  1. Just came back from lunch, mentioned it to Bill re: NOTHING definite, but some folks may be headed this way....He says, mention my name, and said discount on meals and will put ya into a room!

Just don't remind him about the Sweeney Todd theater incident and the meat pie being served, I still think it's funny.

Two ADV riders in hotel some where too, saw the bikes out front. Dunno, as I didn't see them (yet).

AND...there's Kawi Kids',"Yard", in Coshocton as well (on main street) lotsa room for seating - Maybe I'll write a book on places to eat...and I thought all that time was wasted on the survey crew!

  2. Knock, knock....Big Speazy says group there is a group to Millersburg Hotel that Saturday....this you guys or another OR bunch? If ya are going to Co-Knockton, Warehouse is new owner and different chef...happened last year. Either way....I can meet folks at Roscoe, or ... If youse is the bunch coming to Millersburg....for the Hotel eats, they have separate meeting rooms....call owner Bill @ (330) 674-1457, and see whot doing. Village Admin, is Kevin Brooks...put some cones down and have a bike only parking?

    Y'all lemme know what's doin'. K?

Oh yeah SR60 south of Killbuck to Warsaw, has had the state crews out so you have that black grit/gravel down in all the really neat turns! SR 83 was okay, and you can expect paving operations to commence soon, USR62, SR 93, SR 514 (north side of Nashville) and SR520 from USR62 to Glenmont.

I'd be the red bird that doesn't have the goldwing speakers and such on it! Hi Mags, How's yer winter been?

  3. Rock slide info and blurb from down that'a way:

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- It will cost Tennessee about $2 million to remove a rock slide from U.S. 129 and stabilize the mountainside.

The Tennessee Department of Transportation2_bing.gif let an emergency contract for $1.99 million to Pacific Blasting Demolition Ltd. on Monday, but the contract has incentives for completing the work earlier than the July 31 deadline.

The highway -- known to motorcyclists as the Dragon -- is closed from near Chilowee Lake in the Tennessee Smoky Mountains foothills to the North Carolina state line.

TDOT said Tuesday it is still working to reopen portions of the road.

Travel between Tennessee and North Carolina has become complicated with slides also closing Interstate 40 near the state line and U.S. 64 in the Ocoee River Gorge.

Travel is also hampered by a smaller rock slide on Monday on U.S. 441 in the Smokies.

Newfound Gap Road reopened Tuesday morning, with a detour through a parking area adjacent to the slide. The speed limit there is 15 miles per hour.

The detour will remain in place as park officials monitor the slope's activity to determine its stability.

  4. west of Berlin and east of Mlbg. Curious, I stopped there yesterday....they have motorcycle batteries in stock! Huh? So if y'all are riding and encounter probs....$25 to $60 bucks. "You chust need the number of the battree".

Life is good - Oh, they sell (and rent trailers) in case ya really break down.

  5. Monday, first day of Spring! Outback road report: Nasty pavement trenches and potholes, will take your front wheel, chew on it and throw it back out to you! Other than that not bad today! Oh, Holmes, Knox and a bit of Ko-Knockton.

Dead skunk in-the-middle of the road and a squirrel too-it is Spring! Deer have littered the shoulder all winter!

  6. cruised thru this exchange and y'all need to contact Senators.

Senate president is Bill Harris, 614-466-8086, Floor leader Keith Faber 7584, Majority whip Mark Wagoner 8060.

Bill was a car dealer in Ashland (may still be).

The only thing new in this is what I'm perceiving as the "teeth" to seize private property. I can remember being pulled over by an OHP years ago as, (I) "was approaching 55 mph". I was on the ramp by Norwalk accelerating to merge with the traffic on SR20. No shit Farnesworth, it's a ramp, they are designed and built to have you merge with the road traffic. So there ya are...one complete ass for whatever trips his trigger will pull some crap-knowing that the potential is to seize your vehicle(?). Got the I'm gonna let ya go statement. No shit again.

    Call Senators now!

