  1. I used DJ long ago, but now I need a new hookup. Who is the current one I can get some info from?
  2. Seems like good timing to do some IMO. I think the recent Land Rover fad is over, and I think the past spike in Jaguar cars on the road is over too. Good time to get rid of them.
  3. That "CR" edition is so freaking ricey.
  4. Stern fucking rules. And so does Bubba. Guess what, Sirius was right; they paid him 1/2 BILLION dollars + stock options, and saved the company. Had XM gotten him (and not made some of their other STUPID mistakes), Sirius would be dead and gone.
  5. I had a car payment when I was 16. I always made sure my payments are cheap, though. Bought my CRX in HS, and my Camaro and Firebird in college.
  6. Factory performance upgrades. As a dealership, you are able to get factory stuff a lot quicker/easier than a "tuner" shop. For instance, offer a brake package for C5 owners that upgrades them to C6 Z06 brakes. Have set packages available to people. A lot of Vette owners are anti-modding their car, but will be more inclined to do a "factory upgrade."
  7. ????? You don't think the same companies that supply fuel pumps to GM don't supply the EXACT SAME pump to import makers as well?? Shit happens; this isn't an overly common problem with these trucks. And I didn't get to use my new tools...they were still in my girl's condo. I have plenty of tools here, just most of them are my roomate's. Ahhh well, truck has 109k on the clock now (I drive a lot), something had to go wrong some time I suppose. I've only really done basic maintenance to it...new tires that lasted a long time, brakes that did their fair share of duty and then some, fluids, un-needed tuneup, etc.
  8. LOL, that whole area is pretty shaddy. I can point out several VERY bad apartment complexes within walking distance. The kind where they are dealing drugs around the back, among other things.
  9. What ever happend to just masturbating?
  10. Doesn't surprise me at all in that neighborhood!
  11. Dinner was @ 1PM. I didn't even get back to my house until 1PM. Then the 25 minute drive back to Janet's. Since Tim hasn't charged the battery in the Vette, nor changed the oil, I couldn't drive that. Tim could have gave us a ride, but then I would have got there @ 3PM. BUT, I wouldn't have anything to drive to work Monday, since the Formula is still in pieces.
  12. Sean, as you know I just got back a couple of weeks ago. Call me some time; Janet and I can clue you in to everything we did/learned. Perhaps you, Dani, Janet, and I can get dinner or something.
  13. So my fiancée and I left her place on the west side late Sunday morning to make the 1.5hr trip north to my Dad's place, where a bunch of family was getting together for Easter. We stop at Speedway to grab a drink for the drive (already had a mostly full tank of fuel). As we leave, the Avalanche stummbles for a second. Odd, as this has been a pretty problem-free vehicle, and never an issue with running. I get onto 270, and after a 1/2 mile, it starts stumbling badly, and within a mile dies. Ahhh, no codes, no start. I can't hear the fuel pump prime. AAA tows me back to my house on the east side, where my roomate and I discover I have no fuel pressure, but the fuel pump relay is clicking. $244 + tax later, I have a fuel pump. Pump a lot of the gas out, with a leaky pump (and dumping most of it into my boat's fuel tank), then deal with the hassle of getting the pump swapped out. I've dropped a few tanks before, and though this looked like a pretty easy job, it was more of a PITA than expected. A few hours (and soaked in gas) later, the Avalanche is up and running again. So, instead of a family dinner, I got to lay my ass on the pavement and change out a fuel pump. Happy F'ing Easter.
  14. LOL. How much extra to fix the dude's hair?
  15. Nothing. She never does. She doesn't start arguments, put stress on me, or act like some silly broad. She always admits that she would make an aweful boyfriend, as she doesn't have tollerance for your average girly BS. But she isn't Tom-boyish either. I just lucked out and found a woman that is a logical thinker; a rarity I've discovered. I did discover that they shipped me two 5mm sockets, and no 5.5mm, so I had to shoot off and e-mail to Sears about that problem. We also exchanged my watch for a different one, as we looked at some when we took it in to get sized, and found one we liked better she hadn't seen. Hell, I dated a chick for 5 years, and another for 3, and never even took a side glance at getting a ring. Yet in a year and 5 months, I proposed to Janet. I'm uber cautious about this stuff; I don't ever want to deal with a divorce. Luckily, in case that would happen, she insists on a pre-nump.
