It probably had nothing to do with the bike and everything to do with how Gary rode it.

On the list. Gonna check with Ivan to see if exhaust makes a difference to the flash. I don’t want this to be really loud but I can hardly hear it run. Maybe a slip on down the road if I can’t get use to the quiet.

You change bikes more often than I change underwear. I'm jelly.
Technically I’ve been riding the same bike for about 4 years. There’s just been a lot of others in between. The new one will slow that cycle down to a grinding stop. $$$

Yep. Last fall. Loved it. Wife absolutely refused to ride on it though. Partially my fault I’m guessing. That damn thing just loved finding the edge of the tire. Sooo moved on to my first new bike. New. I said new ?

Well it’s been a busy couple days. I stripped the Connie of all the goodies I could. I left the Connie in good hands. Moving to something much different.

I have a 1" lowered seat that you can borrow
Thanks but I already have the seat. Picked one up used when I got the bike. I just meant I’m gonna have to use it instead of the custom I had made

Attempted to lower the Connie. Installed lowering links and raised the forks in the clamps to level it out. 50 miles later she’s back to stock. It made the bike steer like a Mack truck. Looks like it’s tip toes or the lower seat option.

Very popular with the ZRX crowd. Much lighter

While we’re on the subject of keys. I called IP to make a service appointment to get new keys programmed. They said no appointments just bring it up it’s a quick job. So I slab for an hour to get it done today and they couldn’t really squeeze it in.

Things fly off the rear tire at a right angle to its surface. A hugger would have to extend beyond the centerline of the wheel to keep anything off me.
Basically they just keep your shock clean ish

Fuck you old man, it's a cosmetic mod
Cosmetic until you ride it on a wet road and your ass is soaked.

Motodynamic. Cheaper than most and well built.
+1 on motodynamic. There sequential led tail lights are awesome as well. Nice products.

What made you want to pin them like that? I thought about doing it that way but decided I wanted them more easily removable. So I went this route.
Just because I had the hardware laying around. Only takes a minute to remove the screws.

Man you've gotten the sport touring bug for sure. That thing looks like its ready for some big riding trips.
Don’t know about big trips but I do plan to put some miles on this year. Cages went on just in case because it’s a little sketchy backing it up especially in gravel. She’s kinda tall with the custom seat.

Good to meet you Sam. Thanks for hosting. Good to see some familiar faces as well. Definitely a brisk day for a ride but no surprises and no tickets makes for a good ride.

^^^Thats what I’m thinking

Stock, stock and stock.
Mods like suspension or anything requiring wiring are great but if you know nothing of the previous owners wrenching abilities I’d pass.

I’ve always been a fan of Scorpion helmets for bang for the buck. However Mike @RidersDiscount hooked me up with a screaming deal on the new HJC RPHA 70 ST and I’m loving it. Seems much quieter than it should since it moves a ton of air. Really nice liner and seems compact so no bobble head. Pinlock in the box, speaker cut outs and drop down sun shield. My first HJC and I’m very impressed with the quality so far.

I got a little experience with Chopin em up a bit but not a virago. If your wanting to get it on the road soon your probably best off to stick to stockish sizes. You’ll definitely have to lose the front fender to go that big and then you’ll most likely wanna clean that area up a bit. The rear has some size to it as well so it’ll probably require some modifications. Not sure it’ll fit with your stock fender and tail. Best thing you can do is find a forum dedicated to those bikes. It’ll take a lot of guessing out of it. The bike in the pic does have a nice clean look to it.

Did you change your coolant lines?
Nope mine looked fine. May be different anyhow. Was thinking mine went from the thermostat housing on back of the block to the right side of the radiator. Pretty sure my water pump had one hose to the radiator and the other to the cooler. Did look to be a pain to replace since everything is Jammed in there.