  7. are you seroius ????? attempted homicide ........:beating:

Saw this and the original opener....and thought....Welcome to our world.

I always count on gravel at the worst possible moment and it pretty much is always where you don't want it. It's almost always on the inside of really tight turns. Cars/trucks dropping a wheel off and kicking stones and dirt onto the pavement.

    BUT>>>

I had a supervisor that made a point to mention how he hated them sportbikes. Wanted to swerve into their lanes and talked of throwing rocks out as they flew by his house. I quit riding my bike to work as, Uh things seemed to happen to it while I was in working. I tried to park it where I could keep and eye on it, but someone reported me and the big brass said, "Must park out with the others." The parking area was next to the outside break area. I quit riding it as those cretins were perfectly cabable of finding a wrench and loosening something. I mean, if my Vette can get five flats in a month with puntures by the same kind of self-tapping screws used out on the floor. It became a nightly inspection before getting into the vehicle.

Welcome to our world! So kzz and I will keep our tin foil hats!

  8. Anybody see this???

    http://thekneeslider.com/archives/2009/11/14/what-was-buell-working-on-when-the-end-came/

What was Buell Working on When the End Came?

Speculation about the bike indicates a displacement of 1199cc with much less weight and more horsepower than the current 1125R, it's the kind of bike you would build if you were planning on World Super Bike competition, or more to the point, the bike you would build as a true, no compromise, world class American sport bike.

Yeah I did, but with the second pic....too bad.

  9. Charging the battery for the digital camera - gonna get pictures for yer scrap book(s).

There still should still be scratches on the pavement!

    Glad all okay.

I now have an aluminum "foot peg" available. Just needs to be drilled out. It'll be here at the first aid station and it'll be lite enough to mail back into the woods for the next use!

  10. I like it, even though I had already seen that-I won't beat ya down for your initiative.

Beemer is stepping it up, EH?

JRMiii lefta pearl for ya to smile at somewhere else on the bd....check yer electric contacts. Might be on the left one.

  11. I see it, and dunno as Beemer boys are hanging out there yet. I fwd'd them this, but problee not for them. If I do it'll be the lil' bike (Suzuki) as your looking to tires and I am looking at brake pads. I seem to need the brakes once in the while-perils of liter bike, I guess. I still got that unplugged or patched tire in my garage and a used Avon (I was guessing at 250 miles left on it though) :>) Your are welcome to them. It'll clean my garage a bit. If Garver will mount them for ya (he's the station in town-where I usually get my tires) then you're good. PM sent.

  12. Fall is here and that means the catalogs showing up in the mailbox. Is it too early for Christmas wish lists? Flipping thru a catalog and I see a reference to a magazine named, RoadRunner, Motorcycle Touring and Travel (www.roadrunner.travel) and they have useful articles - "Storing your bike for winter" AND then I see an article on Shamrock Tours. Surprise B-Day gift of tour for hubby (couple from Butler, PA)...and they was in the neighborhood....visited 9/23/09. I wonder where I was? Lotsa pictures and I smiled as I recognized spots pictured even before reading the caption. Helmick Covered Bridge, Malabar Farm, Mohawk Dam and good ole Roscoe Village. For you tecnologically advanced GPS download too!

Article attached: Check out the site for pics- they found the great backroads (including the off road spots). Enjoy.

    Off-Roadin’ in Eastern Ohio

Not long ago the idea of a dual-sport Shamrock Tour took root when Steve Mauk, a long-time off-road rider, ignited my imagination with tales of scenic gravel roads and trails winding through the overarching canopies of hardwood forests in his native Eastern Ohio. We collaborated on choosing a home base for this shamrock (Coshocton, Ohio) and the riding areas, and we scheduled the trip for mid-June when the roads would be dried out from spring rains and all of the plant life would be in full bloom.

    The Plain People

    (Day 1: NE Quadrant)

Eastern Ohio is well known among many motorcyclists for its challenging two-lane tarmac, but fewer people know that