  16. I worked all day, to come back to her condo for my b-day. Last year, she went overboard with a Sony 400 Disc DVD changer, several bottles of booze, T-shirts, some other small stuff, and a nice dinner at Hyde Park in Upper Arlington. This year: - 245 piece Craftsman tool kit. It is the fitted kit w/ the slide out trays that have a spot for everything. Exactly what I wanted; she even got the laser etched version. My roomate is purchasing a house and will be moving out soon, with most of the tools being his, so I really need this! -One of Fossil's nicer watches, something I've been in need of, and the model I've been looking at. - Bottle of Whiskey, and a bottle of Brandy - 1.5L bottle of Heineken; looks like a Champagne bottle. - 7-piece Vodka set (we like to drink, lol) - Beer glasses like the ones I got her for X-mas, since I like them so well - Brookstone hose sprayer w/ soap dispenser. Nice quality unit; she said it has gotten great reviews online, and something I wanted - Boxers, Altoids, Cheez-Its, and a couple lotions (I need them...no one would ever say I have girly hands). THEN, she takes me out to a nice dinner at Hyde Park at the Cap...much nicer than the Upper Arlington one. Had a couple of steaks with a German Riesling we both like. Afterwords, we went to a wine place in Grandview, and sat down to a bottle of Shiraz...a not-too dry one, but bit of a slow drinking bottle. I was highly impressed. I was highly impressed with last year's, and this year's was even better. I couldn't ask for a better woman to marry!
  17. Ferrari?? Or something realistic. Hmmmm, maybe the new Skyline, though it isn't really over impressing me so far. Hmmm, an FD w/ an LSx swap.
  18. Ehh, I did it myself for what, $8. Would have taken longer to take it over there to have it fixed; only reason I wanted 256 to do it was I was already going to be out buying parts, and since they caused the issue, I wanted them to fix it. As for NTB, I know every store is different. I won't be going back to that one. I wasn't even pleased when I went the first time, but didn't have a choice in the matter. Had my fiancée (g/f at the time) been the one making the purchase, I know for 100% certainty she would have spent $300 more on tires that were not appropriate for her.
  19. Hmmm, I slightly miss my 86 CRX Si I had in high school. Had some fond memories in that car. It was time for it to go when I got rid of her (front end damage from an accident, unreliable Honduh too). Was sort of fun, but I doubt I'll ever buy another one. Ever so slightly miss my 92 Camaro RS. But the Formula replaced it, and was a big step up from the RS. I wouldn't mind a clean 3rd Gen; such as a 92 Hawk, 89 TTA, or something with an LSx swap.
  20. The new ones are AWD 4.2L V8, NA 340HP. A stock LS1 shouldn't have a problem with one from a roll, figuring the LS1 should put down the same power to the wheels (if not slightly more), and is several hundred pounds less portly (S4 = ~3900lbs).
  21. I tend to think I wouldn't daily drive any 100k car, regardless of how much per mile it cost. Maybe if I was uber rich, but then why would I give a crap about what mileage my vehicle got?
  22. Oh, when I had the tires replaced, they just tossed the spare in the trunk too. So I go replace the front brake/rotors today, and replaced the wheel studd (which was being a bitch to get out, but finally decided it wasn't going to beat me). When it was at the shop, I saw that they took the lug nuts off of the driver's side front wheel. They put them back on...and imagine that, overtorqued again The car calls for 80 ft/lbs. Torquing them to 100 ft/lbs was nearly as tight as they had them. I had to give some effort with a breaker bar just to get them loose. I will NEVER go back. Discount Tire has always done me right. Hell, I had them break a wheel studd once, they couldn't fix it there, so they had me drive straight over to a shop nearby to fix it on their dime. They usually have better prices too.
  23. Last year (around April), I took my fiancé's 2001 Sentra in to get 4 new tires and an alingment. I normally don't go to NTB, but she blew a tire the night before, this was a last-minute deal, and her car takes a weird size. The night before, I drove over to her, and swapped her rear right to the front right, and tossed the spare on the back (front right blew out). Everything came off easily, and I used my torque wrench to tighten down the lugs, as I ALWAYS do. Take it in, get everything done, they note nothing being wrong w/ the lug nuts/studds. A couple months later, I put new brakes on the rear, without issue. Today, I went to pull the front wheels to inspect the front brakes and do a rotation myself. I go to loosen nut #1 on the right front, and it is coming off pretty hard after a couple turns. I try another one, and it isn't budging...I can easily tell I will break it if I take it off. I didn't try any of the others. I take it to NTB, to get the tires rotated by them (free w/ the stuff I purchased previously), and told them about the studd, and how they are the last people to ever touch those front wheels. Guy at the front has an attitude, but does with everyone that I observed him interact with. Later, a dude comes up to me (that I later discover is the service manager), and states the one lug nut is stuck, and will probably break if he removes it. Quotes me ~$56 to replace it (yeah, like I'm going to pay $56 for that). I explain the situation. He says "we couldn't have done it, we always torque our lug nuts by hand. It is probably due to age." I explain to him I came in near closing time, with 8 other cars there they needed to finish, with a 4-tire/4 wheel alingment job, and that they were in a rush, so I'm not buying that statement in this situation. He refuses to cover the repair, I tell him to get my car off the rack. He does so, and here I am. The car is an 01 w/ 53k easy miles on the clock. I can't believe that in 11 months those lug nuts went from easy to get off to seized. I haven't checked the others, but will be doing so shortly. I already bought a studd/lug nut, but the point is I didn't want to deal with this BS myself.
