The car originally was a SD setup, converted it to MAF....hmmm...I just don't understand the difference in the 2. I mean air is still flowing through a tube and a sensor reads the air right? What is so different about the blow thru style?
I've had both and by far 373's are better on a 5.0 with stock heads. With 410's you'll be in and out of your hp curve way too quick. The stock cam in a 5.0 is dead @ 5,500 rpms. I have 373's in my car and I can't hook in 1st and 2nd gear. What would more gear do for you? Just my 2 cents. If you have an AOD, then 410 or 430's all the way.
I went to the junk yard and got some 95 GT spindles, rotors, and calipers. For the rear I got a set of 31 spline moser 5 lug axles and used mid 80's ranger drums.
I say just save the $3000 for a blower. With heads and cam you'll need bigger injectors, TB, intake and a fuel pump as well. Is that all included in the price?
4400 lbs what the hell is it? I would just leave it stock...300 lbs of torque stock. Or, add a blower. How will this tank be used? Pulling something? Cruising?
Becareful using too much pressure, it will crack something. If you can sacrifice the rubber seal or even get to the crank, heat the crank up with a torch and then cool the bolt with cold water, then tighten the bolt and then back the bolt out.
