Gotta say the highlight of the day for me was seeing Ray click it off at the 1/8 mile and coast through the lights with a 9.84! Here's some pics from today. http://www.zeppelinsreef.com/images/cr_trackday_091109/1.jpg http://www.zeppelinsreef.com/images/cr_trackday_091109/2.jpg http://www.zeppelinsreef.com/images/cr_trackday_091109/3.jpg http://www.zeppelinsreef.com/images/cr_trackday_091109/4.jpg

Ya, I saw those. Found a couple on ebay also for allot less(about $50). Thought I'd check here first.
-
Preferrably black. Anyone have one? Thanks
-
Yep Jeff. Was good to talk to you guys. Can't wait to get started on moving forward from where its at now. We DID talk boost yesterday Anthony. I'm leaning that way long term for sure.
-
Ya, I think I will for now. Its pretty complete. Bottle heater, window switch, purge kit, etc. Duct tape is gone, but now the latches sure wont stay closed for anything. I will need to work on that.

Thanks

Alright. Picked up a 2002 Trans Am WS6 as a starter. Getting with IPS next week to get some specifics on what was done by the previous owner. One of the things on the top of my list was low miles and preferrably a stick. This 2002 has 23,000 miles and yes, is a 6 speed. Here are a few pics. http://www.zeppelinsreef.com/images/war_eagle/2002-ws6-1 http://www.zeppelinsreef.com/images/war_eagle/2002-ws6-2 http://www.zeppelinsreef.com/images/war_eagle/2002-ws6-3 http://www.zeppelinsreef.com/images/war_eagle/2002-ws6-4

Thanks Ray. Nice to be back. Been driving it allot today. Feels pretty strong. The adjustable front springs really give nice weight transfer when you get on it. Front end comes up really nicely. I think I want to raise the front up about 1/2". Its pretty low. I know part of that is the 15" rims though too. Rearend whines a little. Gotta get Brandon to take a look at that, and give me suggestions on how to get a slim chambered muffler of some kind inline between the headers and the over axle. The way the exhaust in done, thats going to be the best place I think. It doesn't need quieted down a whole lot, but just a little. I think an aftermarket intake and 92 mm throttle body would really wake it up even more too. Looks like a nice NX NO2 setup with purge kit. Never had NO2 before, so thats something I have to decide whether to keep or not. I'm sure it adds a nice boost. IPS did a cool trick for the shift light. The center cooling duct in the dash has the shift light hidden inside. When the vents are closed you dont see it come on, but open the vent and you see it nicely. Didn't even know it was there until I was messing with the vents today.

Party tomorrow.......

Here's some irony for ya. Look at the rims on my '94 here, then look at the rims on the car I just picked up. I may have actually gotten those rims back with different tires. I bought them used from a COFBA member, then sold them shortly after the clutch explosion.
-
Ya, I knew I would get some shit for that statement. Gotta remember, last time I was at the track, I left pieces all over it. Not a situation I am in any hurry to repeat.
-
Ya, the lid was a little up in the back, out of the holders, with the latches duct taped shut. Thats fixed. Its already setup with a cutout cap. I want to put a Hooker muffler on the current setup, and all will be good. Dont think I'll run it next Friday. I'll be there. Want to get familiar with the car for awhile before I turn it loose on the track.

Dude, I AM old...........I am nearing the top of the 50 hill, so its just cool that I'm still into it. This car has long tubes, a full custom exhaust, and NO muffler at all. Its pretty loud!
-
I didn't pay NEAR what they were asking. I'm very happy. Brandon. Ya, I called Mark a little while ago and your crew was in the truck with him and they said you guys did the car and it was done right. PM me with a time you will be in tomorrow, if you will, and I'll give a call or even stop by and get the info. I'm pretty stoked about it. Has a couple issues, but nothing major. I think it needs retuned as it is kind of hard starting, especially when hot (might be due to the trunk mounted battery, not sure) and it hunts for idle allot when cold. Other than that it feels REAL strong. I do have to quiet it down a little though.
-
Ya, it needs a little cleanup, but it has a WICKED cam, AFR heads, headers, etc. The nitrous needs cleaned up or removed completely, but the car is done pretty well. Lots of suspension goodies underneath too. I dont know if he was a COFBA member. Only one guy I can think of that had a black WS6, and I can't remember the name. I posted because I want to track the owner down and get some history, find out what is done internally, get cam specs, etc. .......and its now in MY driveway.

Anyone know who the previous owner of this car was? http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?ct=u&car_id=267296917&dealer_id=75291&car_year=2002&rdm=1252026394267&model=FBIRD&num_records=25&systime=&make2=&highlightFirstMakeModel=&start_year=2000&keywordsfyc=&keywordsrep=&engine=8+Cylinder&certified=&body_code=0&fuel=&awsp=false&search_type=both&distance=100&marketZipError=false&search_lang=en&showZipError=n&make=PONT&keywords_display=&color=&page_location=findacar%3A%3Aispsearchform&min_price=&drive=&default_sort=priceDESC&seller_type=b&max_mileage=&style_flag=1&sort_type=priceDESC&address=43062&advanced=y&end_year=2002&doors=&transmission=&max_price=&cardist=18&standard=false&rdpage=thumb&captcha=success BTW, the ad says its a turbo car, but its not. http://images.autotrader.com/images/2009/8/29/267/296/12868952099.267296917.IM1.02.565x421_A.562x421.jpg Thanks Larry

You didn't know about the all-wheel drive option that year for the Trans Am?

The BMV doesn't hand over a title. Titles are handled at the county level by the clerk of courts. There is a COC office at the same location as the Broad St. BMV, if thats where you had it done. Was the vehicle originally sold outside of Ohio somewhere? Only thing I can think of as to why the lien didn't come up is that somehow it got titled in Ohio with an out of state lien.

It came out nice.
