After seeing 100's of them per day for the last few months, I have to say that it grows on you. I actually don't mind the looks anymore and I think the Trailhawk looks pretty nice. I will say that the lower/cheaper models look pretty plain with the cheap bumpers and wheels though. The early reviews are coming in pretty positive too, and it's a very capable off-roader.

In all fairness, he does a much better job speaking about the car here and doesn't sound like as big of a douche canoe as before. I hate the Stig references though, and I hope Top Gear sues him for it. The exhaust still looks like shit, it sounds like a 2-stroke, and it won't make 2000 HP.

Shouldn't you compare an S65AMG to an RS8? Anyway, an S8 will not drive me around in traffic while I sit back and get a massage, nor will it scan the road surface ahead and adjust my suspension before hitting a bump, or protect my rear seat passengers with airbags in the seat belts. It does have some trick, GPS-fused headless though...which probably won't be available in the US. And I don't need the AMG to get those features.

Far more advanced safety features and driver assistance systems. It's the first car to launch with Traffic Jam Assist (the car drives itself), predictive adaptive suspension using stereovision, night vision with animal detection, etc..... It also has Surround View (the 360 deg overhead camera also seen on the RR. To me, the amount of technology they have integrated into that car is far more impressive than a fiberoptic lit headliner, but I do understand the attention to detail and craftsmanship that goes into a RR.

I think for that kind of money I would buy 3 or 4 new Merc S-classes. Sure the GPS-fused transmission is neat, but the technology in the S-class is far more impressive. Sure, the 300 is no RR, but it's a solid car for the money.

When I was in French Polynesia, I woke up one morning and found an octopus on the reef below our room. I watched him for probably 10 minutes and it was amazing how quickly he could change color and texture to resemble the surroundings. If I took my eyes off him for a few seconds it would take me a while to find him again.

Even though it idles I'm still LOLing because he converted his car to RWD to make ~1200 HP, in the same amount of time (or longer) as the Russian's took to build a ~2400 HP S7 and convert it to AWD.

Any idea what type of transaxle was used? How the hell do you convert a S7 to AWD!?

I actually came here to post this as well, and this is how we just bought our new house.

The thing is, you have no way to prove that they would not sell at the listed price had someone not bid higher. Still, it's a typical way for people to price a home. You can list a home at whatever you want, and you're not required to take an offer, it's a private transaction not retail sales. Pricing below market value brings in all types of buyers, who think they're getting a steal and fall in love with the home. This can result in a bidding war, and actually can net a higher sale price than if they priced it at market value.

She's the most famous automotive spy photographer, and probably started the entire spy photography business. Everyone else that you see has followed her lead, although she is very respectful when trying to get her spy shots, as opposed to some others that will run you off the road to get a shot. She's also an activist for ALS and does fundraisers. Some car makers have even donated items to her for charity auctions. I've never met her personally, although some coworkers have and they've never said a bad thing about her. She's a well-respected person in the industry and probably has some interesting stories to tell. Where ever she goes she always posts pics of cars she sees at cruise-ins, shows, meets, etc. She genuinely enjoys cars and, for lack of a better term, the thrill of the chase.

She posted on her FB that she will be in Columbus on Sat/Sun and is looking for car gatherings. Post up invites on her page, CC&C came to mind.

GM used to put a bunch of stuff out there too. That same year they had a widebody GTO with a rough idle and an Aztek with a C5R retrain in it. This year I expect there will be a ton of C7 Vettes around.

Nice looking Patriot. This is a 2012, so it has all the interior and exterior updates that make it a lot better than the pre-2011 cars. This could be a nice daily for someone.

Park on a side street in a neighborhood somewhere around 12-13 Mile Rd and walk up and down Woodward. Karacho - You always have a mix of new stuff, things that shouldn't be there, and abortion activists, but you will also see a very wide variety of classics, muscle cars, hot rods, exotics, and modern sports cars.

It crept up on me this year, and I can't make it down there, but it's worth the trip for anyone that likes cars. The main day of the cruise is Saturday, but it will be busy from now until late afternoon on Sunday.
