  1. how much power can the t56 handle under powershifting when built by rpm/tick/whoever? I guess the place to ask this best is here... http://www.umtrdragrace.com/title.html I would love to know the answer- been meaning to join over there just been to busy lately to look into it...
  2. 4g63t- whatever that is (DSM engine?), can support 30 psi reliably in factory trim? Have the heads been o-ringed and studded? Sounds neat! In for pics... sleeper sounding.
  3. Sold! Mods please lock it up.
  4. Damn- that makes me want one as well! I know what I am buying when my explorer dies. I wonder how many transmissions they have been through.
  5. employer paid plan? If you aren't paying the premiums they are.
  6. I also drove a 435 hp supercharged, lopey cam, rwd 5.0 mustang for 4 years year round daily in ohio.... I managed as well- but 4wd is worth it! You will understand once you have one..
  7. awesome! congrats! Did you get some $$ to go with that trophy?
  8. Depends on where you drive... I use my 4wd all the time - in Ohio. My parents were out of town during the major snow we had last year- I went to their place to feed the dog daily and my explorer drove through over a foot of snow uphill with no problem! I love it! My sister's awd lexus got stuck so I pulled her out, pulled my wife's fwd car out numerous times, and convinced my brother in law to buy a 4wd explorer as well. When you get in some wet grass to pull that trailer out you will wish you had it! At the very least make sure if it is 2wd you have a limited slip differential.
  9. That wouldn't have even covered your deductible unless you pay a lot in premiums.
  10. and you are saying this as there is not an 11.50 index available to you?
  11. how are you going to get it to the event? I like the looks of the firewall! You did that beading to cut the noise down? Do you know what the shear strength of that aluminum is god forbid if the rear-engine/transmission should come loose in an altercation? What does the porsche 911/914/mr2/fiero/corvair have for firewall material?
  12. welcome! my wife's friend has a jetta vr6 I have done some work on- very fun car... I wouldn't mind having one to play with
  13. uhhh - easier said then done unless you have a no-torque 4 banger on drag radials that doesn't make over 200 to the wheels until 4500 rpm. And 30-100 mph rolls are not drag racing at any track I am aware of.
  14. Just kicking around ideas for my c5 z06. A blower setup installed and tuned with injectors etc is less than the price of a turbo kit alone. As I am at the limits of traction now with only around 360 to the tires I can't imagine what it would be like to try to drive with 5-600 to the tires - hence why I want to limit the boost.
  15. starting to look that way but I think it is brackets only the more I read. NMCA/NMRA looks to be the best.
  16. I have that right now with my c5 z06 and brackets are boring. I won more than once in my firebird back in HS- no money and letting off is gay.
  17. I doubt it if you figure how much money you have in your car if you can win and if you do noone else will race you again especially for money. I guess if you are racing a bunch of hondas like fast and the furious not so much but when I used to do it it was in the south where it is nice year round and there were some serious rides out there late at night.
  18. Wow I am glad I posted this- UMTR is even local somewhat and I like the requirement for manual trannys... matt I know I have thought about the index deal but most of the tracks I am aware of only have 9 second and lower indexes and the fastest I have ever been is low 12s- I could have been 11s in the mustang if I would have worked at it but def not low 11s. Why only a chevy in nmca?
  19. you sir are the man- I didn't know about the nmca... thanks!
  20. As long as the wastegate is before the MAF sensor correct?
