  1. I am trying to do my homework before I get started so we could make arrangements. If the SCCA says that I have to weld the nuts to the frame rail like the 99+ cars have them then my guess is that it would not be able to be done with the IRS unit in the car. If the strip idea is allowed then I would probably be able to either bring some measurements or drive the car to you. The earliest I would possibly be doing this though would probably be late November.
  2. Weld the nut to a strip of heavy gauge metal long enough to span the distance between the holes. Position the nut and then weld the strip to the frame through the other hole or plug weld the hole in the frame with the strip.

Would you be interested in doing this? I will find out what my options are when the SCCA tech. department gets back to me. If it weren't for the rules I would just drill right up through the frame rail into the trunk and put the backing nut in there. There are two holes in question on each side so I was thinking that I could weld the two nuts to the strip and then fish it up in there and be done with it, so I will see what they say.

  3. ...on my 1997 F150 and holy shit did it make a difference. I used electrical cleaner spray with care. It used to detonate going up hills and now it doesn't. Acceleration is more smooth and more responsive. It doesn't kick down as much with the cruise on. I am interested to see what the fuel economy is like. I definitely recommend that anyone with MAF do this. Especially if you use a K&N.
  4. My brother has a 99 Cobra convertible (mint condition with 15K miles). He has mentioned before that he'd want to swap for a solid axle. He has signed up for this forum, but can't see any threads or post anything yet (username will be "Dingleweed".) I'll check with him, but he is out of town for a week.

    PM received will respond :)

  5. I posted this a couple months ago but the original seems to have been lost. Anyways, I would like to trade my 8.8 solid axle for a Cobra IRS. The axle is a 97 Cobra with FRPP 4.10s installed with a new traction-loc. The gears probably have 2000 miles on them. I had the cover off a while back and everything looked perfect. There is no whine and no leaks. I am now getting more serious about this swap as my autocross season concludes at the end of October. If I don't find anyone to trade with and I buy an IRS unit the solid axle will then be for sale. If interested PM or email me: wk223000 at yahoo dot com. I would prefer an 03-04 unit as it has the 3.55 gears I need but will consider a 99 or 01 unit.
  6. We got out-played guys plain and simple. Can you expect to win a game when you give the other team the ball on our 3 fucking yard line? You can't ask any more out of the defense. But the offense really hurts my feelings.
  7. There is a fox-body that runs autocross locally with Griggs K-member, coilovers, torque arm, and watts link that is fast as hell. I rode with him once and the car is planted. The k-member raises the mounting point of the control arms thus lowering the CG without lowering the roll center. Plus it cuts tons of weight. Check out http://www.corner-carvers.com and do searches for Griggs and k-members and you will get a wealth of info.
  8. When I was there the Casino had the best exchange rate, but it was also the best way to lose money. I talked to several "business" types who went to the Casinao for the purpose of exchanging money and after 10 hours of blackjack were still there, no joke. This was before the huge Texas Hold'em craze so it is probably even worse.
  9. Regular radio sucks and I hate commercials. Opie and Anthony (XM) totally kills Stern and every other radio show. I got a library card and now I just get CDs from them, keep them for a month (if I like them), and go get more. But if I wanted to spend the money I would get XM.
  10. The 2nb night we drove deeper into windsor and stayed at the ABC Motel. It was $40 Canadian a night, and suprisingly not too ghetto. We walked to an AWESOME sportsbar that had like 6 pool tables and a really nice lodge/wood cabin like atmoshpere. And drinks were cheap. I was getting tall beers (local canadian brewery, don't remember the name of the beer) for $2.50 canadian.

I think I went to that same place and pretty much did the same thing.

Edit: Oh yeah, Peppers is good too. We went there for lunch after we arrived in windsor. Good food, reasonable drinks.

Been there too, not bad, but can get kind of sausage festish, kind of like the whole damn town.

  11. I stayed at a Hotel on the strip that had a built in parking garage on my 19th. I think it was a Red Roof Inn. We went to Club Extasy which was a purple place and the bouncer looked like Mr. Perfect. He asked me what day it was and I told him it was March 19th and he scratched his head and was like "Yeah you can come in then." There is an awesome steak place called something like "Ye Olde Tavern" or something. During the days go to the off-strip places to get good beer for cheaper, then go to the places on the strip when you have a good base started. And don't be stupid and say "eh?" all the time because it is a good way to get jumped and/or look like dumb Americans and not get laid.
  12. what the hell neck line are you talking about? One tiny little imperfection and everybody calls it fake? I still think it's real.. you photochop! monkeys are annoying.

Look right above the necklace. Although I have seen girls that wear a shit-load of make-up and where the make-up ends it looked like that. I don't know about this one.
