  1. we got it back together, we'll see how long it lasts....
  2. ok...the insides of the torque converter move around...I mean you can shake them around and if you put the lock up shaft into the converter you can turn the insides??? Should you be able to do that? Isn't that how it locks up? Now that I think about it his trans never locked in OD...just rev'd up and down....hmmmm *** oh, and it is a flexplate
  3. this is actually very common...it could be a lean pop also...is it a loud and violent back fire or just crackling? Do you have any leaks? Cool air can cause crackling. Do you have an adjustable fuel regulator? and or gauge? if you do then crank the fuel up a little bit, I personally think it's probably lean if anything, judging by your mods. Might want to check out the O2's - good luck! BC
  4. My buddy has this 4.0l Explorer 4x4 auto and it keeps breaking flywheels! It's just a daily driver and is stock, no big horspower or anything. We went to put a new fly wheel in it, bolted everything up and the now the damn thing won't even turn over. I mean we put a breaker bar on the crank and you can't turn the motor over, so we unbolted the tranny and then every thing turns over...WTF! U^$$^@#%^@&*^@#R%*(^) sorry...Any ideas? BC
  5. I personally don't care for Bee line...for one they didn't realize I was standing outside and I heard this bad ass Mustang hauling ass down the road....oh, look...it's my mustang...the dude was raping it...I asked them why they think they can test drive customer's car as if they were their own and they claimed it was because I complained of it pulling under acceleration...come on now! and the alignment was worth a shit! Go to Goodyear and the dealership. BC
  6. I'd say it's your throw out bearing...pretty common for these to go bad. I would raise holy hell with the service manager where ever you had it done! They should have replaced that when they were in there. That's like rebuilding a motor and putting the old oil pump back in...come on now! if you get mad enough and ask for his boss's boss then you might get somewhere. Threaten to write a letter to Ford about the poor service or something Good luck! BC
