  1. It was a fast pace for a heavy tourer for sure, but I would prefer to scrape a peg over the stand. The first time it happened I felt just a little scrape. I wasn’t sure what it was. The second time it happened I felt the rear end get very disturbed. I then recognized I had an issue. With the Concours when I touched down with a peg I could easily lean out and continue a line. When that stand touches there isn’t much to adjusting a line you just kinda go straight. It’s a good thing I was running tight to the center on the second touch down and the final one. Let’s just say there may be more than one skidmark. One on the road and I won’t mention where the other might be.
  2. I thought about taking a grinder to it. It scares the crap out of me because she stops turning and starts to run wide.
  3. I had to attend a meeting in Mount Vernon today. Great excuse to get better acquainted with the Goldwing. Nobody ever mentioned the lack of wind on your face behind the a Goldwing fairing. Hence the old man open face helmet. I drug some hard parts multiple times on left handers. I think it’s the center stand. You can see shiny metal on the front edge of the foot to the center stand. Scary stuff. I increased the preload and it seemed to help but I still touched down. It’s a bit unnerving when it drags because it doesn’t fold up like a peg does. I’m not sure what’s up. A Google search doesn’t turn up anything so I’m guessing it’s not common.
  4. This sucks. Sorry to hear this. Glad it wasn’t worse. Praying for a speedy recovery.
  5. We’ll do a wing ride in here in the future. I don’t have any free Saturdays until the end of the month though. I never thought I’d hear this from you. I’ve only rode with you twice and both times you have left me in your dust when you wanted to. Sorry about the spill and hope you get back out there soon. I’m sure I’ll post more rides in the future and hope to ride with you again.
  6. I posted over a week before I planned to ride. My above quote stated my intentions were to start in Cadiz. I left it open to try to get some people to join. Not sure what more I should’ve done 🤷‍♂️.
  7. Sure did buddy. It was a solo ride though. Sorry I didn’t hear anything from you so I figured you weren’t interested.
  8. If you tough it out to Marr I believe it is you get rewarded with some fresh, new asphalt. The new asphalt starts right around where 537 comes in. If they’d open 537 it would be a great route.
  9. Left the house at 7:30 home at 4:10, 473 miles. It was an awesome day. The weather was perfect. 556 and 800 out of Fly were my favorites for today.
  10. We can do a Goldwing ride in the future and you can leave me in the dust on my old wing. I haven’t really had the CBR out this year. My plan is to get reacquainted and my guess is by the end of the day I might be moving at a rather brisk pace.
  11. Anybody interested in a ride next Saturday? I’ll be on the CBR. I’m thinking of running 9 south out of Cadiz to 148 to 145 to 556 to the river and then bounce up down off the river. I’m open to running a route similar to what I ran in May if it helps some of you that would be coming from the west. If you plan to ride make sure you’re comfortable at a fast pace. I’m not looking to ride at triple digits but my guess is the pace will be brisk
  12. Next pic in front of a body of water
  13. Rode the CBR for 300 miles this morning. I love this bike.
  14. Rode 151 East out of Jewett to Rt 7. Pretty nice road. If you’re in the area definitely worth the ride. The only problem is once you hit 7 I’m not sure what the best connector would be to continue South. If you head north 213 is a possibility.

Glad you fixed that moron’s mistake

Thanks for the clarification. I was concerned something was up with the bike or something bad went down. I’m glad you’re OK and not getting soft on us. Speed safely.
  17. Spent 3 hrs on the Goldwing with my wife this evening. Close to 140 miles. Definitely not my normal pace but I think my wife now realizes what she has been missing when I’m gone for hours. Both of us had a blast.

    I need help understanding.
  19. I saw stuff like this and canopies on Goldwings as I searched for mine.
  20. So far I’ve been impressed with the suspension. I haven’t pushed it to even the Concourse level yet but what I have done it’s stuck to the ground like glue.
  21. Now hold up you young whippersnapper, I still have the CBR. This purchase was to make the wife comfortable. It was tough to see the Connie go. I thoroughly enjoyed riding that bike for all types of riding. I have a feeling I will have another one in the future. They are pretty easy to come by on the cheap side as well because nobody knows what they are.
  22. You all are putting down some miles. Nice
