  3. Hopefully it works then! Looking at some of their examples, they do a few things specific to the iPhone interface, but nothing too special. More like "if iphone, then..." Java's really pissing me off right now! The iOS SDK is a long d/l, ugh gonna have to cue that up again when my laptops on a charger.
  4. kickass - I found an open source code compiler for smartphone apps. If you write in java it will compile for iPhone, Android, and Blackberry. Thoughts? I d/ld the Android SDK and got part way through the iOS d/l. To d/l the iOS SDK you do not need to pay, but you have to register. You only pay if you want to publish, AFAIK.
  5. Borders near my house is going out of business. It may me a good time to go look for a Java book for 40% off.
  6. Well, it appears fairly intuitive, but there's a lot of formatting I have to learn. Pretty much, I'm reading some things on the web and example code in order to make my own. I've been spending my lunches tweaking code, loading the emulator, tweaking again, loading the emulator, etc. It's driving me nuts when I don't know why it doesn't work right.
  7. You could always write it in Java and compile it for use in both Android and iPhone. I'm actually trying to do the same thing, so I'm trying to learn Java in my free time. It would be a lot easier if I had someone that could just program it, but I don't want my idea stolen.
  8. UK = Imperial Gallon = 4.55 Litres US = US gallon = 3.79 Litres http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gallon
  9. ~2850-ish to 3100 lbs. The 2.4L's were lighter, and both the V8 conversions and the turbo models come in around 3100 lbs. The Hot Rod Solstice had all carbon fiber body panels, so it was lighter. In reference to that Mallett 427 turbo, that much power with such a short wheelbase could make for a crazy ride. There were a lot of pics floating around at one time of that car getting built.
  10. There were both base model and GXP coupes. The base models are actually more rare. 1266 coupes were built, including preproduction. Only 12 model year 2010's were made. Total breakdown: 850 GXP's, 416 base 2.4L's. Of those, 1057 sold in US, 122 exported to Mexico, 87 to Canada. Black was the most popular color at 388 cars. Teal metallic was the rarest at 1 car, specific for 2010 Canadian market.
  11. Uhh, the GXP coupes were 2.0L SIDI Turbos rated at 260 hp/260 ft-lbs. With the factory stage kit it's rated at 290 HP. The GXP's were stickered in the high $20's to low $30's, but some dealerships were charging more for the coupes since only a couple hundred were made. One just sold at Barrett-Jackson for ~$55k. Also consider that the avg. sales price of a car today is $29k, and $30-35k doesn't sound too bad. The coupes are hot, and if the economy didn't dump on me at that time I would have one. I still want one, but I don't think i'll ever find one for less than $30k.
  12. There are a few companies that offer LSx swap kits cor the Sol/Sky. Prices range, but this shop is around $25k for the 600hp LS7 if they do the install. And tack on more $ if you want to upgrade the radiator, have functional A/C , true dual exhaust, etc. The DIY kit is about $3300. So, Solstice coupe new ~$35k Conversion $30k Wheels ? widened fenders? intake? brakes $4k Penske coilovers $4800 etc ??
  13. Yes, the Hot Rod LS7 Solstice was awesome. I still have all the mags detailing the build. I heard through the grapevine that the car was crushed, but hopefully that's not true.

  16. Been following this build on a Solstice forum and thought other's would like it as well. I haven't had my Sky for about 2 years, but this had me logging back on... RX8

They look cool, handle well, and are fun to drive. I have wanted one since last summer, since I've seen the prices coming down and it should be relativly easy to get a baby seat in and out without driving a mom-mobile. $6k? Is it a manual? That sounds like a pretty good deal to me. I can buy a lot of gas for something that cheap.

    Boss 302

I would only drive it with the Red key. That car is hot.
  19. I was just talking to another memeber on this board that's doing an E36 swap and I told him I wanted a swapped 318Ti hatch. I would be interested to see pics of your progress.
  20. Then why did he run like hell? And what's a 16 y/o doing with a gun? And why fire it into the air, because you'd be arrested for that too? Sorry sir, I didn't mean to shoot that hooker, I was pistol whipping her when the gun accidentally went off.
  21. If you're leaning towards a sandrail, i would look at the Local Motors Rally Fighter. Otherwise, most of the other suggestions are good...S14, Corolla, E36, etc. I would do an Ultima before a GTM, but most people that buy kit cars end up hating life and it never makes it out of the garage.
