  1. Are you guys using in-line oilers and dryers? I read oil really affects the power- I just put a few drops in before I use it for the day.
  2. hehe as do I- it was only 12.00 from my neighbor likely the problem- I will try to boost it up and put some safety googles on before I ditch it.
  3. Kevin, thanks! Do you know which model of IR 1/2" you have- BTW those fittings you recommended to me worked sweet- thanks!
  4. I can go up to 120 or 125 psi I cannot remember but the air gun I have currently says do not exceed 90 psi (not sure what would happen). My dad's MAC is an AW223 which supposedly was made by ingersoll rand and it also says 90 psi. Is your gun rated at 150 psi or is that where it works at? Cornwell=Cordell? Anyone have the Ingersoll-Rand 231C? http://www.amazon.com/Ingersoll-Rand-231C-2-Inch-Impact-Wrench/dp/B0002SRM3I/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
  5. Hey all, What type of impact gun are you using in your shop/garage? The more specific the better. I have a compressor rated at 9.0 scfm @ 90 psi and the coleman powermate 1/2" gun I bought used from a widow can't bust loose 100 ft-lb lug nuts (checked with two torque wrenches). My dad has an old MAC 1/2" gun which isn't much better and actually looks a LOT like my coleman. Snap-On lists 600 ft-lbs with 4.5 SCFM usage for about 369 but that is pretty steep and well over my needs. 250-275 ft-lbs should be MORE than enough as that should do a pinion nut w/ crush sleeve and thats the tighest fastener I will probably ever run into. Everything else will be 150 ft-lbs and lower. Thanks, Andrew
  6. All this started after seeing Matts S10 at the track outing.... Nevermind- I am going to try to find an old Blazer/Jimmy and put a similar setup to Matt's with the tub/cage hidden by the SUV hatch.... Laters, Andrew
  7. Hey all- Got a 99 XLT 4.0 V6 4WD explorer. What do you think about swapping in the AWD transfer case and putting twin turbos on it with megasquirt fuel injection? Probably better to start with a 5.0 AWD version and turbo it as I know the engine better but I don't currently have one of those. Anyone know what transmission I have and if it can handle any power? I know the current rear is a 31 spline deal and this car has a factory ball hitch on the back Comments?
  8. How much boost are you running? Anything done to the motor? EDIT: I just realized I am threadjacking- sorry- please PM me.
  9. What's been done to that thing? I saw it run but never got a chance to come find you... thats is a lot of power! EDIT: I just realized I am threadjacking- sorry- please PM me.
  10. Oh that was you, cool thanks- good to meet you! Hey what do you have done to that audi? It is fast! EDIT: I just realized I am threadjacking- sorry- please PM me.
  11. First time at track for both my 2003 z06 and father's 2008 coupe both bone stock on street tires. His best: 12.649 @ 114.17 2.082 60' My best: 13.240 @ 111.72 2.402 60'
  12. Thanks for organizing and congratulations!!! My dad and I had a great time!
  13. Rob, at this point I have neither the hose nor the fittings...but thanks I willl let you know if i go that route. Wnaplay, are you talking about the brass barbed fittings with npt threads on the other end? 200 psi, really? hmmm... that IS a much cheaper option... compression fittings for which pvc? copper tubing? nylon tubing? Speaking of which has anyone ever thought of making an auxiliary tank out of schedule 40 pvc? The burst pressure is like 450-600 psi? I wonder if they have that capacity with glued fittings? Just thinking out loud here- if in a garage or attic the uv radiation shouldn't deteriorate it as badly as if it were outside.
  14. I would like rubber or silicone hose with crimped fittings that I can thread into quick connectors or my reel. Hydraulic lines meet these standards as you can get fittings with npt thread on them crimped on but those lines are too rich for my blood. This is for a 125 psi home air compressor only. Thanks!
  15. Hey all, Anyone know who has the crimper required to make up custom air lines? NAPA wants a fortune to make up hydraulic lines for the same purpose. I need a 10.5' hose and a 3' hose to set up my garage air supply- both 3/8" with npt threaded ends. Thanks, Andrew
  16. Great! Out of curiosity where is your co-op? I assume we are talking about the applied mechanics side of mechanical engineering?
  17. 700.00 FIRM. I have not yet listed them on ebay but plan to this weekend as our new son and work have been taking all of my time.
  18. Awesome- I would love to talk with this person! Would you mind sharing his contact info on pm?
  19. Hey all, I compiled a list of things that really get the blood flowing for me and thought I would throw this out there and see if anyone has any insight that may be in a related industry... Prototyping new ideas/concepts Product development Do it yourself James Bond's "Q" Batman's Lucius Fox Robert Downey Jr as "Ironman" Formula SAE competition Grassroots Motorsports 2009 Challenge Factory Five Racing Welding Mill Lathe CNC General metal fabrication Thanks in advance!
  20. last bump before they hit the auction site
  21. After my experience with the nikon P&S as compared to the elph P&S I had previously, I wouldn't touch another one of their cameras- no offense. I checked the website and did not see it- does that include the 15-75mm lens? I was going to go with an online vendor for a new XS with 15-75mm lens with bag, 2gb card, and uv filter for 604.00 to my door. But then I wondered if a lot of people were in the same boat as me previously buying these thinking they NEEDED a dslr and were trying to recover some of their cash for a camera they didn't use that much. Thanks for the replies. I will keep an eye out on craigslist. Cord on 5th has a used 1D Mk2 for 1049.00 body only if anyone is looking. Laters, Andrew
