    Tire Mystery

Is the new seat closer to the older GL1800 plushness? My wife and I sat on a 2023 wing and she hated the seat. I don’t believe I can purchase a newer model unless I swapped out the seat.
  2. I’ve grown to like the highway pegs. With the wife on board we typically are just cruising around at 65ish on a 2 lane and corner pretty slow. Those highway pegs make me a little more laid back. I did adjust them up a bit today. Definitely gained some clearance. Hopefully no more touchdowns as long as they’re in the upright position. Even with her on board I typically flip them up for twisties.
  3. Could you wrap the wood grain in black? I’ve never wrapped anything but maybe worth a shot. Do those rotor covers come off? Could eliminate some more chrome pretty quick I’d think.
  4. Completed the tire change on the CBR. Once again no wheel weights and she runs smooth up to at least 120. Dunlap for sure has some mold release agent on the tire. I left the drive for my test run, with no lean I grabbed a bit of throttle and immediately torched the rear. I also set out to figure out what is trying to killer me when I lean the wing over hard. I discovered it. Should have been obvious since they are the objects farthest out. Stacked boards clear everything else with ease. @Tonik I know this is not exactly what you were doing at the lumberyard but you gave me an idea. Thanks.
  5. 292 miles, not bad for a 5 hour trip Even had time and energy to change the rear tire this evening
  6. Probably worth your money to get a machine to mount tires yourself no?
  7. half helmet is a must for me on anything over 70 degrees
  8. The vent was a must for me. I need air on my face. I was always uncomfortable last year. The vent has made a huge difference.
  9. Jealous. I’ve been too busy to break away for a full day. Hopefully soon. Have fun buddy. Keep the rubber side down.
  10. Is this a 2 person job? I’m thinking you need one person to lean it up in another person to be looking at what’s going to drag first. I’m not 100% on how you’re doing this.
  11. That sucks. There goes my thoughts of should’ve bought a Honda.
  12. That’s crazy. I often expect it on 250, but I’ve never encountered much on 7.
  13. Where are the pictures of this car? I like cars too.
  14. You said money was of no concern. What’s the hold up on this?
  15. I actually use the trailer’s jack to raise my trailer in the front to lower the ramp on my open trailer.
  16. Leonard truck and trailer should have what you need. https://www.leonardtrailers.com/
  17. This is what I found for the GL1800. Crazy stuff to me, but it explains why I always feel the need to use both brakes when 2 up. Thanks @Pauly for the edumacation.
  18. Do you know if this is true for all Goldwings?
  19. A lot of work just to replace a stupid valve stem, but it’s done. I screwed up the Shorty valve stem that I bought at the motorcycle shop yesterday. So I just installed a normal 1-1/4” stem. Sorry to disappoint you boys. On a positive note, this thing is still a riot to ride. Pre-ride self talk was ”hey take it easy, you haven’t been on this bike in a while”. Pull out of the driveway, the bike starts making fun of me. “You’re afraid to do a wheelie?” Yes, she talks to me and makes fun of me at times. Of course I showed her who was boss 😜. The only problem with the ride was it was way too short. Just a quick run uptown to grab an in-line fuse for the 12 V power supply on the wing and a trip to the post office. I need a Southeast Ohio run like none other. I’m not sure how I feel about my wife always wanting to ride with me nowadays. I miss out on some of those free Saturdays I used to have.
  20. I just grabbed a short rubber stem from the local motorcycle shop. I’ve never had too much trouble on the CBR getting to it. Thank the Lord however for 90 degree stems on the Wing.
