  1. You're still down south right now? Maybe somewhere down there on a weekend soon. I've not done Lake Hope yet, but have heard it's not too bad. Maybe a good trail to start the season out.
  2. Sometime soon at Alum then. We should do a monthly CR meet at Alum, at the very least. I'm planing to ride a lot again this season so should be up there a few days a week.
  3. Don't you have like 5 bikes? :bangbang:
  4. In. I should be there tomorrow after work around 6pm too.
  5. Congrats... time to get snipped?
  6. Where are you? I was going to make fun of you for not wanting to drive 1/2 an hour if you lived in Columbus. If you are in Ashville (north of Circleville?) then Great Seal is probably the closest.... but I don't suggest that trail being your first mountain bike experience. The little red ring means don't ride there until you get some lungs and legs unless you are a marathon runner. http://www.spokejunkies.com/reviews/index_ohio.php Bikes all done, who wants to go riding after work this week? I want to test out my new toy. http://www.geomangear.com/images/MJ816WGMG/816front3.jpg
  7. Decided to clean and adjust a few things, then felt some dragging in the rear hub, so it's apart now. Nothing wrong, but going to repack the front and the rear hubs. So maybe later today... maybe not. Why didn't I do this during the winter? Oh that's right, I have even less free time then. Let's make a plan for a CR day, next Saturday @ 10AM Phase 2?
  8. Thinking hard about a next 'new' car in probably a year or so, with thoughts all over the spectrum. Wondering what the V6 with the track package would look like. :bangbang:
  9. Possibly going today, anyone?
  10. Like V8 Beast said. Nowhere did he ask about it being forgiven. He was simply asking what happens. Even if it was him in the situation he would have simply been trying to educate himself about the situation he was in. In addition, I will say that I think moving into a house without a decent down payment is a bad idea for these very reasons. That's why we are saving up now, but not 'jumping' on the $8k. I will also say that moving into a neighborhood, city, or state and buying a house where there is obviously a big bubble is also a very bad idea. Though sometimes life situations dictates that you do things that might not be the best decisions in the long run. Despite that I don't think anyone can sit here and point fingers that someone made a bad investment because there was an unforeseeable crash in the housing market. That's just kind of a silly. Also, if someone bought a house before the crash, and is still making payments on their house, it's not their fault the banks and other bad home buyers who've foreclosed lately fucked up the market.
  11. So you're saying you would owe 15K more than what the house would sell for, in this hypothitical situation. My understanding is that someone has to come to the table with that money. Just like selling a car, you can't sell the house and give the bank less than what it's worth. And you will get less than what the house sells for with the 7% going to the relator's. Be ready to come to closing with 20K. Which sounds like a horrible idea even if you have the money. Just stay in your house for a few more years. EDIT: Joe already said it better than I did, but I hadn't read that yet. I see now that you are not talking about yourself. I wouldn't liken this to trading a car in and rolling over the negative equity. I think that should be an illegal predator practice anyways. I'm sure it's not legal in the housing market or you would see it happen. You are not trading your house into a bank, you are selling it to another individual. So if you sell your car to another individual, but have a loan on it. You have to pay it all off, then you get the title to hand over to the buyer.
  12. Mike, thank you for pointing that one out! Scene instead of seen drives me insane. I hate their, there and they're mix ups too... but I can kind of understand some of the confusion. They are homonyms, so I'll give you a by and just assume you have an IQ somewhere near 85. Scene and seen are completely different. Unless you're some retreaded hill billy who thinks spelling words correctly 95% of the time is OK they aren't even pronounced the same.
  13. Doe itttttt.... I just want to ride in one.

  15. For me, I'll pick the SLS. Faster and I think it looks better.
  16. If I had 183k lying around and I had to buy only 1 new car, I'd be hard pressed to find pressed to not buy this car. What would you buy instead?
  17. Along the same lines I'm very impressed with the turbo 4 cylinder you can get in that car and the Hyundai Elantra, and I'm sure some others soon. 274HP and 34MPG on the highway in both of those cars. I actually like the looks of the Sonata better I think. Looks like a little Genesis or a rip off of the VW CC. http://www.autoblog.com/2010/03/31/2011-hyundai-sonata-turbo-new-york-2010/ "CEO Krafcik says Turbo will come in at "less than $25,000 nicely equipped.""
  18. I voted yes, in theory I would. Like others have said, that's a steal for renting a car like that. In actuality, I could find much better ways to spend $125. And we spent almost $100 for lunch today. If I'm going to spend $125 on a 'toy' type of thing right now it's probably either going to be bike (mountain bike) or car parts.
  19. Eric, not everyone who smokes is a pot head. Cigarettes, alcohol, and even pop (sugar and caffeine, can be very addictive) are every bit as much of a 'drug' as weed is. Everything is not so black and white. Weed is only a 'bad drug' because the government and nanny's says it is. You'd be surprised about people who smoke weed on an occasional basis. They can be productive members of society too. There is no good reason for pot to be illegal, especially considering that alcohol and cigarettes are legal. P.S. I'm sure you think I don't smoke weed, and you are right. Partially only due to laws and mostly because it's not worth the possibility of losing a job. Otherwise, yes I would probably be an occasional smoker. Just like I occasionally smoke a hookah or a cigar, which is on average probably once every six months. I know that those are (physiologically) bad for me and that's why I don't do them more often.
