  1. I had one on my Mazda and it worked like a charm. Several times I was hit by laser at a higher speed only to slow down and switch it off. Never got a ticket when I had it. Eric (The Benz Guy) may be right though...if they know you have it they may try to get you with obstruction of justice...never heard of it happening though. I used a Blinder that was mounted in my front lower grill next to where my front plate would be. You wouldn't notice it unless you were looking for it. I don't trust the kind that mount inside the car on the windshield.

    audi R8

By building them all off the same platform.
  3. The Veyron is only electronically limited when you don't have the "special" key next to the seat engaged. Going 253 mph on the ground takes A LOT of HP. For it to go faster then 253 it would need a lot more power. Just look at the Koenigsegg. It did 245 mph with 800 HP and a lower coeffecient of drag then the Veyron. The Veyron only has 200 HP more, wich at that speed isn't worth much mph.
  4. Yeah, kind of freaky...Tony George is his stepfather and he also owned the car that he hit.

  6. OH SNAP! It's funny cause it's true
  7. very tempting. Can you post some pics? Is this your car or are you selling for a friend? How do you know it's a blown motor? Will it even crank? Does it have a clear title?
  8. Is the blown motor the only problem? Should a new one drop right in and be ready to go? Auto or manual? Type S or not? Any pics? Ballpark what are you looking for ($)?
  9. Then why did Sebastien Loeb win Rally Mexico on the 5th and take the points lead in a Citroen? It's still Ford, Subaru, Citroen, and Peugeot. And Suzuki announced this week that hey are entering. Does anyone know where I can d/l this video to my computer? I hate streaming video that I can't keep.

    VW fast?

R32's were 30-32k. Same price range as a STi or EVO. The HPA kits are insanely expensive.
  11. It depends on the vehicle. If it's something slow selling, then that may be possible. Supplier discounts help too if your new job will help you get one of those.
  12. Torque will always be greater then HP until 5250 rpms. Most diesels don't rev that high anyway. The lower HP rating on the Audi is for the same reason. I think they said it makes peak power between 4 and 5000 rpms. Because of the broad torque curve they were able to use a 5 speed tranny instead of a 6. This reduces the number of shifts in a race and also allowed them to make the gears stronger without increasing the overall size of the transmission. Both shoud help their reliability during the race.
  13. You can also try soap or cut a grape in half but leave the skin connecting the two hemispheres.
  14. The SRT isn't AWD. Plus, why would you be afraid of that? EVO's and STi's have no problem with it. Ive been driving Calibers and Jeep Compass's at work the last month and I like them more now then I originally did. They are VERY capable is bad weather. They can be pretty versitle and for the price they come with a lot of optins that other vehicles in the class don't.
  15. If you eat more then one bowl at Mongonian BBQ then you don't know how to do it right.
  16. I'd bet no. There are two Camaro concepts that are traveling to shows, but there is only one Challenger built and it stays on the auto show "A list" for the first year.
  17. Doesn't Titan Motorsports use E-85 on one of their drag cars?
  18. My MSP was one of ~2500 and one of ~500 blue ones. It had a 450 Watt Kenwood stero from the factory with MP3 player, upgraded suspension, turbo, seats, shifter, steering wheel, brakes, etc. Mine was the only MSP I know of that had a full race suspension with camber plates. I sold it in November though. The cars I've been driving at work have a lot of unique features...The diagnostic modes you can get into on the dash is one thing, but I was in one car where you could run 0-60 times, and most of the new DaimlerChrysler stuff has real time tire pressures on the dash.
  19. City ordinances suck. I don't believe that's a state law. When I went to Myrtle Beath I couldn't buy on Sunday either. Michigan doesn't sucks because you can buy liquer at a grocery store. None of this 42 proof or less BS that Ohio has.
  20. Out of everything I've driven or seen mentioned in this thread I would look at these: Jeep Liberty - Only if you can find one with ABS and ESP. You can find REALLY cheap lease prices on these right now - brand new. Saab 9-3 - Might have a hard time finding one for a reasonable price Chevy Equinox - I actually like the look of these and I think they have "Stabilitrak" Olds Intrigue/Grand Prix - i haven't had a problem with my Olds, however as far as steering feel, handling, and stability in adverse conditions I am not a fan. Mazda Protege/Protege 5 - I loved mine and know a lot of people with 5's that feel the same. Mazda 6 Lincoln LS - Maybe a little too big for her, but they are nice cars, good handlers, and ESP. After driving a ton of different cars and evaluating their performance with ESP/ESC (Stability control) on and off I will never reccommend a car to a friend or family member that is not equipped with it. Anything that is going to be driven in all weather conditions should have it IMO.

  22. Check your info...Holden sends cars to Europe as Opel/Vauxhall(sp?), and to the Middle East as Chevy.
