ball mount bar that came with my Hidden Hitch is at just the right height.

Welcome mac! This is a good forum with people from different parts of the biking world. Yes, most are sport bike riders but there are lots of others and it seems that all are welcome. Please try to visit one of the "epic" rides. There you'll get to see a range of bikes and everybody's interested in talking.Check the folder on the main page that lists Rides & Events for info on the spring ride that is still in planning. Hope to see you there! Chris
  8. Here you go. I only took this one - didn't see your request till 2 days after I was there. My dad had that exact same Yamaha 1975 XS-650. ... and neglect to post them! Oops, Forgot that I got this one too. A consultant I work with has one of these.
  9. I complete agree that people who are fighting immunizations are fools and are being socially irresponsible. . However, I'm old enough (barely) to remember the days before the MMR vaccine and, yes, parents DID purposefully expose their kids to measles. The malady was considered to be inevitable.
  10. JB, As IP noted, it's one day. I don;t think they set the date yet. The organizer is considering a change but more than a few are asking for the same location and same route. Approx 130 mile loop starting/ending in Logan, OH. See this link. http://ohioriders.net/index.php?/topic/105711-unofficial-fall-epic-ride-saturday-september-27/ Last year several from Cincy and Dayton areas met up in Springfield. Several of those stayed for dinner at the Millstone. Probably got home rather late, Check this folder for the meetup threads. Hope you can make it.
  11. AHA !!! That's where you set the silly comment thingy...

  12. Vanning up there EARLY Saturday with a bunch of guys from Parkersburg/Marietta, mostly members of MTSA.
  13. Welcome! I think you'll like the street even better this spring.
  14. Greetings Spyker. Welcome to the forum! There are some nice roads from DC to Ohio. But you might want to wait for warmer weather. I ride in the winter but right now it's nasty. Brrr. Chris
  15. Any GPS systems seem to eat power like crazy. I like to use CoPilot since the maps are preloaded which will save data use. This might be more involved than you were looking for, but I installed a cig lighter/USB socket in a tank bag then connected it to the battery using a 12-volt connector that came with my battery tender. The tank bag is a SW-Motech that mounts to a ring on the tank cap so that it never touches the paint on the tank. This version of the tank bag has a clear window - touch screen film so you can mount the phone in the bag, connected to the power and still see it, and use the screen. I found the cig/USB adapter at WalMart in the RV section. It looks sort of like the one in the link below but only has one cigarette socket, does not have the male socket end (the unit I found was direct wire) and it cost less. Also, It is made to be mounted to a dash, or in this case to the baseboard of the tank bag. http://www.amazon.com/adapter-cigarette-lighter-splitter-MRS152UV/dp/B003RQBKLC Then I needed to extend the wires to get to the tender connector to the battery so I got an extension like the following, but at Autozone - also in the RV section. http://www.amazon.com/CES-Gauge-Quick-Disconnect-Harness/dp/B0057ZQJ12/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1420409266&sr=8-3&keywords=12+Volt+Connectors I use a Sena SMH10R headset in my helmet which uses Bluetooth so I don't need any wires to the helmet. I got that mainly to have intercom with the wife.
  16. Do. Or Do Not. There is no try.
  17. Ummm... Neither of those steers would have been interested. They'd have been more likely to have moseyed down to join the cows (&heifers) for a good gossip session. :moo: :moo: http://www.wikihow.com/Tell-the-Difference-Between-Bulls%2C-Cows%2C-Steers-and-Heifers
