  1. So I just ordered the card from the Slick Deals link. My wife told me I would just kick myself for passing up that deal...that sealed it for me. Under $100 for a GTX 460 - there is no where else to find a deal nearly that good. Should be plenty overkill for my needs.
  2. First off, you can have more than one system. We have a Wii and a PS3. Honestly, the Wii mostly collects dust...the PS3 is used almost daily. The Wii is for specific kinds of games. I burned World at War for the Wii for the hell of it, and it just isn't the same. That system isn't meant for 1st person shooters. The Resident Evil for the Wii is awful as well, and I love that franchise. The Wii is meant for exercise type of games, action sports games, group games, and a few other things work well (Rock Band / Guitar Hero work well, Twilight Princess (Zelda) was fun).
  3. I feel I am living a pretty full life. I have had some very significant (and good changes) in my life every year for the past several years, and that continues up to this day. I have many things I plan on doing and want to do, and I will do them. Guess I just enjoy where I am in life. As for there not being any good women in Ohio - bullshit. There are, and those that say there are not, are not looking in the right places. And searching for a broad at a bar is NOT the right place.
  4. GT5 3D kit for the TV Nautica winter coat 12-packs of Sam Adams and Blue Moon's winter selections A couple of books I requested Some clothes Bottle of Kettle One Citron Box of wine (Crisp White - the only good one we have ever found) Robe Lots of stocking stuffer items That's from the wife - mom just got us cash, and haven't done the other family get togethers yet.
  5. Just started playing today. Like it after 1+ hours. Also got a 3D kit for Christmas. It is even better in 3D.
  6. I was thinking the same thing.
  7. - All guys in my family (dad included) got the Gilette Fusion Pro Glide Power shaving kits. All the chain stores are selling these, but in the non-power version. Had to go online to get it. - Dad got a nice organizer case with digital change bank. Also gave him a grooming kit. - Step mom got a fleece blanket, decorative fountain, Bath and Body Works stuff. Shared present was a Harry and David food gift set. Mom got a fleece blanket, decorative fountain (easy gift, what can I say), nice bath robe, and Bath and Body Works stuff. You guys spent a shit ton more than I did, lol!
  8. Figured I'd make a thread about giving, since it is the season and all. I gave my wife: - 24" 1080p LCD TV to replace her old school 20" TV in the kitchen - Bulova watch - Conair Fabric Steamer - she wanted it. Well, she asked for a shitty one, and I got her a well-reviewed (and imagine that, more expensive) one. - Nike iPod sensor + a shoe lace holder so she can use it w/ her iPhone - Panasonic Cordless phone + extra base; has Bluetooth syncing so our cell phones can sync to it as well Plus a bunch of smaller stuff...blanket, silicone iron mat, decorative water fall thing, nice fleece blanket, powered tooth brush sanitizer, olive oil mist sprayer, coupon organizer, etc. I did a TON of online shopping, and tried to get a awesome deal on everything I could find. She thought I blew the budget by a lot, and I only did by a little bit. She hooked me up with some cool stuff too. So what did you all get your significant others?
  9. - A GOOD set of subframe connectors is a must. I really like the Kenny Bell SFC's on my buddy's 96 SS. I have the SLP's, and they are uber beefy, but a little too heavy IMO. - Full exhaust - good long tubes to 4" Y-pipe to 4 inch catback. Check out the stuff from Mufflex: http://www.mufflex-performance.com/fbody_7.html - Cam. Those cars respond too damn well to a cam upgrade; you can get something that will really wake the car up without sacrificing fuel mileage - Lid. IIRC, 01-02 cars came with the LS6 intake, so you should be good there unless you want to go to a big cam/heads/etc. If you want to go further into the suspension, a torque arm and LCA's would be my next move. If you want to put some wider tires on, I'd suggest a cheap adjustable panhard rod. I personally would look at all of BMR Fabrication's stuff - top notch at reasonable prices. I'd go with a Spohn torque arm though. If you got a little spare change, buy a cheapo shock tower brace as well - you can find the used on the cheap.
  10. 15k. Looking on Autotrader, yours was in the high end for mileage for 05 STI's. Looking at asking prices for models with far fewer miles, I'd say 15k tops if the car was in pretty good condition. You can fine too many other ones with half the miles asking 16.5-19k (and knowing you can likely knock 1k+ or more off the asking price on a number of them).
  11. Or just have a Jailbroken phone and use this: http://appadvice.com/appnn/2010/10/jailbreak-pandora-hack-kills-skip-limits/ The repository in the link doesn't work, but the others I had on my phone found the hack in Cydia. I don't know if this fixes the 40 hour limit or not. Unsure about the sound quality thing either, though the sound quality seems pretty decent as-is.
  12. Funny, there are places I go that I get coverage where my Verizon phone didn't. A big one is Wayne National Forest, where I do most of my quading. I was lucky to get a single text message sent out on Verizon after 5 minutes of trying - I have full 3G data in the same areas with AT&T. I have a Sprint Blackberry Tour (work phone) as well...the coverage isn't anywhere near as good as my AT&T.

  14. 28MPG out of a 346ci V8 making ~300 to the wheels in a 3300-3400lb car - that's good mileage. That's what my wife's slow as shit 01 Nissan Sentra 2.0 she had, and her 2.0T Audi is about the same - both being 4 bangers making a lot less power.
  15. I think for your needs you are going very overkill with a diesel. A 5.3L Silverado would work just fine for towing a car or a few bikes. My Avalanche (5.3L) tows just fine. I have towed 4 quads and a dirtbike plus a truck load of guys and gear on my car hauler without any issues. I have towed an SUV with it as well. A 2wd Silverado would be an easy 1000lbs lighter too so I would imagine it would tow even better.
  16. Damn, that is a good deal. I may have to do that.
  17. Any opinions on the following? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814134123
  18. Can't wait to get this - hopefully this and a 3D kit will show up under the tree. I am stoked, especially since I have a bunch of vacation to play it.
