  1. How the hell can people not shift a T56? It's a pretty easy tranny to handle!
  2. Unless you are using it as a monitor, you probably won't see much of a difference on that small of a TV. But how small is your bedroom? Even at the foot of your bed, 32" is too small. I would look into a 42" as those seem to have the biggest discounts.
  3. - S5 came out in 2008. They all have 4 year/100k warranties - Used 08's with mileage in the 20k-ish range go for mid 40's. - If you buy used (you should), get it from a dealer, and make sure it has a CPO (certified pre-owned) warranty on it. That will extend your warranty another 2 years. By the time your warranty expires, you probably will be selling her anyway. My wife's B7 A4 has been pretty reliable. It is now approaching 50k miles. Only maintenance items we have had to do were tires, battery, and oil changes. Oh, I think I had to replace a taillight bulb, and the floor mats were a piece of shit, so I bought her a set of the Audi Sport All-Weather ones (which are really nice). IMO, if you want AWD, the S5 is the way to go, assuming you want a coupe. If RWD is doable...there is only 1 choice - CTS-V. Coupe or Sedan, they are both fucking tits.
  4. Installous is for adding cracked apps you could get from the Apps Store. Cydia is for adding stuff Apple doesn't approve of. There is a LOT more than just background themes on Cydia. You need to get SNES ADX, 3G Unrestrictor, MyWi 4.0, the Flashlight App (App store one is shit in comparison), and Winterboard.
  5. There is no benefit to the slim, other than being smaller. And you can always swap in a bigger hard drive if needed (I have an 80GB, and barely have anything on the hard drive).
  6. LOL, you have to be kidding, right? The Wii is probably the easiest system ever to play backed up games on. Mine has a mod-chip, which you can now get for about $40. From there, just download the .iso for whatever game you want from a variety of torrent sites, burn to a DVD (Wii doesn't like cheap-o blank DVD's, so go with a good name brand), and play as usual. At this point you can also do a soft-mod as well. Wasn't a good option at the time I modded mine, and probably is a bit more work to deal with, but is a free way to play backed up games. I have a ton of burned games for mine, though we never use it. I have the Wii Fit, and got it. $90 for the Wii Fit and game (got it before the expanded game came out), then just burned the game and sold the already opened/played game that came with the Fit for $55 on E-bay.
  7. 4.0.1. And I can't think of a good reason to update my 3GS beyond that. Too many good jailbroken aps to even consider staying non-jailbroken.
  8. I am paying $20.99/month, and it is now going up to $23.99/month. 3 at a time with Blu-Ray. That said, I average 6 discs a week, so I get my use out of it.
  9. There is no reason to spend 2-3x as much for a Mac laptop. Snow Leopard is total shit anyway. What you get really depends on what you want to spend. You might be better off money versus use wise to buy a off-lease business laptop. You can get a decently specked one, 15-17" screen, Intel Core 2 Duo processor, couple gigs of ram, for $300-400. Will likely function just fine for you for 3 years, then you can likely sell it for $150-250 then. I'm looking for a laptop for my wife, with needs similar to yours (web surfing, logging into her remote desktop, Office Suite stuff, mini-game playing, etc), I've budgeted $300 and have found a number of laptops that will work great, most in mint or near mint condition. If you want brand new and don't mind spending some dough, then I would go i5 or i7. Go test drive some laptops at Microcenter, Best Buy, etc. then find the best price online for whatever you like. I would personally avoid AMD. Intel has really just flew by them the past few years, and now only the cheap stuff comes with AMD in it.
  10. Last time I used (a month ago) there were still a lot of bugs to work out.

    DVD Rip

DVD Shrink to compress DVD's. AnyDVD HD for anything DVD Shrink can't rip on its own. I don't burn much in DVD's anymore...pointless when you can burn Blu-ray instead. I use BD Rebuilder for my Blu-ray compression, IMGburn for disc burning, and AnyDVD HD for ripping (plus all the associated programs needed for BD Rebuilder, such as AVI Synth, FFDshow, etc.).
  12. Dexter never cared much for cars.....

  14. The wing is awful. If they were lighter and not a stupid Hybrid, the CR-Z would be a great modern CRX. But it isn't.
  15. ANYTHING new (Microcenter, Tigerdirect, Newegg, E-bay, etc.) at ~$300 is a single core processor. Only laptop under $350 at Microcenter that has a dual core is a $300 refurb Dell, with a low-end Core Duo processor and not widescreen. Not a good deal at all. Far better off-lease deals at Tigerdirect. Tigerdirect has a bunch of those at better deals. I might have to check that out. I've found several used deals on E-bay that fit what I want and then some, so I may go that route. A couple at deeper discounted prices due to not having a hard drive, which would allow me to put a SSD drive in.......
  16. Bumper stickers are tacky on any car, no matter what they say.
  17. Wife's Audi got nailed early last year. She didn't do the right thing (get a plate / call the cops), but tried just calling the company...which didn't do jack shit, of course. Insurance paid - and it was a hefty bill for a bit of paint and a windshield!
  18. I want to upgrade my wife's 5 year Dell. - $300 budget - Must be in perfect or near perfect condition - Widescreen, at least 14" - If it has a "point stick" (little mouse control thing between the keys), that is a big plus, as she HATES touch pads and refuses to use them - Must have an Aero capable video processor - I DO NOT WANT YOUR SOFTWARE. Keep it, as I will be formatting it anyway. It is 100% worthless to me. - Dual core processor - At least 1GB Ram, prefer 2GB+ - At least 60GB HD, prefer bigger, really prefer solid state, but likely not going to find that at this price point. So, whatcha got?
  19. I have my buddies Blaster in my shed right now. I'm 225 lbs, and it has no issues scooting me around. They require a lot of rowing the gears, but because of how small/simple they are, they are very light weight. The ride is punishing though.
  20. We test drove one when my wife was looking for a car...neither of us were impressed. Didn't even make the list of cars to take a 2nd look at.
  21. Why is this lame joke in the passing lane? Moving.
  22. Yes, you can make a 20 year old 2k car with some money into it faster...what is your point? New vs. used isn't exactly a good comparison, now is it? You can also make a Z06 run faster than a ZR1 in a straight line for less money as well. The comparison was that they made the GT-R faster (AND COSTS MORE) than a stock ZR1, which was stupid argument. The fact they didn't address the transmission is even more amazing for that price. I don't personally believe in buying new cars, and believe in bang for the buck. I doubt I will own either car. Both are fast/nice. Both can scoot around the track...the ZR1 can do it faster, the AWD GT-R with a bunch of electronic aids can do it easier - go figure.

    Mac people

Why such a low overclock for such a mean CPU? My 920 is running 4.2GHz stable on air, and took very little work to get there. I would be more than happy to trade you CPU's.
