  1. EDIT: saw you were looking for something NEWer. I would not buy an 06 explorer as that was the first model year and there were some teething issues... I would buy an 03-05 or 08-10. Well this all depends if you want and SUV to be rugged and to be able to haul something as they were originally designed of if you are looking at a vw beetle, honda accord or toyota camry with a lift kit. If you are just looking to move people you can't go wrong with a honda odyssey minivan.
  2. I say if you go through the hassle of taking off your headers and turbo, risking exhaust leaks, busted knuckles, down-time on the car, and take the time to do pictures/tech support the guy should at least give you a set of headers for your blazer or a back-up set for the s10 should your existing headers rust out/crack... If it were my performance parts company I would not think that would be unreasonable as his alternative is to buy an S10 and swap a v8 in it or at least another one if he is checking for production variance in motor mounts or something but that's just me- I guess I am not as nice.
  3. Well thats def- original! I wish my wife picked out her own christmas presents!- Question on topic- is that like an ar-15 for shooting varmints or what would you use it for? Good luck!
  4. What about pulling down the boot a bit and seeing if there is a set screw? I know the factory knob has a small cap in the top that has a metal t-bar called the "demon key" affectionately on corvette forums that allows it to turn just a bit but not off like you describe... that b@stard is hard to get out. I put a c6 z06 knob and shifter in mine and love it!
  5. you bought that as a gift for your wife?
  6. Where else do they have index racing with payouts? Anywhere relatively local to columbus and you don't have to have a personal bodyguard to go collect from? 8.90s is too wild for me and my current ride but somewhere from 11.90-12.50 would be cool. I don't like bracket racing and I def don't like going out and trying to break stuff for a trophy. I already have one from trails. Heads-up non index is just a money race. I am sure others are in the same boat out there. I would be interested in actually building a car for a 10.50-10.90 index as well.
  7. My 99 v6 exploder has 135K miles on it and runs awesome *knock on wood*!
  8. A house cat would have eaten him by then.
  9. It was me- I just turned on the flux capacitor.
  10. d00d I bought a set of these, with hubs, front and rear calipers/rotors and shields off a 95 v6 mustang at a junkyard off of Parsons ave for 170.00. Better to buy them local as while there are a lot of deals out there off the interweb it is not hard to bend one in shipping and you will be pulling your hair out trying to figure out a handling issue before you figure out what is the problem...

Couple of things- 1. Why is that guy wearing sunglasses and no helmet nor proper race attire on a race track at speed? Makes spring mountain look bad. 2. Why don't we hear what the chick in the passenger seat has to say? 3. That looks like a standard '08 steering wheel with a bit of extra leather wrap. 4. Way overpriced as others have said and did I hear only 600 some hp out of 8.2 liters? Thats about as sad as the viper.
  13. I have timberland pros and I like them a lot! I think the toe is titanium fwiw
  14. 2004 Honda Civic 2D Coupe EX Mileage: 90,638 Engine: 1.7L Color: Gunmetal gray Features: Power locks, Sunroof, CD player, Rear defroster, ABS brakes, Power Mirrors, Automatic transmission, Power windows, AM/FM stereo, AC, cruise control, Alloy wheels This car has been absolutely trouble-free since new and is in excellent condition. I am listing this for my sister and the only reason they are selling it is because they need something bigger now that their family has grown. Priced at $7900.00 OBO. http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj162/hpfiend/IMG_2427.jpg http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj162/hpfiend/IMG_2429.jpg http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj162/hpfiend/IMG_2430.jpg http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj162/hpfiend/IMG_2431.jpg http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj162/hpfiend/IMG_2433.jpg http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj162/hpfiend/IMG_2434.jpg http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj162/hpfiend/IMG_2436.jpg http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj162/hpfiend/IMG_2439.jpg
  15. I would like to see pics to see which one you have that works as I too am in the market (but the original poster obviously has first dibs) and have been trying to decide between oil filled electric, propane, and infrared. I have a ceramic electric space heater I have been using until now that is more suitable for a bathroom or closet over a 2 car garage. Mine is around 400 sq ft. 19 x 20 or 20 x 20 or 21 x 20 I can't remember. I know people swear by the kerosene torpedos but I don't want to kill myself or leave the door open.

AJ, Sorry to hear you are selling! In case anyone doesn't know AJ is a c5 c6 corvette certified mechanic and did all of the work on this car himself. I'd be interested in it but I already have one which AJ has worked on! Bump and Good luck!
  17. If it wasn't evident from the links... http://www.ffcobra.com is the forum.
  18. I don't want to rain on your parade man but join the forum and read into it a bit- I am just trying to make sure you know what you are getting into as I looked seriously into this project as well- if you read the following three threads you can see I posted in all of them.... http://www.ffcobra.com/forums/showthread.php?t=86980&page=3 http://www.ffcobra.com/forums/showthread.php?t=88172 http://www.ffcobra.com/forums/showthread.php?t=176941 And after trying to sell a highly modified mustang I found out you will be lucky to recover 1/2 of what you have in it if that and that is after taking a lot of mods off and selling them afterwards. Because of this and the fact that the c5 z06 is a bargain in comparison figuring in the fact that you can drive it to the grocery store and then to the track and actually hear yourself think without that god awful unburnt fuel popping exhaust design... and that if you were to dump that kind of money into a vette it would absolutely own those glorified go carts- I aborted the idea and bought one and have fallen in love with it more every time I have driven it. Don't get me wrong they look awesome and factory five is very good at selling the dream- but there the devil is in the details... That said, if I were to win the lottery however I would do one tomorrow, as well as a modified porsche 996tt, syclone/typhoon, and if bored a locost or scratch built middy like the la bala and then build a garage to hold all of them with a lift in each bay, snap-on tools everywhere, and strippers to bring me beer and tools ;-) I guess I would have to buy something for the wife too but you get the picture... Keep in mind that the price of the c6 z06 has come down a lot lately as well and one of those will outrun an Ls1 gtm easily. EDITED: for rephrasing of same point.
  19. I take it this guy is partial to the LT1?!?
