  1. Thanks for the recommendation... she does like those a lot- just need to sell this one first!
  2. Thanks! Yes, as mentioned it does have slight cosmetic upgrades,- headlights are black, it has been debadged in the rear but still have the factory badging... in addition wheel center caps have been exchanged with black ones, it has black acura valve stem caps, and the front floor mats are black factory all season "RSX" mats to match the factory rear hatch all season "RSX" cover and factory McGard wheel locks that came as dealer installed options.
  3. Was just on the news... the guys name is casey something, he and his two kids- it looks like they ripped off some pictures from the autox website posted in this thread as the pictures looked VERY familiar when I just saw it 5 minutes ago.
  4. Just curious? Why would a drug dealer want a big spoiler on the back? As a shelf to lay out the merchandise?
  5. It's not spinning the stock tires so I dont see how changing that would help without more power somehow or a better launch and about the only way we can launch harder is to rev it up in park or neutral and put it in drive which my dad is not a big fan of- unless there is another way to "stall" the factory converter. I am wondering if "torque management" is shutting it down unnoticeably to us off the line as I don't know how it hooks soo hard on these tires. I will look into aftermarket stalls and tune on corvetteforum. As far as how fast he wants to go- who knows- it just feels like there is a lot more in it right now we just cant launch it harder. Also vette mag claims they got a 12.3 in a 2010 grand sport with the exact same engine/trans/gearing he has... we thought about a line lock but holding it as hard as we can with the left foot should be about the same right? What does a trans brake do? Thanks, Andrew
  6. Hey all, First time at the track with my dad's 08 C6 Coupe. It is bone stock other than a wireless switch for the NPP exhaust. He has an A6 with performance rear gear option (I think 2.73) and factory runflat tires at 40-42 front and 25-27 rear (hot)... almost 5000 miles. We ran it 14 times with a MPH range of 110.5 to 114.17 and ET range of 12.649 to 13.391. 60' range of 1.927 to 2.372 (traction control on for latter) Most runs were with traction control off, letting transmission shift itself, sport mode, we varied launch rpm. The traction this car gets on street tires is AMAZING. We were brake launching it at 1400-1500 and it would either dead hook or spin very briefly then pull like a monster. If we left off idle we got some sort of a bog feeling after a light tire spin before the power kicked in... Is this torque management at work? It also seemed like it did this boggy feeling more after a few runs and the car got "heat soaked"? We couldn't figure out how to rig the fans like my c5z and didn't have any ice- coolant temps ranged from 203-223.. Here is the best run: 60': 2.082 330: 5.530 1/8: 8.301 MPH: 88.63 1000: 10.668 1/4: 12.649 MPH: 114.17 What do you think we can do better? Thoughts? Modification recommendations? I am thinking stall converter to get more rpm off the line without rolling but don't really want to kill the gas mileage.
  7. sorry dude... that sux. Now you will probably carry all sorts of tools/lug keys/hammers etc for the rest of your life to prevent this sort of thing from happening again and then if it does as murphys law will prove- the one thing you left out will be the essential piece to the puzzle.
  8. http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/ever-use-a-clay-bar/1646/page1/ and http://www.detroitcraftmafia.com/38/can-i-use-craft-clay-as-clay-bar
  9. I read that walmart modeling clay is exactly the same as detailing clay. Apparently it was checked with a mass spectrometer for composition.... I will see if I can find the thread. I have been using zaino from buckeye nissan in hilliard which they have in stock but once its gone I am going to walmart and I just used the last bar last weekend...
  10. That looks like a really sweet bike at a great price?? Why is the wheel purple? Barney the dinosaur edition originally? ;-) Is the title salvage? Good luck- I tell my wife I will buy one when I am in my 70s or 80s... she thinks I am joking.
  11. be careful with the scavenger hunt- I did that with my wife and she left me out in the fricking cold for hours at the last stop before we were going to go out of town... I was sooo sick as I didn't dress appropriately for being out there for hours, I expected 15 minutes but didn't want to leave to call as I was afraid I would miss her (no cell phone then) ;-) Good luck!
