The cams on those cars are pretty agressive stock. That, and currently, there isn't any way to tune them, so I doubt people have been tossing too many cams in yet. Exhaust wise, after 3500 RPM, the exhaust opens up to almost straight through, so it will sound loud WOT. I'm betting that is a stock car. 3100lbs + 450RWHP should be able to net around that kind of trap speed.

Not too shabby.....pretty decent trap. I'm sure there will be better times out there soon enough.

My dog is a german shepard/black lab mix (leaning more towards the black lab side though). Very good dog. The hip problems are common with a number of larger breed dogs. But much better than some foo-foo faggy small dog!!

Jesus....some of those cars were really dragging ass. That Pinto (or Pinto looking thing) REALLY took the rear tires off the ground!

I am assuming this is against company rules or something? Go to where the network connections are, and find the wireless router. Or if it is an open wireless connection (which is just plain stupid), then get on there, see that you are on your company's network through there, and report this to the appropriate IT person.

FS: JL Audio 12W7 and Clif Designs Amp Cheap!
Nitrousbird replied to MidnightREX's topic in Other Stuff
How much for just the amp. I don't need the subs. -
I had to suffer through that whole song just to not see her show her boobs. ACK!!!

+1. FWD is for economy, not speed.

That Awful Waffle is freaking ghetto. I made the mistake of going there after drinking one night, and all I can say is wow. Your average WH isn't exactly your classiest people at 2am, but that one takes the cake for sure.

Doubtful. Most of that employee pricing stuff doesn't apply to special vehicles like the Vette.

Man, wish I would have known about it too.

I just wouldn't pay it. God knows how many DeVry tickets I threw away. I was stupid enough to buy a parking permit the first semester. Well, a different car/different license plate, and I never tossed the new sticker in there. They didn't know whose car it was, so they didn't have anyone to bill. Of course OSU has real cops on campus, but if it doesn't go on your record, and isn't a City of Columbus ticket, screw it. Just like all the people too afraid to park in front of the meters at Easton; the meters go to CHARITY; the tickets go to charity, there is no backlash. My ex got ticketed almost daily there when she worked in Easton; nothing on her record, never paid a red cent to anyone for them.

Again, carbed and iron blocks. And yes, I fully get that you can go aftermarket EFI on those setups, and there are tons and tons of aftermarket Gen I high performance aluminum blocks on the market. Also forgot the dry-sump oil system; pretty useless to drag racers, a big-deal items to those making lots of turns.

You don't drive a truck, you drive a safe on wheels.

You are. You are comparing carbed BIG BLOCK Chevy's to a FI SMALL BLOCK. Not only is the motor a lot smaller, an all-aluminum w/ composite intake GEN IV SB is FFFAAAAARRRR lighter than an iron block/aluminum head BBC. But building a Wolrd blocked/world headed LSx would be the better bet. Getting much stronger block, heads that are supposed to be very similar to the LS7 heads, and I believe the World heads are also 5 or 6 bolt per cylinder as well = much better clamping force for the heads. Of course we aren't talking about a crate motor either. I'm still currious as to what an LS7 w/ a big cam, full exhaust, torque management removed, and a full tune will do. Once LS7_Edit is out, this will be discovered pretty shorty thereafter.

Any way to gently handle this neighbor problem?

My Jimmy is parked closest to their house. I've been letting the car roll out into the street before I fire it up (as sometimes I don't remember to park it in the street/no spots because a bunch of people are over). They haven't said anything to me yet. He said they never hear it start or me leave, just the baby wakes up. So I dunno if the kid is still waking up or not; I'll ask next time I see them. The car is in the culdasac now running for 10 seconds total; start it in the street, and pull off very gently at 1500 rpm or less....not loud at all. I listened to my roomate roar the car out of the driveway yesterday afternoon, and it wasn't loud enough to wake me up if I was sleeping, and that was in my own house in my driveway.....but I can sleep through normal noises too. -
Fastest Mitsubishi Eclipse in the world!

Wheel to Wheel's LS1 project went 6.86 @ 205 so far, with more left to go. Factory block, aftermarket crank (because really, it would be freaking RETARDED to push the limits of a stock crank when there are so many really good cranks out there). No one in the V8 world cares about pushing a stock crank; we actually have enough aftermarket support that doesn't require us to. And now the new World LSx blocks are coming out, there won't be a reason to push the stock block either. Please tell me you aren't one of those HP/Liter fags that think the x car is better because it makes more per liter. -

That's why we run 4's at 130+ MPH. Or faster than that N/A w/ 500ci. Or "street" cars into the 5's. Or if you want newer stuff, a thrown together LS1 has went faster. -

That's true. Besides, they rent that house anyway, but have been for years. I own my house (well, the bank really does), so I guess that means I outrank them. I'm just parking on the street in front of my house. That's adding a good amount of distance from their house. If that doesn't work, then they need to feed the kid some booze before bed. -

From what I read on other sites; the first video, the Camaro's nitrous didn't kick in for some reason. Second one it did. Vette dynoed 490 RWHP N/A. It was supposedly spraying a 100 shot, and that was tossed on there by some chintzy shop just for this race. From what I read, the Vette pretty much destroyed all of its plugs, there was no tuning done, and possible engine damage.....the kit was literally just thrown on there (rich guy owns the Z06 + other high end cars). So the Vette wasn't exactly running right, otherwise 100 RWHP shot on that Vette would have smacked around that SS, being it is a few hundred pounds lighter.

That block has been proven down to the 6's. How reliably it will last down there is hard to say. Probably won't be tested any further, since the new World LSx blocks are coming out now, and everyone will just race with those instead.

I'll see how parking on the street does and go from there (if I do go any further from there). Can't really ask him today, as the garbage man showed up around the time I left for work, and he is far louder than the Moostang.
