  1. I've heard of using that tranny in that chassis before but don't know anything about it. What's the skinny. Does it fit well? Bolt right up or need custom mounts? Connect straight to the stock driveline or need a custom drive shaft? Same bolt pattern on the bellhousing or need a custom one? Are the actuation systems for the clutch the same? Do you need to make any custom linkage for the shifter or does that just fit? Just general stuff like that. TIA.
  2. He's not even joking about this or spouting b/s just becuase he owns the car and is doign this. Anyone's who's ever watched Toyota Atlantics run knows how they sound. Almost every other small formula class based off of a production engine is based off of some current 4 cylinder n/a engine, and every one of them sounds like shit except for the Toyota Atlantic cars. It sounds like a little F1 engine. Cool project. I know someone who's on here but doesn't post anymore that will be very interested in this project. Good luck and keep us updated. That much power in that chassis should be plenty for what you are trying to do with it.

  4. Is it a manual? I know the tranny isn't there but I need to know for other stuff. ABS or non-ABS?

  7. Video There were two guys on a bike riding together through the thrift store parking lot last night, they came over from the Ala Baba Cafe. The video I took with my digicam didn't come out good, but I found another video of them.
  8. Do some research on that company? See if you can find anything on the forums for any of the vehicles they make wheels for. My main concern with a wheel is whether it is made well. A side benefit is looks. If it's not made well that could cause safety issues. What happens when you hit a pothole that's big enough on the highway? Does that good rim bend or does that shitty rim shatter causing a blowout? If they peel, that's an issue but you can always get them painted again. My guess is if they are physically made well they aren't going to skimp that much on the painting, the add says they powder coated them.
  9. I've only bought really small stuff from, but have been really happy with them too. Same location. They had the watch batteries for my key fob there that I hadn't been able to find anywhere else. They had a generic version of the properitary battery for my small digi-cam that I'll buy there once I need/want one.
  10. I thought you couldn't buy high impedance injectors that large?
  11. Plus I'm guessing with that catchy name it's a Motorola which just helps to increase the likelyhood of it breaking.

  15. Now that sounds entertaining. It's usually just cars cruising by with a bunch of people sitting in chairs. They get on the throttle a bit from time to time. It's cool because it's supposed to be, not because it is. I'll have fun looking at a lot more cars a lot closer in the day time, under inside lights, at the show. Then at night I'll go drink somewhere or anything else more entertaining than watching cars go by below the speed limit on an, at best, well light street at night. Seriously, what difference does it make at that point that they are very nice old cars? You really can't see them anyways.
  16. Hwizzel, you thinking about going? I'll probably be up to spectate for a bit.
  17. I'll be up at the show at least one of the days. Every time I've been to the 161 area after any show it's been lame. I think I'll pass.
  18. Ken, I know your huge and all, but don't go trying to hurt yourself.
  19. I'm going next Thursday. My first time out there, I'm pumped. I'm sure I'll have some good stories and will post as well if I can remember and don't lose my camera. Batchelor party in Vegas FTW!
  20. I'd highly suggest checking out serving at a restaurant. I worked for three summers while I was in college and right after I got out of college at some restaurants up in the airport. I made VERY good money for just being a summer job at an average place. They really don't even have to be super nice restaurants. Just talk to some people you know who work at some and see what kind of money they make and how they like working there. I took home 90-100 in cash average per day there. Sometimes it will be 45 but sometimes it will be 200+. The people that work there are usually really fun. It was a really good experience too and if you spin it right, looks really good in the people skills department on the resume and during interviews. I had done all kinds of jobs up until that point. There was a reason I kept going back ever summer to do it. Oh, and most places are really flexible with hours. Just check before you start. I only worked summers because I didn't go to school in Columbus. I knew quite a few people that went to school in Columbus and worked there full time while not in school for the summer. Then when school started up they would not work full time and they would work around their schedule.
  21. Well... I was thinking about venturing to my 'home' side of town on the weekends at some point.
  22. I haven't been there in forever. Maybe I'll have to visit it next time I'm down visiting family. I have family around Daytona Beach and Orlando, but stay in Daytona Beach. We've barely missed a few launches. Been there days they were supposed to launch be postponed. Two different times I can think of we forgot they were launching, then heard the thing (mind you this is in Dayton Beach!). Obviously by the time we hear it we look up and it's only the trail form the rockets, the space ships already gone. Sucks you missed it, that would be pretty cool to see one that close.
  23. Make sure it's the same brand fittings and line.... some different brands work ok together and others are nearly impossible. I haven't done too many but I've found it seems a lot easier with two people. I've never tried it by myself but I'd imagine it would be quite a bit harder.
  24. Ban, they've contributed nothing positive to the board ever. Entertaining for a while but that's it. It's not even entertaining anymore, just annoying. Respect gets respect on a personal level. I don't care how fast someone's car is. They've shown zero respect for this community and therefore don't deserve to be here.
