My g/f is thinking about getting it soon. Money isn't a factor, but a great job at it is. She can't stand contacts, and has a very bad habbit of not wearing her glasses. I think she is most worried about down time, risk, dry eyes, and if she will have vision issues again 10 years from now.

I have moved to Newsgroups for the time being. It isn't a great as Thorne describes. I used to use Oink a lot; d/l speed is no faster than Oink was...actually some stuff has been a lot slower than I would normally get on Oink. Also, you have to do a lot more digging to get what you want. But hey, it works.

C6; it is simply a nicer car, and close in performance to a C5 Z06.

There won't be any rust on the tranny. You can probably make all of your money back if you smartly part out the car. Suspension pieces, wheels/tires, hood and hatch are worth reasonable cash if not damaged, headlights/taillights, etc. These cars aren't very rust prone, so that shouldn't be a big concern. Post pics of the car; it may be more easily fixed than you think. Edit: You edited while I was typing...alright, it may not be fixable. But probably still some salvagable parts on it.

Sorry, I didn't live at home when I was 20 either. Some Firebirds do run great lap times. Never said mine does. But it's sad you are trying to make fun of a C6 while driving grandma's sports car.

Loaded with every option Aerial Atom. They start @ 50k, fully loaded @ 120k. Or a new ZR1 Or a Ford GT Or whatever used Ferrari/Lambo I could get @ that price. Parts are expensive on those cars, but if you do the labor yourself, it would still be manageable.

I'm getting screwed this year compared to last. Even though I made a couple hundred less this year (more money per hour, but a lot less OT), and I put a lot more into my 401k. You would figure I would be in a lower tax bracket. I claimed pretty much the same as far as property/school loan/home loan interest goes, yet my federal return is $300 less than last year. That BLOWS. I've still got a few numbers to play, might be able to get another $100-200 more back.

My g/f and I have had the flu pretty badly. She started on Saturday night; I started Monday morning. I literally layed around her place all day yesterday, with severe swings from hot to cold, fever that came and went, bad headache, and stomache pains that came and went (only threw up once). Her's was about the same. I called off Monday and Tuesday, and have today and tomorrow off. Even though I slept a bunch yesterday, I've been sleeping like crazy today. Went to bed before midnight, and just woke up a few minutes ago. I still feel kind of crappy, but not nearly as bad as before.

How's that Big Ten Network working out for ya? Or the NFL Channel? TW = 13HD, WOW = 27HD. TW may have 7Mbps down, but WOW offers 1Mbps up vs. TW's 512k, which IMO is far more important. Warner does win with Newsgroups, though.

Hyder Park off of Henderson is decent; you can hit your upper budget if you don't go crazy on the menu. House of Japan is always good; not quite the romantic setting though.

I like and disliked the game. Obviously the Eli escape/helmet catch was the play of the game. Some of it just dragged on. I was hanging out with a couple of buddies, drinking/making hot wings, so it was a good time. That said, this game would have been better with a little money on it. I'm not really a gambler (I hate losing money), but $20 on this game would have made it exciting. Especially since I would have bet on the Giants making the spread. Otherwise, I didn't really care (I prefer college football) other than my buddy was a Giant's fan, so I rooted for them just because.

Think about it; most people with a house like that park in the garage, and use the inside garage door to get into the house. That said, I have no interest in ever owning a house of that style.

$30 Netgear Wireless special @ Best Buy. Needs rebooted about every 3-4 months, but that's about it. Not exactly feature rich (I'd love to throttle some connections, and have better firewall control), but for $30 I can't complain. From the work I do, I find Linksys to be the least reliable of consumer routers. They LOVE to either shit out or cut WAN bandwidth in 1/2 or worse.

Not possible. This is an add-on bathroom; house was only "designed" for on bathroom. Previous owner was a do-it-yourselfer...I've had to undo a number of things the idiot did. Let's just say I had random car parts seep up out of the back yard for the first 2 years I owned this place. I nearly had an electrical fire from where the moron added skylights, and instead of correctly lengthening an electrical wire so he had clearance, he took whatever small gauge scrap wire laying around and twisted it together. I only new this because the circuit died, traced it to some glowing wires! Luckily this bathroom is the last of his hacked up crap I should need to deal with.
