I do the opposite, I applaud someone yanking those crappy sounding, oil drinking, maintenance intensive, no torque, unreliable, fuel inefficient motors.

Aren't you the person who told me you'd never own a VW / Audi out of warranty? My g/f is actually seriously considering getting an 06-07 low mile Audi A4 2.0T Quattro (loaded), since they depreciate so much after the first 1-2 years. She likes the car, and knows to only own one under warranty. Other car to look at is an 06-07 Saab 9-3 Aero Sedan, same % of depreciation. Regardless, both of those cars are going for big bucks under what they sold for new right now, with low miles and lots of remaining warranty.

I was there a week ago when it was mostly 30% off. I want some new silverware and knives; I'll see what the Main St. store has in the next day or two.

It has saved me many a drunken night. All Star Special, Rasin Toast, Scrammbled Eggs, Hashbrowns "capped", Waffle, Sausage. I always put the Heinz 57 sauce on the Hashbrowns...good stuff. I always look at the menu with the intention of getting something other than the All Star special. I never do.

I just walked outside. Global Warming is a bunch of BS.

I bought a couple DVD Burners off of him several weeks ago. Well, they were both supposed to be DVD burners. One was a SATA burner, the other was an IDE CD burner, DVD reader. I never mentioned it to him because I ended up throwing the IDE into a PC I was selling, and it didn't cost me any money, so no biggie.

Put a clutch in my Camaro, I'll give you a laptop
Nitrousbird replied to Archie's topic in Passing Lane
It's obvious you've never done an LT1 clutch before. Slave cylinder is pointless to do on these cars unless damaged. And even so, you can literally jack the car up 3", reach under and take two nuts off, and the thing pops off...no real need to do it while doing the clutch. As for the TO bearing, the LT1 uses a patented pressure plate by Valeo (all aftermarket LT1 clutches are some modified verson of this, using either the LT1 or LT4 Valeo PP...performance clutches always using the LT4), and is a pull-style clutch (most clutches are push style). You don't replace the TO bearing on these PP's. It is smart, however, to replace the pilot bushing (usually with a bearing), and it's not a bad idea to replace the rear main seal at the same time. I'd do it (I've done around 4 or 5 LT1 clutches now, can't recall anymore), but my garage is super full with 2 projects and very non-insulated. If it still isn't done by April, I may be able to do it then. And I've installed 3 SPEC Stage III clutches (that's what my car sports for now). Since this is a used unit, inspect the metal retainers for the spring hub for any cracks (known weak point of their discs). Any sign of cracks, throw it away. When installed PP bolts, MAKE SURE to locktite them. Tommy (GRN96WS6) torqued his to spec, but due to no locktite, had one back out and go through his bellhousing back when he had his WS6 (installed a SPEC clutch at that time). Hints to others: - Wobble extensions are your friend - Make sure the clutch fork is fully engaged when reinstalling...it can be tricky, and something look like it is engaged when it isn't - Drain the tranny first. Otherwise, you will end up making a mess - Pull off the shifter. It is doable by just removing the shift knob/handle/inside boot, but if you are a first timer on one of these, it is far worth the extra few minutes. - Though doable with one person, it is FAR easier to get the tranny put back in w/ a helper. There are dowel pins, but getting it shoved in can be a PITA. 5 minutes from a helper is very useful. - This isn't some super light tranny...a tranny jack makes life a whole lot easier. Hint to owner: this is a GREAT time to swap out your torque arm with a non-tranny mounted unit, such as what Spohn offers. Also a good time to replace the tranny mount; if it is a stock LT1 mount, it is either broken or will be soon enough. -
You couldn't get a salvage title C6 Z06 for that price, unless it was still in wrecked condition.

Uhhh, I don't own an SUV. An Avalanche has WAY more in common with a truck than an SUV (basically a quad cab, short bed truck w/ extra features). I haven't noticed pastels in my truck, and I just drove it. I have to leave in a few; I'll go see if you have been inside painting it. The North Face interior is a love it or hate it thing; I personally like it.
-
Come on, you can't possibly think that is anything but a scam or misprint. You can't get in a based out 05 Vette for that, unless it is wrecked or has a salvage title.

