  1. BTW the figure of $70k was thrown around. Which could all be heresay. I guess I am not within the Corvette loop as much these days. I'm sure some of the Corvette guys here know most of the details.

But I will say this: My plan is that in around 4 years I am going to buy a new Mustang to compete in a stock class (especially if they bring out a N/A aluminum block 4V car like the Mach 1). However, with this new 'vette on the horizon that is a little more up in the air. We'll see how classing goes. As of now it looks like the Z06 is going straight to Street Prepared.

  2. I think it looks good and it does have subtle variations from the C6 Z06 I saw the other day, which also had subtle variations from a standard C6, which collectively, makes each pretty distinguishable. I would recognize a new Z06 pretty quick, where as before I would look at each C5 for the short window and brake scoops.
  3. ...at the autocross event Sunday. It was actually a pre-production vehicle and was labled as such by a small sticker on the windshield. The car was brought there by Karen Rafferty, a GM rep., who also drove Danny Popp's Z06 in ASP ladies and kicked ass. Sorry no pics, but if I would have had a computer I would have posted about it asap on sunday.

    Observations:

Sharp, has a scoop on the hood, heat extracters behind the front wheels, brake cooling scoops for the rears. It had 19 inch rims with what appeared to be 14 inch rotors with 4 piston calipers on the front. It had a long rear window but I don't know how it compares to a regular C6. Unfortunately I was working the course while the hood was up.

  4. Hello all. I need a dog travel kennel because we have a new puppy coming in a couple weeks. It needs to be "medium" sized or larger. Nylon or collapsable will do. If anyone has one let me know.

PM or email me at wk223000 at yahoo.com

    Thanks,

    Bill

  5. There is alot of subtle differences between each car. The SS's and WS6's were actually built by SLP. There has been some shake-up in the SCCA here recently because they are thinking about moveing them to F-Stock and all the T/A and Z-28 guys are pissed because it fucks them (due to rim size) and the Mustang guys are pissed because they think the Saleens should get the same treatment (not because they want to race a Saleen but it would help as far as update/backdate for ESP). The main issue is the subtle variations within the SS's and WS6's. Also note that for a short time at least the SS came with a single exhaust in 98. Look for a Firehawk too.
  6. Yeah, what is the track width difference, isn't it like 1.5 inches or so? That is something to think about for anyone interested in the swap. FWIW I saw someone selling new solid axle kits for IRS cars and it came with a 96-98 axle for what they said was "to allow the use of wider tires."
  7. Looks great. The interior looks excellent as well. By the looks of those pics you were about to get dumped on. I've said it once and I'll say it again, those wheels look sweet on that car. Another combo I like is the 96-97 Cobra wheel on foxes. I sold my old ones to Rolla and his 82 GT looked awesome with them.

BTW, what is "Wolfpack Racing" I sort of knew a guy who I think was from New Albany that had a red fox GT when I went to OU. His car had a "Wolfpack Racing" sticker on it.

Nick that car makes me want a fox. I just noticed you did the Bullit Brakes, nice touch.

Yeah that is also where all the high school kids go to do many things. Rosedale Road has a long history of racing and stuff. People have been going out there at least since the 50s. I used to practice my launching at every stop sign on Rosedale road to and from Columbus when I was younger. It is so flat that you can see for miles and 90% of the time no one was in sight. Of course I wouldn't do that shit if someone was around because those roads are also nice places to bicycle. Its a completely different way of living out there in that respect. Around here I don't do any "hot-rodding" on the street.

I may have to make a trip up to "The Pit Bull" (old nickname for Shady Bowl) to check out some of your racing. I think you can still see the old track up over the hill from the pits there. It was a dirt track from at least 50 years ago. They have really cleaned that place up since I was little. I remember when I was like 6 they built a "new" bathroom that was a small pole barn that you walked into to find a place to piss on the wall or floor or whereever.

Where's your test stretch at? Thats my home turf you know. We used to always hit rosedale road but I have been pretty fast on wren, mechanicsburg-catawba, and that road that crosses 187 just past the dairy farm on the bend (BTW where I once lived).
  10. Man that thing looks pretty sweet. It reminisent of older stock cars. I used to go to shady bowl as a kid. It has a long history and has been a rough place at times. I guess one time so many people got mad that they threw beer cans over the fence and the owner pushed them off with a road grader. My grandpa was a full time race car mechanic and his car raced there when stock cars looked kind of like that. That track is what 3/10 mile? I know for a while (if not still) it was the fastest track its size in the country.
