  1. http://www.msprotege.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=72015 Here's his graph with torque.
  2. Generous, possibly. Put 325hp/370ft-lbs to all 4 wheels at 20-22psi. He has since added HKS cams and runs C16 @ 26-28 psi at the track. It's a 2.3L stroker with a EVOIII 16G. It's a full interior, daily driven street car, and he pulled an 11.9 in the 1/4. (He's not much of a drag racer so he only tried twice to break 11 sec) Yeah, the turbo is out of it's efficiency range at 28psi, but the powerband is perfect for autox and road racing.
  3. The Haltech F10X only controls fuel. Schall, He said he didn't have traction until 3rd gear on street tires. He's putting his drag slicks on it soon. I'm still suprised that a lot of people are amazed that a 2.3L can have that kind of power. DSM's have been doing it for quite some time (my friend has over 400hp on a 16G), Saab's, Ford's, Volvo's, etc. I'll be getting over 300 out of my 2.4L without much effort.
  4. I saw this thread on the Mazda Forum. There is a graph with torque on page 2 or 3. As impressive as it might be, there's still not point IMO to put a turbo that hits full boost at 6000rpm when redline is 7000. The car already went a 11.9, didn't it?
  5. More proof that the only way to make something fast is to put a small block Chevy in it.
  6. W2W does some great fabrication work. That looks like an awesome set-up. Although, a friend of mine was far from impressed from their chassis dyno operators.
  7. Yeah, I know about the build book, but I posted that link because it specifically said when the motor blew on straight nitrous, which a couple people suggested.

  9. On a 2.2L an EVOIII 16G would offer a quick spool and a broad powerband. Nut everyone else is right, there's a lot mroe to it then just the turbo. Wheel2Wheel powertrain sells a cast exhaust manifold for ~$500, that's a start.
  10. The only thing that can help you get a foot in the door is related job experience, and it sounds like you had that. If you have experience that a company is looking for your GPA doesn't matter as much. But if you're trying to get a good job with a bad GPA and you've only delivered pizza you're going to have a hard time. If you're not book smart get involved in school sponsored activites or clubs related to your field.
  11. If you're discouraged by the job market you should be driven to try harder. It's getting harder to find jobs so it's that much more important for you to do everything you can in order to make your resume marketable. Part of that is a good GPA. It might not sound like a big deal, but it can get your foot in the door. Wease- His M3 is a Mazda3, not a BMW.
  12. The "off" button basically turns off certain features.
  13. Well if you wer playing around and getting the car sideways I can understand it. The "off" button isn't really off, it's partial/sport mode. It allows you to hang it out a little more and gets rid of engine traction control.
  14. Yes it is You'll never fully appreciate the ESP system unless something happens on the road where it saves your a$$. The LX system is really good and it's a lot of fun in partial mode. Unless you're driving an SRT you don't have a full off mode, so when you hit that button you still have ESP and brake traction control, but there's no engine intervention so you can spin the tires. BDHG940 - That shouldn't be happening unless you're feeling brake traction control of ESP keeping you from getting too sideways. Oh yeah, and I'm not sure what you mean by the Hemi sounding like a 4 cylinder. Every one I've driven sounds pretty mean. The Daytona's are louder and sound pretyt good IMHO.
  15. $3500 bucks isn't bad for what you are getting. Plus, if that's too much you don't have to go for stage 3. I'm sure you've spent enough on other stuff for the car to pay for a turbo kit. If you want HP in a Cavy then your other alternative is buying a cast manifold from Wheel2Wheel, sourcing your own turbo and intercooler, and having someone bend and weld some piping for you. HPTuners should have software out for the 2.2L Cavy soon if it's not out already so tuning shouldn't be a big issue.
  16. Two tone paint jobs only work when the dividing line of color is not the edge of a body panel. When done that way it just looks like a junkyard conglomeration of random body parts. The 2.2 is also referenced in that book. Hann Racecraft has a turbo kit for J-body's that seems to do pretty well. Their Sunfire runs 12's.
  17. Saleen is rice for Mustangs. Always has been, always will be. The focus package is just a body kit and nitrous. Off the bottle an SVT Focus is faster, and will handle better.

    Mazda 6

Not too sure on Mazda 6 stuff. HiBoost sells a turbo kit for the 4 cylinders and I think there's a V6 version in the works. For CAI's I would check out some of the venders that sponsor the mazda forum, like (as much as it pains me to say it) StreetUnit. I think companies like Injen and AEM manufacture CAI's for that car. The best bet is to hit http://www.mazdaiii.com and look in the 6 section.
  19. Speculating weight at this point is rediculous. The Camaro Concept is built on the Zeta platform that wil be used on the new Holdens and possibly more RWD GM NA vehicles. The current GTO weighs ~3800lbs and there was some weight added to make it US legal. The new platform has been designed with these provisions and should not hold as much a penalty for US homologation. Will is be light? No, I'd expect it to be in the same neighborhood as the GTO or CTS-V (~3800ish). Why will it weigh so much? Well Lutz wants the base vehilce to come in at a low $20k price point. To do this the body will no doubt be steel (same reason the Solstice weighs 2800lbs and starts at $20k). Every single Audi you posted costs tens of thousands more and has an aluminum body. A fair performance comparison? No. A fair styling comparision? Sure, all car designs are constantly discussed no matter the price point. But none of this really matters since the car isn't even going to be built yet! You're arguing about a fictitous car, with fictitous specs, and how it compares to a car that's tens of thousands over its fictitous price tag.
  20. It's no FTO. http://www.veilside.com/fortune/index.html
  21. There aren't that many hotels in the downtown area that I would stay at. If staying overnight you're probably best driving north to Troy or Rochester. Especially if you want to have a good time going out at night.
  22. I was impressed with the suspension articulation the FJ cruiser has from the factory. Looks like it should do well off-road.
  23. It was in the basement because I believe it was a design students project, not a Toyota creation. Cool none-the-less.
  24. A kid I went to school with built his own turbo kit for his Tc. At 12 psi he smoked a stage 1 SRT4 from a roll. Now it's tuned for 15 psi. Not a bad little car IMHO. To get anything decent new it's going to cost you in the low $20's.
