  1. The gills are a love-it-or-hate-it. Mustang BOSS is ~3600 lbs Camaro ZL1 out of the question? (I guess that may end up heavier than the BOSS)
  2. Neither. If I were in the market I would be buying a C6 Vette Grand Sport. You get the Z06's dry sump (with the manual), wheels/tires, anti-roll bars, and body. The suspension is different, but most have said it's the best ride and handling of any C6. It weighs more than an Z06 because it has a steel frame instead of aluminum, but you also get to keep the targa top. OR Go back to the Mustang and buy a new BOSS. I never liked Mustang's, but the new 5.0's won me over, and the BOSS is just BAD.

These injectors have never been used and come with connectors and pins for converting your harness. $220 OBO I live in Detroit, so this price is SHIPPED. 5. Dang, and I thought bad things came in 3's!

    NOT WINNING

It sold out in Detroit in 18 min. But everyone that went said it was horrible. They booed him off stage and the show ended early.
  7. The boss has a side exit exhaust that has block off plates from the factory. All you gotta do is take them off. He must have used the red key on that run.
  8. I've seen and sat in a couple and I think they're great. The old Durange was a giant POS that made me vomit in my mouth, but the new one is in now way related to the old. It rides on a stretched version of the new Grand Cherokee platform which has very good quality, ride, and handling. The Hemi's have good power but so does the new V6. Get the HEMI if you're towing, get the 6 if it's the wife's baby shuttle. I honestly don't think you can go wrong with a new Durango.
  9. Yeah, that's why I say someone should contact Conti about being a sponsor. Their Vmax tire is certified to 360 kph (224 mph) and they have done several high speed trials with tuned Porsche's to prove it. It looks like they only come in 3 sizes though, so that doesn't help everyone. The good thing though is tires are rated for a SUSTAINED speed, not a burst of speed. So this tire certified to 224 mph has gone extended periods of time at those speeds and could handle short periods of time at higher speeds. Street car tires capable of going these speeds, like you said, are almost non-existant. I would just use caution if you know you're on a tire that isn't capable, and also know that each time you take the tire over it's capable speed you are weakening it. It may do 280 mph once or twice for short bursts, but the strength of the tire is deminished with each run.
  10. http://www.conti-online.com/generator/www/de/en/continental/automobile/themes/car-tires/summer-tires/contisportcontact-vmax/contisportcontact-vmax.html Someone should really contact Continental about being a sponser so they can say they're "the official tire" of high speed racing. I would have emailed the guy in South Carolina already, but I don't work there anymore.
  11. Yeah, I understand the point you're making. Where do the rules end? And I agree. In my head, if you sign the waiver you are accepting the risk and absolving the race organizers of any wrong doing, but we live in a world where this isn't always the case. People will sue over everything and lawyers will always find ways around waivers. I would hate to see such a cool event ruined because of the few people that want to be stupid. I honestly don't care if they have a cage or not, but when they reach a certain speed they should be requiring tires that can withstand those speeds. Otherwise, you're just playing with fire. I can't find a link to it on CNN.com, but we constantly have headline news on in the break rooms at work and they ran the story and showed the pictures a few times. IIRC, it was also in the bottom bar with all the headlines - "Lamborghini crashes at 250 mph..."
  12. When the Lambo crashed it made CNN.
  13. +1 I'm sure putting on an event of this size requires the organizers to carry some sort of insurance. Once people start getting hurt or killed the insurance rates will get be so high the event won't be able to be put on any more. That's basically what happened to rally racing in this country, but RallyAmerica's been doing a decent job.
  14. The Heffner kit looks like they took the time to avoid putting the intercooler(s) directly on top of the turbine housings. But then you're also trading one giant intercooler for two smaller ones - which probably weigh more. Obviously the UGR set up performs well, but at least Heffner's isn't a blatent copy of someone else's work. Who would have thought that Gallardo twin turbo kits would be so popular there would have to be 4 shops making kits to support demand.
  15. Yeah, and also look how the factory roll hoop is pushed in farther than the drivers headrest. The driver was completely open to the elements.
  16. No kidding. Doing 220 mph in a car with just a roll bar is stupid. It that's the rules they're going to play by, then it's only a matter of time until someone is killed.
  17. Yeah, I wanted that car BAD. There were some of these cars running around and a college classmate's dad brought one home on a weekend and let him drive it. He said it was a blast on the street. I'm sure they could have made the Versatrak handle the power, but if I had to guess, it was killed before the engineering resources were approved.
  18. GM did it with a concept Impala SS. They used an LS1 with Corvette (?) accessory drive, and I'm not sure what trans. I have the old GM High Tech Performance mag with all the details on the swap. Doesn't make it a good idea though.
  19. http://www.cnn.com/2011/OPINION/03/20/bergen.libya.us/index.html It's yes, it's an editorial, but it's one I happen to agree with and supported by facts.
  20. Jeffro - If your talking about the silver car in that pic, that's a Brabus Smart car, not a Tata.
  21. Nice purchase! I just saw one of these at Home Depot yesterday and it had the typical rusted out rear fenders. I always liked the CRX and after seeing that one yesterday I started wondering what I could find a clean one for.
  22. That was awesome. And he did it all in a pinstripe suit.
