  1. I'm sure they will right now, but we don't really want to get into work place drug testing in this thread. Even though it's probably headed that route, it's already been beat to death. I think it's great, and it will probably eventually lead to other cities, the whole US, and work places where it doesn't matter not caring. I'd love to get high every few months, every six months, once a year, just like I love to smoke a cigar once in a blue moon. But I don't because of the possibility of losing my job, which I don't agree with, but can't do very much about right now. Yeah for substance abuse!

  3. AFAIK polishing any metal will reduce its coefficient of thermal conductivity. This means that during any combustion process less heat will be absorbed by the metal, and it will also give off less heat. This will also lead to a more efficient process overall, as far as energy in/energy out. Whether this is a good thing or not, I'm not sure. I would venture to say that your EGT's would rise, but this is just a by-product. I would want to say yes because heat not absorbed into the combustion chamber should be more heat to expand the combustion chamber. Just mainly trying to explain why polishing stuff on the inside can reduce the propensity for detonation. I say ‘can’ because it depends on why you were detonation in the first place. Reason polishing metal will reduces it’s coefficient of thermal expansion. Think about it just like friction. Before, at a microscopic level, the surface might have looked like this /\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\ Now it might look something like this. /\------------/\---------- A lot less surface area in the second one.
  4. We wish you all thought that way.
  5. Yup, you can definitely still see mine if you look, just not nearly as noticeable and shouldn't crack anymore.
  6. Cool, thanks man. Does anyone have a link to the ‘ratcheting’ style clamps as I’m having a hard time picturing what they look like? I was having a hard time with NAPAs website when I tried to find it. Thanks for the info on the serrated tool too!
  7. Which style of clamps are you guys talking about. IIRC unless you spend some money on ones that are designed not to dig into stuff (constant torque style ones), it's not a good idea to use them on something like this. If they are a stereotypical worm band it can dig into the rubber and damage it. I've already ordered the 'kit' for $20 that comes with these so if I can find somewhere/somehow that i can make/borrow/rent this tool, I'll use them. They are good enough from the factory for 5years/100kmi. That's not what failed.
  8. Betina (sp?)>any other chick on this site
  9. Thanks everyone... I'll probably pick up that set at NAPA. Noone rents this tool? Kris, what shop do you work at?
  10. The clamp/cripmer that is used to tighten the one use clamps. Need to replace the CV boot and the kit that is being shiped comes with two of those bad boys. You can see the clamps and the tool on this page. At least this is the only pic I could find of the tool. I'm not sure if the VW/Audi special tool is this exact tool, similar to this, or different. I just need some sort of tool that can crimp this type of clamp. Also, is it 'regular' for parts/tool stores to carry inside 12pt bits? I might need to remove the whole shaft and these type of bolts is how the front half shaft is connected to the tranny/transfer case. TIA.
  11. I think this is maybe a GM 'policy'. It’s stupid if you ask me. Rumor is that they are going to use the 2.0L version for the turbocharged Solstice.
  12. No, seriously, I did. But he said his name was Joel. Must have been drunk and confused himself with one of his apostles.
  13. I spotted Jesus behind the couch yesterday.
  14. Oh you have no idea. You're about on insult from an intraweb beating. :woowoo: So, I'm a 'child' for calling you gay, but when you do it, that's ok? It's not my fault you get a raging boner from the picture of those two Japanese guys.
  15. WTF, you guys share a user name together? That's an interesting way to come out of the closet.
  16. So, you getting even fatter down there in Athens yet? :asshole:
  17. Wife... damn, haven't talked to you in a while. Sorry to hear about that, hope she is ok.
  18. Walk bow legged from getting the strap on all night. You laid down easier than a submissive hooker. There's no way you're not the one that's recieveing the reach arounds this evening if you 'partner' (code named "wife" for those who don't know better) decideds to be nice for the night.
  19. Wow, what a way to lay down like a little bioutch. I sure hope for your sake you are not in any kind or relationship, because if you are, you are definitely the catcher. Welcome to the kitchen.
  20. Umm, part of the power that is running your computer right now is very contrary to that statement.