I have a Porter Cable 6HP/25 Gallon unit. It will eat up the tank with heavy die-grinder use. I'd suggest 35-40 w/ a decent motor for what you would want. If you can avoid oil-less at that size, do it, as the oil-less are a lot louder.

I have done a LOT of wall fishing, thru a variety of walls (fire breaks, insulated, from attics, from basements/crawl spaces, etc.). In most cases, glow rods work WAY better than fish tape. I honestly avoid fish tape whenever possible Here is a good trick. Take RG59 cable, and strip it back to the center conductor (59 because it has a thiner center conductor than RG6, though RG6 works fine to and I end up using it more often just because it is on hand). Strip back about 3' of center conductor. Right above where you want the outlet, push it thru the ceiling (next to the wall). When you look in the attic, you'll see the wire, and know exactly where you need to drill. When you pull it out of the ceiling, the hole is so small you'll never even notice it. You normally don't need tape/glow rod. Just run the wire down the wall. You usually don't need to open up a very big hole...metal coat hangers can be your friend.

It is totally unfair to compare the TBSS to a Jeep SRT8 Price wise it is as unfair as it gets. Go build one online. TBSS AWD, with every option (leather, moonroof, navigation, block heater...EVERYTHING) MSRP: 40,370.00 SRT8 Loaded: $45,345. Now that's not too far off loaded vs. loaded. But if you just want the performance aspect, not even close: TBSS 2WD Base = $29,560 TBSS AWD Base = $31,695 SRT8 Base = $41,420 We are talking a 10k difference between a base AWD TBSS vs a SRT8, and more if you want a 2WD TBSS. Sure there is a lot more you are getting with that SRT8, but performance wise, you can easily get that TBSS moving for far less dollars. Come mod time, the TBSS is far cheaper in that catagory too. When it comes to used ones, the price difference is just as great. Someone who can afford a TBSS may not be able to afford an SRT8.

Look, I love Carlin, have a couple of his DVD's, have seen him live, even bought one his his books for my g/f...that said, credit should be due to the person who actually created it. Especially with an oldie like that.

You would be surprised at what the insurance costs on some cars. Such as a Corvette being way cheaper than a F-body/Mustang. Sometimes these semi-luxury cars are way cheaper than the econo-cars, simply due to the people who normally own them. Hell, it was cheaper to have full coverage on my 94 Mustang GT than it was on the 96 Sebring Rag-Top I had for a short while...you'd figure grandpa's Sebring would be way cheaper. You never know unless you check.

R U A Cubby Chaser? That's exactly the right dimensions for a chick's body, except her boobs could be bigger. But I'll take her small rack over some "thick" chick with a fat set of tits.
-
No And no again. That car would have been fine with a set of snow tires on it vs. a wide set of Z-rated tires. No need for some big winged, 4 door sedan.

Uhhh, any of you ever hear of roll-bar padding?? I've purposely hit my head on the bar with the padding to see how bad it would hurt...didn't hurt at all. Not that thin hard stuff...I use the Jegs "Tuffcoat" stuff I've been pulled over wearing my 5-point. Cop clearly saw it, didn't even mention it. This was a Delaware State Trooper too, which is a likely canidate to hassle someone.

2005 G35 Sedan...kinda high miles and at your price limit 2005 CTS Another 2005 CTS, but only 34k on the clock, still under warranty, and barely over your budget 2005 BMW 325Xi, AWD, 45k on the clock 2005 Acura TL with Navigation, within your budget...71k on the clock though 2005 Audi A4 1.8T, only 30k on the clock, within budget 2007 Saab 9-3, only 20k miles, barely over budget 2005 Saab 9-3, 54k on the clock, under $13,000 Or you could buy one of the boring cars previously mentioned. I've driven the Legacy GT...I wasn't impressed (it was a loaded new 2007).

There, fixed that for you, since it isn't Carlin.

- Welcome to 2005 - Not George Carlin, but rather Bill Maher - How many times does this same thing have to be passed around? - That font is nearly unreadable...let me guess, a copy/paste from some idiot that sends outs mass e-mails. http://www.snopes.com/politics/soapbox/newrules.asp

16k for a 3 year old Monte SS w/ 36k and cloth seats seems a bit steep to me.

Ehhh, test it over here and compare it to the competition in a test, then I might believe its numbers a bit more. Still looks too much like a 350Z. Still would much rather have a Z06 for the money.
