  1. HELL FUCKING YEAH. Whhhaaaaa, kids can't eat because mom is on crack. Can't make an ommlet without cracking a few eggs. Besides, the MAJORITY (read: not all you cry babies) of kids of crack head parents won't grow up to become anything anyway. And it's real simple, if the kids are with substance abusing parents, take them away from the parents. IMO, if you want on welfare, you should be required to get fixed. We don't need you breeding anymore, and you sure as hell shouldn't get MORE money for having kids. These people shouldn't be doing any drugs. For that matter, they should test for nicotine and alcohol (and I'm a drinker BTW). If I'm paying for your shitty ass to live, you should get no pleasures. Your ass should be looking for a job and getting off gov't assistance. Don't be a welfare POS draining on our society. Don't like these rules, then F' off and get not money.
  2. Ummm, I just don't give a fuck. I normally skim over (at best) when I see bug boy post something. Most of the time it is unreadable anyway.
  3. You mean your parent's home. Unless you've owned a house since you were 14.........
  4. I've made many an LS1 get pussy hurt at the track with my lowly LT1.........
  5. LT1's have plenty of potential, and have ran 8 flat's on stock-style suspension and factory blocks/aftermarket LT1-style heads. So the potential is there for them for sure, and the aftermarket is good too. 93's: Unless you want to do something out of the norm, stay away from them. Tuning is different, tranny's are different (both 6-speed and auto), and just going to be more of a pain. 94's: From 94-97, the differences are small. 94, non-vented Opti. 95's: Vented Opti w/ OBD-I. Note, if tuning, you'll need an OBD-I cable w/ an OBD-II end on it, but they aren't hard to find. 96-97: OBD-II. Software for the OBD-II is more expensive. It DOES have an advantage if you are going to run the 4L60E with a stall over 3000, as some OBD-I PCM's have issues with that. But other than 93, any year will work. You can easily convert from OBD-II to OBD-I or vice-versa. It is cake to swap to a vented Opti if you are doing a cam swap. Before you fall for all the online BS, the Opti isn't that bad, and stock normally lasts 70-90k miles. MSD now offers a fully aftermarket Opti (or just cap and rotor). There are a couple coil-pack options that replace the cap/rotor as well. Or you can go aftermarket ECU and use whatever crank trigger/sensor your heart desires. Rear end's, don't bother touching the 10-bolt (that goes for LS1 cars too). Investing money into making it stronger is throwing it away, and gear swaps tend to make it weaker. Just save up for a 12-bolt, 8.8", 9", or Dana swap (I have a 12-bolt, and would suggest that or a 9"). Tranny wise, the LT1 T-56's seem to hold up a bit better than the LS1 units. When it comes to clutches, if you plan on making any power, take this advice: BUY A McLeod Street Twin. It is expensive, but you don't want to deal with the clutch battles I've dealt with. It's better to just buy a clutch one time and be done with the issue. Other issues to look for are leaking intake manifold gaskets (cheap/easy fix). Power window motors are crap on these cars (and LS1 cars too).
  6. I've had it for years, worked fine the last time it was used. Has been sitting in my utility room for 5 years now unplugged (no reason to plug in when I never fill up my fridge freezer). It's time for it to go. - Age: who knows, bought it off an old roomate, who got it from someone else. Safe to say, it's fairly old - Condition: Rough. Tons of scratches, some surface rust. NOT A SHOW PIECE. - Size: Approx. 3.5' long, 2.5' wide, 3' tall. Again, this isn't some pretty piece, but it does what it is supposed to do: freeze stuff. Never had any issues with it. Price: $50 firm. If you want me to deliver it, I'll do it for $20 more within 20 miles of Reynoldsburg (and your lazy ass will help me unload it off my truck). PM me if you want it. I hold items for no one; first person to toss cash in my hand gets it.
  7. Ask Nick, he knows a LOT about these cars, and will easily be able to tell you what myths are true and which are just exagerated crap. If you are interested in that motor, also look at the 1989 20th Anv. Editon Turbo Trans-Am. Same motor/tranny in a lighter car. They are rare, though, so do command a price premium.
  8. I know for trailers: Registered with plate: YES Insurance: NO, as the automobile insurance covers the liability side. That said, comprehensive on an open trailer is CHEAP, so it's stupid not to have it.
  9. The usual, one thing after another. I keep getting backup on my drain in the lowest part of my house (which is where the washer/dryer and utility room is). I bought $50 worth of sewage auger, decent snake, and heavy duty plunger, and it didn't do squat. Basically, if I flush my toilet, I better not do it again for 1/2 hr, or there will be a shitty mess. Yes, shitty mess. My house was built in 68, and I haven't found any sort of sewer cleanout the newer homes have (checked around the house, crawl space, etc.). The washer drains (through a series of pipes I snaked out) to the lowest drain. This is way beyond my knowledge base, and I HAVE to get this fixed. I've spread my funds very thin with the pile of projects I have going on, so this is not something I want to deal with. Anyone you can recommend that can get out here Wednesday, I'll give a call first thing tomorrow morning!
  10. #1: PCM...why? Manual valve body and never deal with it. Seriously, at high power levels, I'd rather control my own shifting. #2: By working in the chassis, do you mean buying one of the several crossmember kits out there, which aren't that expensive, a different lenght driveshaft, and if you haven't already done the mod, a torque arm that doesn't mount to the tranny (which anyone running that kind of power shouldn't have a torque arm mounted to the tranny anyway). #3: Parasitic loss; I'd like some actual proof of loss from a built TH400 vs built 4L60E. And I will be getting no conversion on my T-56, as I will most likely be getting rid of it. But I'm not going to spend a lot more money on a 4L60E on a inherentaly weaker design that I won't trust. I like trusting my driveline.
  11. Just so you people know, they still make this motor, so parts are very easy to come by. I just threw a new 3.0L crate motor into my Sea Ray last year, and they haven't done a ton of design changes (block on my old one was trashed, and you can't buy bare 3.0L blocks). Pretty easy motor to work on as well.
  12. Wow, those built 4L60's are expensive. TH400 is an easily built, proven tranny; sure you loose overdrive, but unless you are regularly doing top speed runs, or drive a bunch of miles, does overdrive really matter?
  13. That 914 just looks like ass for some reason; usually I like those cars too. But if I were motorswapping one, it would have a modded LSx in it.
  14. You mean the nets make the MPG better; that is what they were surprised by.
  15. I need two sticks, 512mb only, PC2100 (aka DDR266).
  16. Damn, I'd like to have some of that cash!!! I wonder how much is burried in the back yard that they haven't dug up yet!
  17. Imagine that; fat chicks with fat tits. (with a couple of exceptions).
  18. Wow people, way to skip over the best holiday ever! I missed it last year because I broke up with the broad I was dating a couple weeks before the holiday. I will say I'm very proud of my g/f. Not only did she buy steak, she asked around as to what steak to get, and bought several so I had my pick, plus gave me the option of taking me out for steak (which she offered to pay for). I've got an awesome g/f.
  19. Mine was very good. Went over to the g/f's condo; she bought several different steaks (a couple small filet rounds, couple bigger steaks). She said I could either grill them up (her grill skills = not so much), or we could go out. I decided to cook up a fillet round for her, and a steak that reminded me of the "ol' 96'er" from the Great Outdoors. The other part of the holiday was even better.
  20. I voted Sept, simply because the Formula won't be done by May. That said, I'll probably go to the May one anyway, as a tow vehicle.......
