  1. Doesn't go right with the back of the car. Just 'cut' them off so the are more level/parallel with the back of the car.
  2. Those wheels are the shit and look amazing on every other car I've seen them on. They just don't 'go' with this car. Though sometimes CCW classics (or something that's as customizeable as they are) are the only way you can get the rubber you want to get to fit.
  3. I didn't think a car could look bad with CCW classics, but there's a first time for everything. To each their own.
  4. Lol, captain obvious strikes again.
  5. I was thinking something along those lines. Do something to restrict/quiet the current exhaust down, then if it's too much, put in an (electric) cut out for when you need to open it up.
  6. To expand on the hitch mounts the other consensus was that 1 1/4" wasn't strong enough, that you 'need' a 2" receiver. I was just thinking it could be very easy if he already had a hitch. I hate those trunk mount death contracptions. No, if you have a truck, put it in the back of the truck. End of story. Unless your some road biker spandex wearing primadonna with a $10K bike... then you still put it in the truck bed, but put a mount system in there so you're not just tossing it in the back. Hitch mounts can do 1 thing, and they do them well, and that's to carry a bike (or two or three or four). They also do this with little of the aero drawbacks of the roof racks. But they can't do anything else, which is where the added versatility of the roof mount systems are nice. I bike and ski, and a cargo top would be nice for trips. I would love a roof mount system, but I can't justify the $$$ right now. Might still piece one together from craigslist/ebay after I do some more research to see what all I need and if I can do it for a reasonable price.
  7. Good man.... ...but that bride is so hot, don't you want to be that guy? And if you did get married, you know you would want to get married by Elvis.
  8. Let me know when you decide to do that so we can tag team him because I too have decided if he doesn't buy Ken's I'm going to Falcon punch him. http://i438.photobucket.com/albums/qq101/addadiktome/FalconPunch.gif
  9. The new STI's look fucking sweet IMHO. Don't have anything really productive to add as far as which one's better for what, etc, don't know a ton about these cars. I don't think you can really go wrong any way you cut it. Not saying that what you are doing isn't a good idea, it's great to know what you are getting into. Honestly if you are wanting to buy brand new, I'd go drive them and see which one you like best. With as little real difference there is in between the cars it will probably come down to which one you like the best, for whatever reason, or which one just speaks to you when you drive it. If you are ready to buy NOW, you'd be pretty dumb to not buy Ken's evo.
  10. I thought I remember you looking different. :grin2:
  11. Down in South Carolina and I've seen so many ugly ass donks it's not even funny. Was in Florida prior to this and it was the same story. Someone please show me 1 single car like this that looks good, even decent is ok, so there's some sort of logic in my head as to why someone would justify doing this.
  12. Happy late Bday hommie. I'll get you a drink or 10 next time we are out.

  14. That just gross. :barf: Getting married for a third time, congrats I guess....

  16. Lol, fair enough. Do you have a hitch on it? I was just asking about racks on a bike board I'm no the other day and about half of the people really liked hitch mounted racks.
  17. Do they need to be outside of the car? If you have a blazer, unless the car is filled, you should be able to throw the back seats down and easily fit a bike or three in the back. $40 is dirt cheap for one of those, and you should consider that one expendable and be happy if it last for very long. GL on getting one chepaer than that.
  18. I would think his car would have to have a check valve in it already, all boosted cars much have to, so he doesn't shove boost into his brake booster. So as long as he puts the canisters in after his check valve (as long as his stock one isn't built into the brake booster, which they sometimes are), he should be all good. With there being non-boosted versions of his car, I wouldn't be surprised if the master power was a common part and they just make a different vacuum line with a check valve in that line somewhere. This is obviously just speculation though and he would need to know, or do some research on this.
  19. I was waiting for someone to pick up on that one, though I couldn't have hoped the irony of who caught it would be this awesome!
  20. I've never heard of that ability with a 'base' aftermarket HU. I've seen some add-on's out there for steering wheel control, but don't know much about them. Just that they do exist. http://www.crutchfield.com/g_118900/Steering-Wheel-Audio-Control-Adapters.html?c=3&tp=476&avf=N
  21. Hope he gets better soon! He had an open compound fracture of his femur, that's never a good thing. Sounds like that's taken care of now and that's, on the surface of things, the most serious thing that happened. Info on femur fractures. http://orthoinfo.aaos.org/topic.cfm?topic=A00364 Cliff's notes, lots of possible bleeding. The broken sharp ends of the bone grind against the muscles causing extreme pain and can cut the main artery that runs through your leg. You can loose a quart or more of blood into your leg with no external bleeding, neglecting the fact that in this case it was an open fracture.
  22. Well regardless of making more or less power, short shifter or not, from my expierence it's 1 or 2 of the snycros that have issues first, then the others start to follow. Usually not as drastic as his case, but you never know. Given the little info we have I bet it's a combination of some issue with that particular snycro, some missalingement of the shiter/linkage (whether from the stock parts that were never touched and/or the short shifter), and shifting hard into second gear more than others (on the road going from a light fast, you will start in 1st, shift to second and then you'll be going fast enough so you will let off and shift to a higher gear). At any rate, if it were me, I'm wouldn't bet on the dealership being logical or fair. They could even try to say that since it's modded he must 'abuse' it and it just happened to be the second gear that he abused first and that's why it's having problem. I'm more coming from the perspective that ansonivan is saying. I don't know the car, but generally speaking it's really, really, easy to replace an intake. 20 minutes=less possible hassle at the dealership. If I were him I would go as much back to stock as humanly possible.
