  1. Is it open tonight? haven't seen any posts
  2. lower rad hose is cold coolant going into engine, upper is hot coolant going into radiator (unless you have a reverse flow engine that cools heads first). If thermostat is stuck the upper would be cold. Since it was extra cold today I would expect the lower to feel "cold", so it sounds normal to me. BTW, what condition is the coolant in? I just had to flush radiator in my jeep because the coolant was rusty and causing the thermostat to stick.
  3. if it is air in the system it is probably stuck in the heater core. drive the car with the heat blasting for 30 minutes and that should work the stuck air bubbles loose. Feel around the carpet for wet spots. If the heater core went bad and started leaking then of course you wouldn't get heat because the hot coolant is escaping somewhere. A blocked heater core would also explain the overheating as it acts similar to a stuck thermostat in keeping the coolant from circulating.
  4. Just putting this here.... http://valleywag.gawker.com/uber-and-its-shady-partners-are-pushing-drivers-into-su-1649936785 http://jalopnik.com/uber-just-got-a-failing-grade-from-the-better-business-1645622537 http://gizmodo.com/6-uber-alternatives-because-uber-is-a-bunch-of-dirtbags-1660063499/+matthardigree If a company is unethical in one area, they are usually unethical in others as well.
  5. will never happen. Not legally anyway, which means we will never see the film of it.
  6. I'm sorry but the reasons are not obvious to me. If he files through his insurance the first thing the insurance company is going to do is make a claim on the shop's insurance policy so he is only hurting himself the longer he waits. Unless he doesn't have theft coverage which again would not be obvious. If he is worried about his rates going up I highly doubt the insurance company could raise his rates since the car was not in his possession. Also, you don't need the shop to file against their insurance policy. I assume a police report was made right? that means the police should have taken down the insurance information from the shop. File directly with the ins company, don't wait for the shop to do it because they won't. There are other ways to determine the shop's insurance carrier like contacting the department of state since they are probably required to have shop insurance. It's stupid for the shop not to just file against their policy because even if ed makes a claim with his policy his insurance company is going to subrogate his rights and go after the shop because they left the car in the trailer. As another option he can just sue the shop. At that point they would have to make a claim with their insurance policy, or at least provide ed with all the information so he can make a claim directly. They were the ones who left the car unsecured and as long as he was paying them for storage they had a duty to protect the car.
  7. It's nice to know you equate Women to Dogs. I don't condone letting anybody assault anybody but violence is not the only resolution. If you think it is, then it is always going to be the path for you and it will take you places you didn't intend, like jail. The only reason this bouncer dude didn't go to jail is because someone took a video of it and posted it and it went semi-viral. Without that, NYPD and the Prosecutors office would have no problem charging him and sending him to jail. The thing I found objectionable is not whether the dude was in the right or the wrong defending himself, it is that the people here seem to delight in the fact that it was a woman who attacked him and a woman who ended up getting smacked around. If it was just another dude do you think it would even get this much attention?
  8. I don't condone violence to begin with, but the secret is not to applaud that violence was met with violence but to not be in the situation in the first place.
  9. I thought it was columbus racing but it just looks like a bunch of dudes looking for a way justify and then laugh at someone hitting a woman.
  10. See that big rectangle thing behind the guy? That's called a Door. Someone acts like that you go through it to the other train car and you don't have to deal with it. And before anybody who has never been on a NYC subway car decides to be a smartass and say well she could just go through it too, they are easier to open and also hold shut from the inside. No excuse ever for hitting a woman. Dude even said so himself: http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/nyc-crime/slapper-f-train-won-charged-sue-nyc-attorney-article-1.2008463 I'm 6'5", and was private security for clubs and bars (and yes a bouncer in some awful dives in Hells Kitchen) and I never, ever, ever had to strike a woman (although I once dragged prostitute 50 feet across a floor on her back through a disgusting crap hole bar with her skirt around her chest but I was gentle and apologized for having to do it afterwards even though she was the one fornicating in our bathroom and took a swing at me when I came in the stall). The misogyny in this thread is just sad.
