Berto, I think with all these insane torque figures getting thrown around, i think you'll start to see the displacements downsized. Maybe next time it will be a 5.0L with 'only' 600 ft-lbs.

You can get AWD on either. At first I thought EVO as well, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

I actually don't think it looks too bad. It still looks 100x better than the SS's with that awful factory body kit on it. I'd still rather have a CTS-V though. It's not. It's a vented hood, not a scoop. http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2011/02/03-2012-chevrolet-camaro-zl1-1297265363.jpg http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2012-chevrolet-camaro-zl1-0/#3861826

That's amazing! Why is he playing at UConn!?

I gotta say, at first I wasn't a huge fan of the new Charger's style, but the SRT has won me over. Sadly, it will not come in a manual, but it should still haul ass. They're quoting 0-60 times in the 4 second range. http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2011/02/01-2012-dodge-charger-srt8.jpg Beauty Shots: http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2012-dodge-charger-srt8/#3860574 Pics from the show: http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2012-dodge-charger-srt8-chicago-2011/#3863776

I believe they are trying to quote what it would cost to try to build your own ZL1 using the performace parts catelog and a current SS.

Those guys built the Grand Cherokee, and they werd fired. Along with others that were caught last week. It happens in all lines of business, all across the nation. That plant could employ 700 people, but a handful get caught and fired for their actions and you want to condemn the entire company. Jones, go drive something new out of Chrysler. It's really is a changed company, and its vehicles are completely different. It might be the same platform as a Sebring, but almost everything is completely new. At least after you drive one your whining will have more credibility.

The 300 is built in Ontario. The 200 is built in suburban Detroit (Sterling Heights). If they used a car built in Canada with the tag line "Imported from Detroit" they would probably catch more flack.

Chrysler's commercials in the last few months have all been theamed, "the things we build define us." These commercials can be funny, like George Washington driving a Challenger at the British army, or they can be serious, like this one. This commercial was all about taking pride in America, and American built things, not specifically pushing the 200C. This ad had soul. Sure, of course they showed the car, but they didn't list one feature about it. I don't care what you think of the 200C, or the old Sebring, or any of their cars for that matter. This was a seriously awesome, powerful, "America FUCK YA" commercial. Kid Rock does Chevy commercials. And Eminem is definitely true to Detroit, so I'm not sure where that comment came from. P.S. The VW commercial was also great, but on a different level.
-
It said "Imported from Detroit" and he was in a 200C. I think you and Jones missed the point of the commercial. It's not about the car, it's about the city.

Audi's commercial had Kenny G in it. 'Nuf said.

...has to be the best one this year. It's nice to see someone showing some pride and passion for Detroit. All of their commercials have been great lately. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SKL254Y_jtc&feature=player_embedded

The 2012 Bentley Continental GT: Is anyone here a fan of these?
Mallard replied to Doc1647545523's topic in Passing Lane
This being CR I'm surprised no one has said this yet, but 567 HP out of a TT W12 is pretty conservative. I'm sure to meet their noise requirements they have pretty high back pressure on the exhaust. Think what that thing would do with downpipes and exhaust work! -
Alibies - the 190E Cosworth you posted is an EVO2, which was sold in very limited numbers and not in the US. Good luck finding one under $50k right now.

I love these cars and the SuperSports actually perform pretty darn well. To me it's the ultimate daily. Quiet, comfortible, safe, fast, AWD, and wonderfully styled. What more could you want? I think the new face is an improvement and they're offering a V8 version as a 'downmarket' option. -
I still miss a lot of things about my MSP. It's impossible to find one unmodified. Although, I don't think it will ever be a collector's item. For me, the couple I thought of would be: 1. 1990+ Nissan 300ZX TT 2. Merc 190E Cosworth 3. Dodge Steath TT and if the budget was more like $30k, it would be a no-brainer: 2010 Pontiac Solstice Coupe.

It was a bust in Detroit. We got 4-6" but everything's still closed. Lots of drifting though.

Keep it where it is or roll it into something that remains tax deferred (IRA, new 401k, etc.).

+1 I totally agree. If you actually talked to him the way you wrote this post, you deserved what you got. Act polite and respectful, don't mouth off, and you would have been out in a few minutes. Court is the place to argue and 'point out inconsistancies in his story," not the side of the road.

Battery tech is all that's holding things back on full electrics, along with the time to recharge. However, ALL future automotive technology (Hybrids, Electrics, fuel cells, etc.)will benefit from smaller, more powerful electric motor tech. The great thing about the Volt achitecure is that it's versitile. You can replace the gas engine with anything; fuel cell, more batteries, larger engine, diesel engine, etc., and it doesn't require very much new development. The motor he's using in the White Zombie is pretty cool too. In order to get more power it would require a larger diameter motor, so instead he bolted two 9 inch (?) motors together on a common drive shaft. Several others have followed his lead, but I think he's still the fastest. There was at least one 240SX running a "siamese 9" last time I checked. I think that would make a fun project, but I still think the full electric superbikes are cooler.

I like them a lot. I've driven a 3.6L DI, 3.0L DI, and a 6.2L V. I see a lot of them on the roads up here in Michigan in the winter (even a few V's) and most have no problem. A guy in know in Ontario just put snow tires on his 3.6L DI AWD and it obviously handles the snow great. GM get's an A on this one, My only complaint was that the passanger side floor pan has a bulge by the center tunnel (guessing it's for the AWD transfer case) which takes away from the pass. leg room. My wife disapproved because of this. Not sure if that's only a feature of the AWD's or if it's in the RWD's too (since when I drove the RWD's I didn't have a passanger, and didn't care to sit over there).
