  1. Yes, at the time when the 03 Cobra's came out dealers were asking mark-ups. I got it during the price peak no haggle over the phone for X-plan which ended up being close to invoice. I ordered the car exactly how I wanted at the price I wanted. I didn't know the person, he PM'd me over at SVTP when I was deployed and said he'd be glad to give me one of his pins. He ended up meeting me at the dealer when the car arrived for pickup...
  2. Jamie do you and Kevin have similar setups and did you run any other bikes?
  3. Thanks Jamie! I'd prefer to do it at the runway event to keep things safer, controlled, etc.. I've been trying to get them to allow bikes in the shootout but no luck yet...maybe you can help them change that. No worries, we were all busy and I couldn't get out of work but on Friday night. Next time sounds great or even at one of the Ohio Mile races. You've got to turn up your bike next time... Good seeing you Alex! Get your stuff lined up so you can get an ATC gig in Houston. We can do this every year...
  4. Dover, I tried to come say hello at the Night meet but Alex said I just missed you guys. Not to mention it was getting late (I had my daughter out) and I had to get up at 4am for work. Maybe next time we can get together. How much power does your bike make? Jamie, I'm working on getting my bike finished so hopefully I can come play at some of the runway events (IF they decide to let bikes in). If not, maybe we can get something going at the Texas Mile or one of the other events if you are interested? I'm really curious what kind of bike it takes to run with a UGR Gallardo on "kill".
  5. DOVER, Can we get some info on the race with Jamie and/or video? How did it go? He bought a Yellow SL and sent it to UGR. Within a couple weeks he found a White SL that he liked better and bought it....then sold the Yellow. Peter in Houston bought the Yellow SL after UGR finished it...
  6. SW -vs- Seafish -vs- UGR Gallardo-TT "R"
  7. That's Houston for ya... :lolguy: Waiting for the new video to be finished for this year... Come on down... This happened just after I left and I'm glad. That kid was an idiot driving up and down the rows doing burnouts between cars. It was only a matter of time... Linn you need to get your ass down here for this.. Any more info on the races? ...and a GT-R meet! It really has gotten ridiculous down here. Not much thats really rare anymore...
  8. Linn are you down here??? Those prices aren't Houston...
  9. On a sticky prepped track, yes long is great when the suspension is setup properly. However, on the street the geometery is changed and the traction isn't nearly as good so it just spins. Same thing over 200mph+...drag overcomes traction and it just spins. Most of the very fast top speed bikes are short and on salt have weight added to the swingarm...
  10. I hope you have fun and do well but.....I think you are just going to spin on the hwy at that length! I hope I'm wrong and you get some good videos dragging some folks. Maybe I'll see you out if I can get away one night...
  11. I agree except for this part,....they actually do track-day/instruction courses at the Ring and you go around sections at a time learning the course. Its very neat and the instructors are amazing that do it...
  12. Not sure what other mods/fuel you have but guessing around 270whp on pump gas 93....? It's still to long for a roll race or top-end run....but it looks good! They aren't even comparable from a roll....you would need every bit of 450whp+ to run with Jamie's 2,000hp setup... Unless you are talking about a dig race, then Dover should easily win in a 1/4-mile...
  13. Notice how much shorter the bike is in Johnny's video, angle of the straps, and the fact that he's about 100lbs heavier, etc.... No worries as long as you are happy! Just don't want to see you melt it again... How many psi and what did it make?
  14. Nice choice! They are getting very popular down here...
  15. They might want to strap it down properly next time.... Who is doing the tuning?
  16. I don't see how he could make a copy without getting in a BIG lawsuit...unless he's paying some crazy rights to the original to do so...
  17. Another event coming to Texas for those that haven't seen it... http://www.houstonmile.com/ There is also a private event in DFW...
  18. Bonneville is a completley different ball of wax so probably not... ...typically drag overcomes traction for most vehicles at Bonneville and it will just spin its tires in the 200's. A long road out in the west would be a good place to test it though...
  19. I like "real".....gets old when you are two segments ahead and then all of a sudden the computer or opponent is right on your tail again and you never crashed... :dumb:
  20. BEFORE the child is allowed back at the house, he needs to get his wife in check. They need to be on the same page about the child and her punishment as well as getting her on the right track. Sounds like she hasn't learned anything from the beginning and is only going to continue until she is completely uncontrollable and eventually on her own if the cops start bringing her home... So he adopted her? If so, then he has 100% right to ground her and I would even add more time/punishment for pulling that BS and going to grandma's house. There is no "grudge" its called being responsible and sticking to his guns when the child is screwing up. She's 14, then she's old enough to know better and be punished for that crap. Sounds like the real issue is the mom and fighting two battles. If he doesn't check things now with BOTH its only going to get worse...
  21. I thought everyone knew, DO NOT USE ARMOR ALL ON ANYTHING!!! Same applies for Turtle Wax or any of those other cheap products...
