  1. There's a lot more different between engines then just the S/C and PCM. I don't believe it's possible to bolt the L67 S/C on to an L36. Not to mention the higher compression of the L36.
  2. Yeah...I noticed that he only has 200 whp at 4600 rpm. Talk about top end.
  3. I saw 3 today...Black, pewter and silver...that car is hot but it can be hard to tell from a distance.
  4. 'local' = Canton area. Yea, Shep's car is fast.
  5. But why only 18psi? A GT35R is barely working at that level. What rpm is he actually spooling at? On the dyno chart it looks like ~4500rpm.
  6. Use a dandruff shampoo and rub it into your scalp with your bad hand. That will surly clean all the brake dust and germs out of the wound.
  7. Why are you only running 18psi on a GT35R? Isn't that a waste of the turbos main efficiency range? That's such a large turbo on a 1.8L (?) that I'm not suprised you have to wait two weeks for the power to come on.
  8. I've heard that this is not what you want to do. BIG PAPA - Maybe you can clarify this for me, but my roommate was looking to buy a house and he said that for a mortgage when looking at his credit history they frowned on him only having one card. The lady told him to have at least 3, even if he doesn't use 2 of them at all. Above all she told him to never cancel a card if he doesn't use it. Is there any truth to that? When loaning money what factors get people better rates or approved easier?
  9. She brought that car to the Toledo event too back at the beginning of June. She's the head of Corvette Marketing. The new Z06 is sweet. There are a few floating around my area. (much like everything else that is not out yet smile.gif )
  10. oh, whoops. Forgot about that. You're right, he's putting it on his GN.
  11. p.s. I just read the thread you're talking about and I think you missed their sarcasm.
  12. Desperado - You just matched my sentiments of the last few weeks. I laugh everytime I read people post on the Mazda Forum how awesome someones car is if they have the AEM Standalone. People will switch from Haltechs, SMT6's, etc, because they believe that the AEM automatically gives them more power. "OMG!! It's teh ROX!!!1!" (and yes, the AEM may have additional features, I'm strictly talking about people using it for fuel/timing) Megasquirt is just another tool used to tune, and how the engine runs is the result of how good/bad the enduser is. Not how pretty the software looks. My buddy just built a Megasquirt for his turbo Integra so I'll be watching to see how it runs.
  13. For the amount of money he spent on the stock engine from the dealer he could have had a fully built motor and a piggyback so he could actually tune the thing. He could have been running 13's in the 1/4 safely. There was no need for an education. The work was already done and he was broke with no options. [ 12. 14. The SRT version looks pretty sweet.
  15. You're all wrong. It's a Suzuki Forenza. http://www.suzukiauto.com/images/backgrounds/forenza.jpg
  16. There can never be enough V8 RX7's.
  17. It's probably the kid I met down on High St one night. I'm not a fan of the hood. (Wanna be EVO hoods are gay) The kid was running ~13psi and blew his stock engine. Instead of buying a junkyard engine, forged rods and pistons so it would be safe to boost that high he spent $4k on another stock engine from the dealer. When I met him he was running stock boost because he was afraid to blow again. He's lucky if he has 190whp.
  18. If the body was straight you guys suck big time. That sounds like the perfect candidate for a V8.
  19. Cobalt SS is rated at 205hp I beleive. Although GM had the manual out on how to modify the EcoTech and you can get 280hp out of it fairly easily. I've only seen 2 on the road (one in Detroit and one in Columbus) so there aren't that many out yet. As opposed to SRT-4's which I see everywhere. There are some Mazda's and Nissan's out there that are fun to drive. Just depends on reliabiliy when modified. (More of an issue with Mazda's then Nissan) It sounded like you were tight on cash though so I didn't know you were interested in a new car or a more expensive used one. With money anything can be fast. There's a 487whp Protege in Cali right now, for example. The problem is, when you start upping the power on economy cars things start breaking fast, like transmissions. I can only assume the same would be true with your Probe. Do something you will be happy with and research your mods well before buying. As I said before, I've only seen 2 probes that I thought were tastefully modded. Every other one has been riced out. Hopefully you're trying to fall in the first category...although I'm not a fan of the hood scoop.
  20. wow. I would have never guessed that right.
  21. The only problem is this kid sounds about 16 years old and any of those cars will rape him on insurence.
  22. Bump so Brian sees it. And Byran, just so you know, I only know of 2 other people on this board that have Mazdaspeed Proteges. 'BillB' (a friend I used to work with that doesn't post and rarely reads the board anymore) and 'Azn6er' (a regular on the Mazda Forum that only has a few posts on here...not sure if he ever reads CR anymore). So I'm your only hope. haha