  11. Kind of a shot in the dark here but I am looking for the front seats out of a 1995 to 2005 Pontiac sunfire or Chevrolet Cavalier 2dr coupe. Must be the 2 dr coupe one and not the 4dr. Also would prefer beige or tan but not that picky about color. If you have a set PM me here. If you have seen a 2dr of these cars in a yard somewhere let me know and I'll check it out.
  12. Is this the 185hp model (b204L) or the 200hp model (b204r) stock? It's a great car, I wish I could swing it as well but Xmas is right around the corner which maybe what is making people extra frugal (I know it is doing it to me). Good luck.
  13. Physically go to the shop and ask for Stephan, and then inspect some of the other work they got going on. It's a big shop by my standards but maybe a medium sized shop by ohio standards. It's a family business too as I think his mother is the parts person. I've always gotten great advice from them even if it wasn't what I wanted to hear (he's always telling me to sell my yj and buy a TJ). I find it way easier to talk to him in person than on the phone (he's always answered the phone, he's just a man of few words) plus he can give you a better estimate if he can see what you are working with.
  14. +1 for trail quest in plain city. They did my transfer case on my YJ earlier and it was top notch. I'm always amazed at what comes out if that shop, mostly TJ and JK lifts, though I did get to see him do a yj lift recently and was blown away. Tell Stephan that Kerry with the green YJ sent ya.
  15. I think the project has always been avant guard art rock/rap, but with each incarnation it's taken a different turn. Some people just feel they have to make art their own way and their art evolves as times change. I can't speak to whether they do drugs or not but I've never seen drugs make that much of a difference on the creative process other than to hinder people's music career. The band was friends with director Neill Blomkamp (district 9, chappie) which is how they ended up in the movie chappie. If Internet scuttlebutt is yo be believed waddy/ninja behaved so poorly on set they pretty much burned any bridges they had with Neill.
  16. Actually, curiosity got the better of me and did a search and there are a couple of build threads using one out of the saturn/sky car. The engine bay has the room but the one I saw that was furthest along used a whole tubular cradle because the stock oil pan won't clear the stock front subframe at all. So to do this it is massive fab, or hefty spending. Back in the day my buddy owned a 1984 Camaro ZF v6 with the f41 suspension and a 5 speed. It was a slick roof car in silver and pin straight. It was a complete dog but it handled really really well for the time and I always wondered what it would be like with decent power output.
  17. So have you guys ever heard Maxnormal TV? It's the band all the die antward members were in before. 180 degrees from where they are now but equally weird. http://youtu.be/SinwIQrYr8Y
  18. Wow, That's really good. We'll be in touch. I was planning to do this once the x-mas spending was overwith but maybe I can push it up so as not to miss out. I have to ask that is all for the 30x9.5 R15 size right?
  19. I wonder how hard it is to put one of these in a 3rd gen camaro?
  20. Hey, So planning on putting new tires on the '95 jeep wrangler in the new year, esp since the ones on it are almost 12 years old and have at least 2 cans of fix a flat in them each. I would have replaced them long ago but the tread was still great due to me not driving the car that much before. Currently I have BFG All Terrain T/A tires and I have had 3 sets of that brand since 1995. Back then I was taking the truck off road all the time, 2-3 times during the week and surfcasting at the beach on the weekends. Now it just really hauls my kid and me back and forth to school/work. At $158-185 per tire for a noisy, short wearing, but excellent off road tire they are starting to look a little too precious for a daily driver that doesn't get the off road love it used to. I was considering Goodyear silent armors but they are $168 per so that is more money than the bfg. My dad put them on his tahoe and loves them and they are quiter than the BFGs. So what else is out there that people would recommend? Firestone Destination A/T? Kuhmo? General?
  21. hey Doc, if you need someone to take out service members bikes for a ride can I volunteer? I'm licensed, insured, semi-responsible....etc.... Seriously though you are super generous for doing this. Kudos to you.
  22. The inner wheel wells rotted? or the quarter panels also? What does "branded mileage discrepancy" mean? that it physically says mileage discrepancy on the title or is it just the mileage and the speedo doesn't match up. If the front fender rotted away or just not bolted in place properly? car sounds more like a driving project than a nice driver.
