Reminds me of a night I spend playing blackjack at the Bordwalk
-
Well as some of you read last week I was pissed off at some idiots posting on the Mazda Board. Well today I log on to find a thread titled: "A paint question and I got jewed!" Not only that, but his post went on to say: The first reply said: Followed by such gems as: There's a correct usage for that? I'm glad that CR is one of the forums on the internet that's actually moderated. Not only that, but I can't believe that people are actually defending his use of the word! If someone had used the "n-word" in the same context people would be up in arms and they would probably have him banned immediately. Fuckin a I hate ricer forums! Not only do I need to open up my own shop, but now I have to start my own forum.

haha, reminds me of the Family Guy episode

Yeah, I wish I had access to equipment.

It's 8:30....put the bottle down

Possibly...I should clarify: When I said "Not sure about that turbo" I meant I know nothing about it. Not taht I had doubts about it's power capabilities.
-
Not sure about that turbo but with his engine he could make that power on the turbo that comes on my car stock. And there's someone selling one on the Mazda Forum for $250 right now. Is his manifold already made? If so, what kind of flange is on it?

IPS and Jegs won't have them. I have been searcing for months, including the Jegs web site. The only one's I know of that will work are the H&R's and they will cost me about $200 and be 5 mm too wide. Then I'd either have to turn them down or roll my fenders and they still might rub. I was hoping someone with some equipment and/or time would offer to make them for cheaper. For the price it would cost me to run the H&R's I might as well spend an extra $200 and get a third set of wheels. I'd rather not do that since my kitchen already looks like a garage.

I've searched far and wide to find some wheel spacers for my car and am coming up dry. Does anyone know a good place to buy some? H&R doesn't make any that fit my car and the ones summit carries are truck wheel spacers that make it look like I have a fake brake disk behind my stock wheel. OR: Can someone here make me some wheel spacers? I need: 10 mm think (might need 12 mm, but don't want to roll fenders for 15mm) 67.1 mm hub center diameter 5 x 114.3 mm lug stud circle diameter

Hopefully not a repost since it looks like it's been on Big-boys.com for a while. But too funny not to post again. http://www.big-boys.com/articles/impala.html

http://www.kodakgallery.com/Slideshow.jsp?mode=fromshare&Uc=r9nmta5.b147fdut&Uy=hbb8p1&Ux=1 It's worth it to take the time to looks through all his pics and read his comments. Gives you the perspective from someone at 'ground zero.'

Could someone with an EVO, or access to EVO brake rotors take some measurements for me? I'm looking for 1) the height from rotor face (friction surface) to the top of the hat, 2) the thickness of the rotor, 3) the diameter of the rotor, and 4) the stock wheel backspacing. I'm only concerned with the front brakes for now, but if you want to do both front and rear for me I'd appreciate it.

Correction -- $3462 for 66 HP. OH WAIT! But he's offering a 7% discount if you order it all together!

ok so let me vent for a minute... A few days ago a vender on the Mazda Forum made a post that basically said 'I bolted $3000 worth of parts on a MSP and went from 135 hp to 201 whp. 66 HP gain by bolting on all these parts and turning the boost up to 9.5 psi. I'll sell you all these parts in a package.' Seeing as how I dynoed 160 whp stock and 135 is the lowest number I have ever heard, I asked what kind of dyno he was on. ...DynoJet, same as me. So I told him those numbers seemed low and asked him if he knew why and he said, "Yeah, they seemed low to me too. Not sure why." So I asked him what other info he had from the dyno, like pressures, and he didn't have anything but a/f. So he starts going off on me about trying to bash his company and people are always flaming him etc, etc, but never had any answers. So I nicley told him that dyno numbers were good to have, but they really don't mean anything without other data. And that as a vender he should have a car properly instrumented when running tests on his parts. That way if the dyno is lower then every other car on Earth he might have an explanation why. He didn't even know what stock boost he was running until 2 pages later when I'm pretty sure he just made up a number because I kept asking questions. Well, either way he continued to flame me and others joined in because they siad I would "scare another vender away from the Protege market." ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME!? I asked three questions, 1) what type of dyno, 2) why was your stock number low, 3) Don't you think you should have tried to find out why it dynoed lower then any other car on the planet when you're trying to sell parts, AND I'M THE ONE OUT OF LINE!? People would rather buy parts from someone that can't back up their claims then have someone ask questions a vender should be ready for?? This has seriously pissed me off that the venders only answer is that I'm just there to flame him while others stand behind him blindly. $3k in parts to make 66 HP...ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME!? I just need to start my own shop so things can be done right. /venting

I just threw up in my mouth a little bit.

Structural as in it's not something that's holding the car together and that could mean your life if it failed. Vaccuum bagging will get all the air bubbles out and keep the carbon dense (no ripples or air bubbles after it cures.) Other advantages would have to be researched because I haven't worked with it that much. All the tubs/cars I know of made out of CF are vaccuum bagged and cured under high heat in a pressurised oven (autoclave). I wouldn't make anything structural without those means since the end result depends so heavily on the process you use and how controlled it is. For our car we made bodywork, seats, dashes, radiator support and shrouds, etc.
-
If it's not structural you should have no worries. All the CF on our Formula SAE car was wet lay-up.
-
yes it can be laid like fiberglass without a vaccuum bag. Depends on what you're making though.

Ship some ladies up here please.

Read all the fine print before transferring your balance all around. A lot of cards can advertise 0% but they have floating interest rates after a certain date.

Does Brian ever read the board anymore? Brain, I see you're a SCT Dealer. They are supposed to have the software for my car out this November. Have you heard anything about this? I need to dump this AFC and start tuning directly through the stock ECU. I WANT!

Before the hurricane hit land they said the levy was only designed to survive a level 3 hurricane.

I believe you'll be seeing it in dealerships about a year from now.
