    Shave the sides of it?

This is the plan unless i get comfy with it. More time on the bike will probably help. ?

Yea 55 tire will make it even taller. With the Terrys seat and 55 tire I'm perfectly flat foot with zero knee bend.

Yes I’d say the 55 is out for me. Mostly just 2 up is sketchy   That and backing her down hill out of the garage on uneven ground.

I'm assuming your running a 55 series tire too? Just the seat shouldn't make you tip toe.

Nope. I’m hopping the bolsters on the side of the seat break in a bit. Will make it easier to get my feet down. The seat isn’t that high it’s more of a shape thing.

  3. I’m back in for this. The wedding I was supposed to be at has been postponed due to the groom being deployed. Still have reservations Wednesday through the weekend but have the whole week off. I’m guessing won’t be able to wait and will end up wanting to tag along with some of the folks headed south Tuesday. :D

  4. Put some miles on the Connie. Still shaking out the suspension tuning but just about got it. Makes for a lot more confidence throwing it around. The suspension mods and ecu flash really woke the big girl up. Turns out shaftys really can unintentionally power wheelie. Custom seat is super comfy but with a 34” inseam I’m tip toeing at a stop so on the fence about that.

  5. I’ve never had one. Been seeing some used pop up used here and there for the Connie. Wondering if it’s one of those things that’ll just end up collecting dust in the garage. Thinking the upright storage would be awesome. So my question for you guys that have/had them...... how much do you notice that big bastard back there when your riding? Do you leave them on most of the time? @2talltim I see you got one on your Connie. Like it?

  6. Little update. I ran across a hell of a deal on Icon Raiden DKR jacket and pants. Waterproof, vented,D30 armor. Waterproof is baked into the shell so no liners to fool with except the thermal. Nice stuff. It was 39 degrees the day I finished my suspension mods on the Connie and I was out about an hour comfortably. Yesterday it hit 80 degrees and with the vents open it was comfortable. Not cool but comfortable. The Connie blocks a lot of wind and vents in the jacket. It all folds up nicely into one saddle bag.  For less than $300 I’m very happy.

  7. Second thought....instructions do make some sense. When it goes back together bolt in the cartridges...measure from bottom spring keeper to the top of the extended leg.....subtract the cap length.....add your 1/2” preload...cut your spacer....set fluid level and drop in spring and spacer. Then you should have to compress the spring 1/2” to get the top spring seat under the jam nut. Guess it’s no different than I’ve done on others just never had to measure. Spacers have been pre cut or measurements given by manufacturer.

  8. More progress on the zrx. Finally got the diodes wired into the harness to finish up the install. Now has zx11 cams, valve springs ignition and brain. Damn things gonna think it’s a sport bike now. Also hooped up a fresh set of tires. Finally got around to the Penske shock on the Connie as well. Got some nice days coming so I gotta flip a quarter to see which one heads out first.

Well one of my fork legs is straight, like within .002. The other is crooked as a Clinton, indicator ran out of travel halfway around. This may slow me down.

Thinking I read somewhere that Traxxion dynamics will straighten them for about $50

How do you like the bar end mirrors? I am thinking about getting a set.

I’ll give ya my 2 cents on bar ends. I love em. If you get a good set that doesn’t have a lot of vibration they are great. You can see everything behind you at a quick glance. Some find it distracting taking your eyes from the road though. Mine came from a fella on the zrx forum that makes them. Bolt on in place of bar ends.

  11. Started working on the zrx today and learned a new trick. Replaced the single valve springs with doubles and dropped in a set of bump sticks with a little more lift. All that without removing the head. Put 2’ of rope down the cylinder so I wouldn’t drop a valve and used a fancy spring compressor from a fella on the zrx forum. Still gotta adjust the lash, swap the ignition and wire in a new cdi unit.
