  1. Update: Blackbird pics seen......uh, cosmetic damage? Easily fixed....the front forks are pushed into the frame....not what I would describe as cosmetic. Yikes.

Looking around and seeing ST up and running that aren't too much more than guestimates I am thinking. So prolee not going for it. I will hover around insurance guy to see about picking something directly from them....rather than an owner who is now a middleman.

Still to arrive prices on body panels.....friday.

    Thanks all for input.

  2. Looking forward to seeing Roy and crew out and about....hmm say August is here...you recovered enough or at least ready?

Mike picked up a TMax....so the 3 wheeled scoot will be passed along i'd bet. Way to go UP...Mike has sold all the bikes and only has scooters!

  3. Yeah on poor chance of flipping....my line of thinking was fixed upper to keep and ride. The ST has my eye...nice touring bike i'm thinking. Also thinking as mentioned above deal direct with insurance company. If the price asked by owner is cheap....what did the insurance company sell it back to him for.

Have since original post...talked with insurance guy in town....he said typically buy back is ten percent of retail established...whatever that means....but he says they have companies that they deal with to move them. Left a load of pics with lil' shop who can get me OEM plastic.....so gathering info on cost but then what goes with state and re-certify if that is a term to put back on road ( read that as hassle from and fees collected by )?

Thanks on confirming you can get a decent bike on rebound....now winter and keeping wife from seeing yet another bike, eh?

  4. Must be a really tough summer so far...I keep finding folks with crashed bikes and salvage titles.....problee NOT a good prospect for flipping and retiring on the profit, but thinking if ya want to build one for yourself....could be cheap....ah, but that is the question....is it cheaper? Anybody have any experience on resurrecting the dead? State inspection? Or ya just build it and ride?

    2008 honda ST1300, '98 VMax.....and a Blackbird...just this week I've found. Cosmetic by all appearances....meaning the expensive plastic.

Let the voting commence...yay or nay?

  5. Plus one...sorry phone connection went south...outa time now.

jCarlsn....return route plotted from Roscoe? Coupla ideas for ya. Mid-Roscoe up the hill at stop sign cr 23? & follow it to cr 17 which will bring you out on sr60 between 541 and Warsaw (36). Or just go back on sr83 to 62. Coupla varients from there if ya want. Or just stay on 62 and back to martinsburg for a retrace of incoming route.

  6. How are ya gonna get to packo$ on the east side since the Ash Street bridge came down...or was that Buckets St. Bridge? Is it like near Trilby and Tremainsville Road? Fun at nite by Cherry Street bridge...Anchor inn still there...I can still picture the muzzle flashes. Who'd admit to being from Toledo?

HMMM..this good be fun...even if it on the east side (snark, snark).

Still a Packos on Sylvania Ave?

Yes slab and speed traps at Monroeville and Woodville.....could be fun.

  7. amended reply...and brief history. Yeah is simple answer. However, just there and I see that they are paving last lane....so west lane into Glenmont from Briar Hill stone yet to do...if they are good...maybe done tonite. I am sure that all will be a go by this weekend. For you quik and young riders...go talk to the girls manning the traffic control duties. They'll problee work until just dark.

History. Chipped and sealed east end and thenn they paved over that last year. Looks like same deal for west end. Too bad they didn't cover the chip and seal on SR715.

Only caution would be new berm material will attrack 4X4 pick-em-ups to scatter it on fresh blacktop.

County road however is still chip and seal for wear coat.

  8. The route is good...keep it. The tricky unmarked crest and fall to left....house there - wife is EMT...husband can wail on broken parts....you folks still owe him ice cream bars!

lemme know when yer riding..wife and I will meet ys. Haven't been to Roscoe Village since...uhmmm 2 hrs ago ;)

  9. Saw the ice cream stops. Utica at Mill. A lil' farther east swing by Dresden. Popeye' s not a mom & pop, owned by basket company folks, but malt shop format. Loudonville a corner cafe opened not ice cream any more...across from bank in town center. Not quite the mom & pop stands but nice area to ride.

Ah heck just go to Roscoe Village in Coshocton.....Capt. Nye's custard ice cream.....then walk around and look at stuff.

  10. Monday was when they mowed. Hi Cleve!

Just concerned...Sunday afternoon a rider killed right here on SR520...crested a hill and ran into a tree that fell across the road. It'd be right after turning onto 520 from 62 and before the county road that comes into killbuck and Garvers gas station. I'm out almost daily riding and see lots of things. The roads I like and a lot of you like .... well it is a dynamic environment. It is not unusual to have debris, gravel, deer, tractors, buggies, bicycles. There are all kinds of potential hazards.

Be aware and when I run across something I share it.

    Safe riding.

  11. I rode a loop in the area Sunday. 62-541-83-62-520-514-62. Not so bad once I got past the horse manure on 541. I didn't see any silt and only a little gravel in the usual spots (driveways and intersections.)

Overall beautiful day. Cool, sunny and green. Mother nature was showin' off.

You was in the neighborhood - shoulda yelled...we was out for morning jaunt...mt vernon and back thru warsaw...silt on 60 coming north from warsaw to killbuckia.

  12. Yep...crews out and about chipping downed branches, gravel in spots and SR60 yesterday had the silty spots from standing water ..... SR715 still junk after state chipped and sealed it. SR 541East wasn't so bad...except for the mowing that had clippings out on road....a few cars should clear that away soon.

SR229 was nice all the way to Gambier...turned off at Laymon..nice to know another rider in the area.
