There was an article in GMHTP a few months back on the conversion and it seemed pretty straight-forward. http://www.gmhightechperformance.com/tech/ghtp_1203_lt1_t56_adaption_new_version_conversion/index.html $398 for the conversion kit and you can do it in your garage with basic tools and a bearing press.

The adapter kit is $300 and the Borg-Warner T-56 is much stronger than the LS Tremec T-56.

Yes, 275/40/18s. The rubbing was enough to hear during full lock, but my car also isn't lowered.

I ran C6 18" up front with 275s and required a small spacer. Otherwise, full lock caused the tire to rub inside the wheel well.

Very pleased. On top of that, he came back two weeks later to re-inspect the job and roofed our new shed in the back yard, free of charge and with the same shingles just used on the house. Great company.