  12. thanks for asking... as far as trade... the cars we are considering to replace this one with... 06+ Acura TL, 06+ Acura RL, Lincoln LS, Volvo S60R, maybe Mazdaspeed 6 or cars along those lines....
  13. Hey all, Up for sale is my wife's 2004 Premium White Pearl Acura RSX Type S. We have had it since new and have never smoked or had any pets in it. As I have not been permitted to touch it beyond maintenance and slight cosmetic upgrades it is completely unmolested and stock. The only reason we are selling it is that it has become too small for us now that our son has been born and are looking to upgrade to a foor door. I am tempted to keep it as a commuter as it has been such a great car for us but we already have one car out in the driveway. The majority of the mileage (130,XXX) is highway as for a period of 3 years she drove it daily from Cincinnati to Dayton and then Columbus to Dayton after we moved while she was attending law school. This car handles really well and has v8 like power between 6 and 8,000 RPM (seriously). It even gets good gas mileage to boot- we will very likely miss this car... Questions? $8600.00 OBO http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj162/hpfiend/RSX-S/RSX1sm.jpg http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj162/hpfiend/RSX-S/rsx6sm.jpg http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj162/hpfiend/RSX-S/rsx10sm.jpg http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj162/hpfiend/RSX-S/rsx16sm.jpg http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj162/hpfiend/RSX-S/rsx20sm.jpg http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj162/hpfiend/RSX-S/rsx28sm.jpg More Pics at: http://s272.photobucket.com/albums/jj162/hpfiend/RSX-S/?start=all
  14. well my dad and I carried it in the house after we transported it from his house and it was very heavy. Felt like 2-300 lbs. I will post a picture... here. http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj162/hpfiend/3nc3kf3p15Z55W35X2a5i665b8f9dcf0b1d.jpg It is solid.
  15. Hey all- This is a great working 70" TV. It is rear projection and analog so it requires a converter box. I like the big picture but the wife thinks it is too big for our living room and is sick of looking at it so it will go. Probably perfect for a basement or rec room to watch sporting events on. Laters, Andrew
  16. sweet- think it needs some new/stronger motor mounts though...
  17. About time toyota did something remotely performance oriented again- The IS-F isn't that shabby either. Anyone know what the stroke length is to rev from idle to 9000 some rpm in under half a second? The 911 3.2 and 5.0 mustang have a 3" stroke fwiw IIRC. I wonder if yamaha should market exhaust systems for other cars... I am sure that short stroke more than helps though as the 911 and 5.0 are also renowned for their sounds.... what is the stroke on the nissan 3.5/3.7?
  18. Does this mean it runs again?
  19. nice uprade... fwiw BFG KDWS's are some of the noisiest tires I have ever heard but they do perform well. They were on my 5.0 mustang which had decently loud exhaust so it didn't matter but I put them on my wife's rsx-s and they howl like a wolf below 50 mph.
  20. Hey all- Just had a new set of Nitto NT05 tires installed and a four-wheel custom alignment performed on my 03 Z06 yesterday. Derek, Andy, and John were top notch guys and they even let me sit in the car while the alignment was performed so it would be ideal for my weight/position. The true mark of their incredible service however is the fact that I also had my almost 12 month old son trapped with me in the car where he proceeded to jump around, scream, cry, grab the steering wheel as they tried to turn the wheels, and even honk the horn once (no joke)- I ultimately put him in his car seat yet the screaming continued- not much reasoning you can do with an infant in case you don't have one btw- I was mortified but Derek seemed unphased even though he had previously had gotten little sleep the night before as a result of his infant's crying. I am not sure I would have had such a poker face ;-)... My wife couldn't show up to relieve us until he was about done.... So in short- great service, great price (esp. considering how much tires cost for this car), tires look bad a$$, and the car handles great (better turn-in/road-feel,communication) Not to mention I can actually use first gear now.... A+ I will be back!
