  1. The SS/TC is a MUCH better choice over the SS/SC. It's more than just a engine change, much of the car is different. (suspension, brakes, seats, etc). The Sky is a horrible choice for a daily. There's no room for anything. The HHR SS can be had with a manual and same Brembo's that are on the Cobalt SS/TC. If you need more space than the Cobalt you could get the 260hp wagon. The styling is subjective. The GTO would make a decent daily, and it would need snow tires for winter, but so does the Cobalt.
  2. I don't hate Japanese cars, but the car in your sig is stupid looking; solely due to the excessively long, poorly routed oil cooler line. Way to take a nice car and ruin its clean design with some stupid fad that makes no sense. If you like that look, then I've already pigeon-holed you into the ricer, wanna-be Togue racer, that constantly tries to tell everyone how much they've immersed themselves in Japanese car culture and their car was built to reflect that. If I'm wrong and you just like the old Celica design and the amount of work that individual put into that partcular car, but agree that the oil cooler looks stupid, then you should change your sig.
  3. When we lived at my wife's condo we (and everyone else in the complex) had to grill just outside our garage for this very reason. No grills allowed on deck's or balconey's due to fire code.
  4. Agreed. This is why I loved the Sport Compact Car "Ultimate Street Car Challenge." Then the mag went under. The Fastest list is all about straight line. If you want to have a road course list then you could have a Mid-Ohio or Nelson Ledges list, but trying to do an "Ultimate-type" list would have so many rules that no one would ever do it.
  5. I honestly wish they would have brought the RX8 out with a 3 rotor. I still would like to pick one up used since it has great handling and the ability to safely hold a child seat.
  6. With CF wrap... I like RX8's and that's not too bad of an intro but I don't really care how much you spent on service.
  7. Yeah, I have family that has a house on Saganaw Bay. A few months ago I was looking at property and accidently searched up there. I found something like 60 acres for 100k, all wooded. buckeye - I would love to make it out. I'll have to see what's going on. I'm supposed to be in birthing classes with my wife that Saturday.
  8. The food stamp guy is in the Saganaw area, the lottery winner that shot his daughters landlord is in Detroit. Buckeye - Metro beach isn't in the heart of Detroit. You have nothing to worry about there.
  9. http://www.freep.com/article/20110517/NEWS06/110517023/Michigan-man-still-food-stamps-despite-winning-2M This makes me want to punch someone. Also, this story comes out a day after a powerball winner from Detroit shot and killed his daughter's landlord because she was getting evicted for not paying her rent. Seriously. He won several million dollars, after splitting with some co-workers in a pool, and his daughter can't pay rent at a POS apartment, so he shot him in the street.
  10. You sure about that? That Mustang isn't over 400 ft-lbs until ~3800 rpm. The Camaro is over 500 ft-lbs from 2500 to 5500 rpm, and doesn't make less than 400 ft-labs through the entire rpm band.
  11. WE GET FORECLOSED! ...wow...

  13. Sound like he's afraid of you because you are black. He should be happy he doesn't live in my neighborhood. We have 7-10 year olds with birt bikes that ride 45 mph up and down the street and through the protected wetlands and the parents don't care. The same kids once stood on the sidewalk and tossed paintballs in the air and hit them with a baseball bat every time a car drove by. I watched other kids ride their bikes into my neighbors garage door probably ten times. It was so loud that I could hear the impact three houses away. They were 'playing a game.' I applaud you for monitoring your kids and respecting your neighbors, because around here no one seems to respect their neighbors and they let their kids run wild.
  14. The Avanti's are sweet aircraft. A few weeks ago we could hear one taking off from a nearby airport. Very unique sound, jet aircraft speed with prop fuel economy.
  15. FC swap or 240 swap seems to be the cheapest to me.
  16. Nice, welcome. BTW, AJ, my friend did something similar for his Eagle Talon that had a dual runner intake manifold. At a certain RPM (not sure if it's linked to throttle position too) it will trigger a solenoid and switch to the short runners. At first he was talking about using a shift light as the trigger, but not sure what he ended up with.
  17. Nice. I like the blue one on page 1.
  18. Out of those I would take the CX7. I went on a similar shopping trip last August and we ended up with a new Chevy Equinox. It's not fast, but it moves ok for what it needs to do, it gets better mileage than anything in the class, and you seem to get more features for the money. It seemed to be the bests value in the class. Also, have you looked at the new (2011) Dodge Journey? It's worth a test drive as it's been greatly improved and is now a contender in the class.

    School Levys

That sucks. Must be a Michigan thing. Almost everyone I know has had their home value adjusted lower (and these are nice area's too with good schools). Or maybe the Ohio gov't is resisting it more.

+1 Don't forget that with everyone's property taxes getting adjusted lower, the schools are losing a decent amount of funding even before any policy changes are made.
