  1. While a kick ass place, I think he was implying somewhere you can buy it to take it home (i.e. a six pack).
  2. That's what I was thinking. No one is going to walk into a dealership where no one they know works and talk a tech into doing side work.
  3. http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/1506/?view=beerfly Never been there, but I think that's the place you are looking for. I actually keep meaning to check it out sometime. Anderson's off of swamill has individual beer's on the endcaps. But they are usually higher end, more expensive beer's. Not any of the 'regular' good stuff. I think you can mix and match at world market too. They have an ok selection of beer.
  4. I agree. I'm not trying to get him too down. I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that you, and most of the people you are talking about opened up their own business from their own idea from the ground up. That's a lot different from starting/buying a franchise. You can start a business like that form nothing and build it over time. A franchise cost a lot of money up front and over the first year or two. I think that's the biggest thing everyone was trying to point out the op. I'll start my own business at some point, and it will be with the earlier idea (being starting it form the ground up, not a franchise or anything of that sort).
  5. I though you'd chime in since you know him and his situation more. I was trying to remember when he opened up. I knew he came over here for new years at our new place with you, so it had to have been this year. I thought he said wasn't quite open yet. Guess I was remembering wrong. I peer in there to see if he's there the few times I find myself around there to pop in and see how things are going and I've not seen him yet. I did figure if he wans't out front then he was in the back or at home doing managerial work, paperwork, planing.
  6. It highly depends on the franchise, but that's probably a nice round number. Unless you were talking about Subway specifically. I know a guy who opened up his first Jimmy John's this year with plans to open up more. For reference http://www.jimmyjohns.com/franchise/investment.aspx Or a more expensive one. http://www.sonicdrivein.com/business/franchise/own.jsp http://www.aboutmcdonalds.com/mcd/franchising/us_franchising/purchasing_your_franchise/new_restaurants.html As others have said and you'll see from those they all have upfront cost, require you the ability to secure loans, and have liquid capital (cold hard 'cash') for operating cost until you should be able to turn a profit so you don't go under in the first months/years. This. I was going to ask him where he was going to get his seed money from. Not everyone has a mommy and daddy that can buy them everything.
  7. Anderson's. They have a Christmas gift set with a glass and 4 bottle's right now. I think I've gotten a regular 6 back somewhere locally before. I'd bet it was at Anderson's also. I have had this stuff before, not too shabby. Not something I'm normally into, so not a huge fan, but I wasn't a huge fan of Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale either. Just don't like that type of beer that much I guess.
  8. Don't kid yourself, he's no Tim 'Quarterback Jesus' Tebow.
  9. Have an XBox 360 with the following 20Gb w/hdmi out (cable not included) Forza 2 & Marvel Ultimate Alliance combo Guitar Hero Aerosmith Guitar Hero 2 Guitar Hero 3 2 Guitars 1 controller Charge station w/2 battery backs Originally refurbished, but in like new condition. I don't play it that much. Would like to trade for Wii with some stuff... extra controllers, guitar hero stuff, Wii fit. If you are interested let me know what you have and we will see what kind of deal we can work out. I'd like to trade everything, if I trade the XBox, the XBox stuff does me no good.
  10. He might want to add the 'not funny no matter where you are' icon too.
  11. Sweet, did he get tasered at the end? It looks like it took 2:30 for security to get there? Not 1 single person in that cube farm area would stand up to that guy. After he hit that woman with the monitor it would have been lights out.

  13. Not knowing whether you are religious or not, it's easy to assume the earlier. I think it should be all about getting together with your family, but that's just me. I want to worry about getting together with my family for Thanksgiving before I get Christmas shoved down my throat.
  14. Which car? Was Eric hand timing it?
  15. Stop posting video of you girlfriend. Seriously, why would you post that shit?
  16. I would have lit that shit on fire. BURN IT TO THE GROUND
  17. http://green.autoblog.com/2009/11/20/aptera-update-backstory-uglier-than-we-knew/ Actual story has links to other stories to give a full picture. Almost applied for a job there before the crash, glad that didn't come to fruition. Though I would have known what I was getting into. You kind of have to assume with a tech startup that things might go south at some point. Not saying that things are over there, but the writing is on the wall. Here's to hoping they get the DOE loan.
  18. We should go back to Christmas's roots. http://www.thehistoryofchristmas.com/ch/before_christ.htm Oh, you were implying Jesus's birth... at least that, without the mythology of a virgin birth, was a real event (assuming Jesus the man actually existed).
  19. They put the Christmas tree up at work already. Christmas lights everywhere. Fuck that shit. What happened to waiting until after Thanksgiving?
  20. Hmm, why not go to manual windows and locks? Why keep the center console (I understand the dash)? Going to gut the old dashes out and put a plate in for aftermarket dashes? And the important part, what's going in it?
  21. Just got home to take a nap. See you guys there in a little bit after I get some zzz's in.
  22. Check to see if there is a dime in the lighter. Depending on the location it can be easy for one to fall down in there. It's the perfect size to touch the bottom and sides (that's what she said) causing a short. I've no idea if the lighter runs off of the same fuse as the radio in that particular car, but that seems pretty common from what I've seen. Edit... hmm, this usually will cause the fuse to blow right away, not after a while. Do you have an after market radio in the car? I put one in an old car I had and all was fine until a song came on I liked and cranked it up, blew the (vehicles) fuse. Stock fuse was meant for the stock radio which probably had about 1.3 watts of power compared to the 20ish per channel that after market radios have. Fuse in the back of the radio was bigger than the vehicles fuse for that circuit.
  23. Beat me to it... but I found a picture. http://www.wicked-t-shirts.com/specials/img/IMG-lay-pipe.gif
