  1. I'm a bit nostalgic I guess.  But for me to buy a new Harley they'd have to first burn the EPA down and hang the bosses from trees, then drag the molds out for panheads and/or shovelheads and start building them again.  Those old Harleys are what got me going at 4 years old.  Had to have one.  Anyone who was a kid in the '70s to '80s probably saw them and have gotten into Wide Glides, Lowriders and now spend their $$$ on the twinkies more for looks than performance.

And this is what the corporate jerk-offs have made their money at.  Selling nostalgia.  I honestly think if they even took an old Suzuki water buffalo out for a spin they'd shit themselves.  To present that 750 to guys that think they want a Harley but think they also want a performance bike is signs of sure lunacy brought on by their mothers having V.D. when they gave birth!

  2. True.  If Harley has any bragging rights, it's due to people like the Vance & Hines Team.  They may have some factory support; I don't know off-hand.  HD did have Buell at one time and that went away.

Through all this they haven't learned shit.  Look...I own and ride Harleys.  I really, really like the bike.  But as a company they suck.  Greed rules within their walls.

  3. Harley does things like this because they want the younger market.  The younger market doesn't always mean they were riders before.  When it's your first bike what do you compare it with?  Your lawn tractor?

The problems stated are valid probably; never rode a 750.  Aftermarket will probably offer solutions.  And lord knows some custom builder will chop one.  Where's my antacid?

Nope, not at all.  Tomorrow is the first day I can start storing it in my car at work. So today I am unarmed.  But when I know I am going to an event where I am going to drink I don't carry period.  Just thinking ahead, like something comes up in the afternoon later this week and I am stopping for a beer.....

And no way in hell I would carry my gun with a trunk full of moonshine for you asshats.

I go into bars carrying.  I made an agreement with myself that when carrying (even before CCW permits) I wouldn't drink.  For using it under the influence would just give a DA another club to beat me with.  Condensed version, don't CCW and drink.

It's ok to haul booze carrying your pistol.  It's consuming it while carrying that gets you charged if caught.

'Shine?  You're screwed under federal law anyway 'cause you didn't pay their damned tax.

  5. If you already use someone to supply needs for your other welders you might check with them.  You're already a customer that they should remember; it's in their best interest to help you along.

If they get snotty about it, I'd be looking for a new supplier.  You and a lot of small home garage guys are getting into welding; spending what you can for gas, wire and other stuff you need.  A smart business will learn to work with the little guy.  There's a lot that won't.

more free time to motorcycle for me. suckers.

Hopefully you don't work in an all male office? :D

  8. All politicians are going to look you in the eye and tell you they're on your side.  They fucking lie, got it?  They lie to you with their hand in your pocket and use the news media to make you believe it's not their hand.

I will at least respect the son of a bitch who looks me in the eye and tells me he's going fuck me.  I'll back Trump, but that doesn't mean I trust him.

Now...who wants to run for V.P. when I run for prez in 2020?

Been using an abrasive cutoff disc to cut it. What should I be using? The videos I watched used a cutoff disc and aviation snips to trim the stainless.

You taping the area where you're cutting?  A couple of layers of masking tape will help hold down the slivers that stick out.  Duct tape may work better but the adhesive can be a bitch to clean off.

  10. Update:  Got wheel off and broke down.  Cleaned with denatured alcohol and 0000 steel wool.  Just the curb side had corrosion.  My buddy from an ex job showed up with the Devcon and I let him apply it.  He skimmed it on, and it sat for about a week.  Remount tire, inflate and leak cured; thank you vf1000ride for bringing that up.

While I had it off I looked at the metal valve stem's rubber seals.  $6.00 at my friendly indy's shop got a new one and all is well.  Lost almost nothing since then, and no bubbling around the rim/tire bead since.  Life is good.

Are you legit upset or just trolling? It's a ball pit for morons. Your money should never cross their threshold in the first place.

Legitimately pissed.  I go somewhere on the bike with or without others, my wife; I expect to be left alone.  I don't bother others and expect the same.

    1. A group of our legion riders were at the Dave and Busters restaurant in Westlake on Friday all of them had their vests on everyone was welcomed and was served with no problems the management apologized for the mix-up at the other location Their dress code in under review Here is a copy of a letter that was posted on their facebook page --------Dave & Buster's is extremely grateful to all of our active military members and veterans, and we are honored to have them as valued guests. We have apologized to Mr. Murdock for his experience this past weekend. Mr. Murdock has raised important concerns regarding our policies. We recognize the need to educate our team members about the American Legion, and have reached out to the local American Legion Post 179, and the national organization for guidance. In addition, we will review our approach to our dress code. We remain fully committed to our military and will work with the American Legion and Mr. Murdock on ways we can support their mission and their community.

That's discriminatory.  There's a ton of riding clubs and AMA clubs in southern Ohio; apparently our money isn't good enough.

Damn it man, you just ruined a perfectly good rant.

No he didn't.  Whether you fly a 3 piece with a diamond or an AMA patch, or just don't sport at all, bars and restaurants seem to have no problem running you off.  But BubbaBobBilly is ok in the main dining room fistfucking Marylou on top of the table with kids watching.

  13. No colors, no patches/tshirts/caps...my money gets spent elsewhere.  Also got two completely biker friendly bars within 40 miles of me.  Don't let me or any of the organizations hereabouts catch one of the pussy-assed owners/regular staff in one of our places.

I use a pocket holster with a leather flap.  The flap keeps most pocket lint out  and makes it look like nothing more than a wallet

What kind of jam? Hopefully his first reaction was to rack the slide in an attempt to clear it to continue firing.

Second or third round he let off the slide failed to return all the way.  He racked it again; said it didn't feel right.  We cleared the mag and the round in the pipe, then found the ball of crap.

NOTE:  He now cleans once a week.

This is a good point, I periodically clean my carry gun even if it hasn't been fired.  You would be surprised at the amount of dust, fuzz, etc. it will pick up.  I know when its go time, I don't want a piece of pocket lint fouling up the action.

Friend of mine didn't think his carry gun needed looked at if he hadn't fired it.  We went for some practice and his jammed first shot.

Should have seen the "dust bunny" he had hiding in the slide.

  17. Never seen a Getgo, but around here UDF sells absolute shit gas; I think it's hard to get it to light off on a pile of brush!

I worry more about how clean and water-free the gas is.  As far as octane and cleaning I carry a small small metal can of Marvel Mystery Oil mixed with Toulene.  Get the toulene at Homo Depot; use it to promote a slow burn.  MMO from Wally World cleans, lubes a bit and is something of a pre-detonation deterrent.  Why don't I just buy 93 octane at the pump?  Glad you asked.

Next time you're at a pump filling a bike, ask yourself what the person before you pumped.  Probably 87 (or 85 E-15).  There you are...punched the 91 or 93 octane button and paying about $.50 to $.75 a gallon more.  But that hose and its filter holds at least a gallon if not 2 of whatever the guy before you pumped.  Now try to guesstimate size and length of the pipe inside that pump and maybe under it.  Let's assume it's holding another gallon of the cheap shit.  Remember how much you're paying for premium?  Feel a little bit fucked?  I see guys on other bikes buying premium all the time.  I'm a nice guy, I let them go first.   Most times they buy premium.

Now I'm curious.  I ride a Harley and have no idea what most foreign bikes are suppose to be burning.  What octane are you all burning in what you ride?

I do, but always with an extended mag if they're available for the gun and the extension doesn't limit how I carry the gun.  I usually bring an extra mag but having an extra round in the slide is always good.

Carry with a round not chambered?  Who does that?
