    If you decide to remove them you will probably need a tune because you will lose low end grunt. At any rate, while you are in there clean your secondary valves and if you decide to keep the IMRCs clean the blades. But, like Greg said, go over to corral and do a search and you will find some great write-ups on the issue.

    What exactly are you looking for? From Old Granddad to Jack Single Barrel there is a bourbon/whiskey to fit the bill. Crown is good but I stick with Maker's Mark and Gentleman Jack or Jack Daniels. Coke goes well with a bourbon or whiskey but I think it is a little bit of an insult to a whiskey like Gentleman Jack. I don't have a problem mixing it with ginger ale or sprite/7-up though.

    I read this post and then opened the link to the pic and was like hmm Falken Azenis and then was like wow why did he cut the front of the car off in the pic and then I moved the slider to the right and realized what the pic was actually of. My excuse is that I just woke up.

    I'm glad to see the wheels got put to a good use. You tore the shit out of that cone too. :)

     

    I took a little bit of Mother's polish and tested it on a couple of them and they will definitely clean up. The car looks sweet with them on there, so I have considered using them as my street wheels and use the CR classifieds to find a set of 245s but we will see. I had Wheel Medic fix the crack and straighten another one, they did some good work. I am glad I got them, I always liked the 98s. Another plus is that they weigh like 21.5 pounds which is one of the lightest OE wheels that Mustangs came with.

     

    Right now I drive to events with one in the trunk and 3 in the backseat, but its not uncomfortable.

    Edit: Jason the cone in that picture got off easy. I hit one later that day that flew like 50 feet! I wasn't used to the turn-in with the sticky tires and I coned somewhere around 7 out of 9 runs that weekend.

    Cool. Next event is August 21, then nearly every sunday in September and October.

     

    Have you gotten a welder yet? I have decided which class I am going to run so the springs, struts/shocks, etc. are all top priority but eventually I am going to put subframe connectors on it. The only ones allowed in my class are from a Ford TSB so they have to be put on according to it. I don't know if I am going to put them on for next season or the following though.

    Yes stock suspension. The shocks and struts are pretty much worn out too. This winter I am going to put some heavier springs, shocks/struts, castor-camber plates, and probably some stiffer anti-roll bars to increase the roll stiffness. The car has excessive body roll and understeer so hopefully I can address those issues. The car also tends to get un-settled in fast transition situations like slaloms so I have to tone it down even though it feels like there is plenty of traction left in the tires. Pic #2 is my favorite but you can see that I also hit a cone. The biggest problem with the cones I have had is that I just switched to using race tires and the turn-in is so much quicker that I had trouble hitting cones on slaloms and such.

    How you doing Rolla? I tagged my garage pulling in the evening after pics 1 & 2 and didn't even know it until the next morning when I was airing up the race tires and about flipped. But it turned out ok, I was able to clay bar it all off. One can notice the paint is a little dull by looking close, but it won't be hard to polish out when I get a chance.

    OVR has loaner helmets so all you need is yourself and your car. Just add some air to the tires, make sure it doesn't spew oil, and make sure all the shit is cleaned out and you are good to go. Take your floormats, spare tire, and jack out at the event. When I ran on street tires I would over fill them to like 45 psi on the way to the event and then bleed them down. I ended up running 43 in the front and 32 in the rear after much experimentation.

     

    On the subject of engine temp: I make sure my car is up to temp before my first run. I used to come in and pop my hood and let my engine run until the fan kicked off but now I just leave it running while I am on the grid. I just open my hood between runs. By just feeling my MAF with it seems like this is the best way to minimize the inevitable heat soak.

    Yeah I always see the same 2 or 3 which are cars that are apparently daily driven. Out of all the various versions, the 99/01s are the ones I've seen the least of.

I would be cool if someone was like "You know what, I like the looks of the snakes so I decided to put them on my car." Instead of "Oh this is the new Cobra its a special edition." Like I said before, people don't have to lie, its cool enough that they have a new Mustang.

     

    Here, I will even fess up, I like the looks of the Cobra grille emblem, so I got one for my car.

    Yeah I noticed that too. What are xenons anyways? If I were that guy I would have said but the EVOs and STis have 4wd and are smaller so obviously this isn't supposed to be in the same class.

     

    I like the car but it needs to go on a diet.

     

    But here is what I hate: people who have 05 GTs and have Cobras and shit stuck on them, and its even worse when they have one of the Cobras on backwards. I just want to be like "Hey 'dude' you do realize that the new Cobra doesn't come out until '07 right? And if you are going to fake it at least take the old GT emblems off and put the Cobras in the right direction. They haven't had a backwards Cobra since 93."
