I just ran across this local band. As most of you know, I greatly enjoy local bands. I'll go to shows just to support the local music scene, even if it isn't a style of music I particularly like. However, what the fuck are these guys thinking?

Yeah but there is a way hot chick that is one of their "buddies".

  2. Looks good, sometime post a pic of the blue one because I want to see how those wheels look on it. The look good from my view. I might get a set eventually for track tires.

Anyways, hijack over, with any stang check to make sure the torque boxes aren't torn to shit on the rear. Excessive end play on the rear axles can mean worn traction loc, excessive end play on a low milage car *can* mean a rough life.

  3. Sweet clue us in over at the passing lane or PM, I am interested in a custom intake for B-heads. We need to watch out about posting this stuff here or we will get internet raped to teach us a lesson for spamming the classifieds.

That's either really noble or funny or both depending how serious you were. I will say this, I learned my lesson on bull-shitting in the classified section.
  6. A half ton extended cab standard bed (used to be known as a short bed aka 6 3/4') 4 wheel drive pickup will go a long way. I love my F150. The need for a 3/4 ton depends on how much you need to tow. My truck drives great, has excellent visibility, and I don't have to worry about hauling fire-wood or a new piece of furniture that my woman decides to buy. Now if gas milage is an issue think about something else, I got 16 MPG calculated today for a week of city driving, not bad for what it is, but not great compared to the entire industry. If you need that utilitarian-ness, maybe some wagon, but I wouldn't tow very much without a pickup.
  7. For the first page-and-a-quarter every single person listed a different car. So I asked the expert. Right now she drives a 94 Corolla she said this, "it runs well...I feel like I can drive it reliably." But the bottom line is she would like something else, FWIW I changed the starter a while back...not cool. So I asked her what she wanted in a car. She said something cool, sexy, a black or a silver, a little sporty. So the moral, at my age a car is a big-time investment. If I (or my old lady) am going to drop the dough, we want to be proud to be in it. So there has to be some comprimise, something safe but sporty. She doesn't need to have the most powerful car on the road. I could see her in a volvo. One of the safest cars on the road, some are a little sporty, classy looks etc. But my woman may not be the same as yours, find out what she wants and make a comprimise. This has to be a car that you wouldn't mind driving occassionally, I really dislike driving the Corolla, so I probably wouldn't want to get another, but our tastes overlap enough that we can find her a match.
  8. I am actually doing the school this year and the way I looked at it was that it only costs $45 and chances are I will get twice the runs of a normal event. Since the events cost around $25 it seems like a winning situation to me. Add that to the fact that there will be some instruction there and it seems like a winning situation.

Absolutely, ie. a morning dew and by midmorning you have spots all over where dust settled in the drops and then dried. I will say this, after one of those big air dryers blows my car off, I can dry it with a 12x12 terri cloth towel. I only wish I had my way with what soap and such a drive-through wash used, if I had to guess it is probably stronger since the wash is touch free, meaning since there is mechanical means (besides high pressure water) to remove contaminates, it relies on higher strength detergent. I really need to read up on the dos and the do nots of car washing because you can really remove some shit (like at the bottom of the body just behind the wheels) with this car washing sponge and some soap I have. But there again that mechanical action probably removes wax like my theoretical high detergent drive-through carwash soap

Sure, it looked great right after I did it, but a few weeks later and a few washes.. it looked like I had never even waxed the car. :(

Yeah I can see that, but unfortunately I have little real world experience because my Mustang is not my DD. The time I replied about though my Mustang was my DD because my truck was down, but I don't have repeated tests/results. I will say this though: 1. With one coat from an orbital buffer it lasted two washes, the third wash it was almost gone 2. I am very satisfied with the appearance. One note is that I think a hand application will hold up a little better than a buffer application (subjective). In conclusion, I think that it works fine for my application (where my car seldom sees precipitaion and doesn't get driven daily, but if someone wants their car to look good all the time and it is their daily driver they may want to look at a higher priced option (Zaino etc.) unless they like waxing their car once a week.
  11. Update: Ok I know its been like 3 weeks but I said I would do this. After putting on that first coat of wax I got 3 washes out of it. But after the third wash the bead effect was nearly gone. Now considering that my car spends most of its time in the garage I would figure on waxing after 2 washes with one coat of wax. I put on two coats this time: one with a small buffer and one by hand. The hand application was very thorough so I would guess only improvement. Also I actually read what comes with those touchless washes and, at least where I go, it seems like the middle wash is the way to go. The high grade has a "triple super polish", yeah, I think I will pass. What I need now is a good polish or clear coat cleaner.
