  1. The wear pattern isn't that bad, Heel Out isn't too extreme. It's not noisy, except over 90 just cruising, it whines a little. It's just the clunkyness, I hate it! Should I just leave it be? There isn't a ton of wear, or any that I can see, everything is clean etc. Maybe I can take a pic. Anyone wanna come look at it? Thanks guys!
  2. On the Mustang I have a set of FMS 373 gears that I installed about 10,000 miles ago and there has always been some excessive play in the drive train, you know...the knock back and forth at low speed and rpm's. It's annoying!! So anyway, I pulled it apart and the back lash is right at .012 (spec is .008-.015) and the pinion depth is in spec. However my wear pattern is "Heel Contact", which recommends I move the ring gear closer to the pinion (decrease backlash) while maintaining minimum backlash. The question I have is...how much will the back lash decrease when shimming the ring gear towards the pinion? I know there is a chart somewhere, but can't find it. I just hate trial and error! So for every .001" you shim towards the pinion how much does it decrease the back lash? EDIT - If I decrease the back lash (move the ring gear closer to the pinion), wont that throw off the pinion depth? Lord I hate this shit! redface.gif
  3. That sounds like a decent combo, makes me wonder how in the hell my setup makes close to the same #'s.
  4. Man Rick, you're just a busy little bee.
  5. Remember my black SHO? I ignored the noise for a while and one night @ about 7000 rpm the clutch detonated and almost came thru the hood. Not fun. Easy to rebuild though.
  6. Stock Short block, E cam, Stock Truck Lower, Cartech Bread Box Upper (blower intake), 75mm TB, Blow Thru MAF (who knows what the flow chart is), 42lb injectors (wayyy to big), Fox Lake ported Canfields and 1 5/8" equal length shorties (should have 1 3/4"). The runners on the lower intake are half the size of the heads. Bottom line...I hate buying parts twice and the parts are based around a TT kit. It will all come together some day
  7. Yeah, I have the MOST JACKED UP mismatched combo on the planet and some how within a few minutes RL and Poppa Lasota were able to find about 30 RWHP. graemlins/bubbrubb.gif

  9. I have a fuel pressure gauge you can borrow, i'd start there. I'll PM you my #.
  10. I say go for it, It's VERY realistic. Just watch the fuel system. One little hick-up and it's bad news! check your damn PM's! don't mke me come after your ass!
  11. BBK makes a nice X pipe. X pipe and Borla's sound awesome!
  12. That plate they added reduces turbulence, which will lower high end drag
  13. Stock roller cam is best for low end torque. A E303 Cam is definetly NOT the cam you want if you want low end torque

  15. Ok, you might have one too tight causing a valve to hang open at high RPM. What method did you use to adjust them? Is it popping? If so, does it come from the exhaust or intake?
  16. Might have a bad lifter or push rod. Chevy rockers are adjustable right?
  17. Do you have any head work done? Maybe a valve isn't sealing. What kind of rockers to you have? May be out of adjustment. Even though your springs are new, 1 may be bad, you never know.
  18. I'd check the valve springs.
  19. Use a blow torch and heat the pan around bolt, take a sharp chisel and hammer to knock the bolt loose.

They had something on the news a while back, about the Orange shit GM uses. I guess it eats shit up, like water pump impellers. The thing is, GM isn't a doing a recall and if you use the green shit it will void your warranty. I dunno. Shit.
  21. I use Hawk HPS. NO dust and little fade.
  22. No offense, but based on the questions you're asking, I'm not sure you should be playing with Nitrous. Educate yourself first, I know that's what you're trying to do here, but you need to find someone to help you with this. I mean like side by side to show you the in's and outs of Nitrous. Why are you trying to make a 1996 Grand Prix 1/2 second quicker in the 1/4 mile?
  23. Does it do it in Neutral? What year is it?
  24. If you're coming from the South side, heading towards Dublin (north), right as you cross over West Broad, there is a little "cubby hole" on the left side of the freeway. Cops park their car there, stand on foot and clock you as you come up over the hill. No warning, just boom, there he is standing almost in the fast lane clocking.
