Brian, Sorry to hear about your loss, you and your family are in my prayers.

Are you still in sales? Concerning the job stuff, my wife is in process of starting her own law firm. She has been working with the same lawyer for the past 18 years and is ready to move on. Her boss will be retiring in the next couple of years, so it is the right time for her to start her firm. I am very excited and in process of buying a new house/property to convert into her office. I will be her landlord ! I understand the hardwork. My father and I started many companies together and it takes hard work and some luck. In my view, my past businesses were very successful. I was able to set my own hours and am very good money. I was able to run my businesses and still worked full time at another company. Yes, I worked 60 to 80 hours a week, but the accomplishments I was rewarded was worth the time. Today, I dont have the desire to be working this many hours. I am happy at my present full time job and have kids and a family. I enjoy my free time will the kids and I still do some side work for extra cash, but not like the earlier days. I will be helping my wife to move forward on her career path and hopefully it will be as fun and rewarding for her.

I disagree, my used Challenger lift is made better than a lot of these new lifts. A few years ago I had 8 used lifts for sale and were built better than a lot of these new ones. The older Challenger, Rotary and Benwil lifts are still good lifts for the money.

I agree, it takes money to make money. My friends and family that own their own business, bust their asses to get there. It take a lot of time, money and knowledge to make a successful business. Anyone(production worker, college grad, high school drop out, like my business idol Richard Branson) can start a business, however, to make the business successful takes hard work. Most of today's wealthy class(at least my my area, New Albany, Galena) are self employed. Most CEOs dont have any real control of the business, the board of directors own them. It is true that Richard W makes some coin, but he has a huge responsibility to turn GM around. I dont agree on the huge severance packages that the CEOs or other high directors get if they fail. That is another topic in itself. If a person is willing to take a risk with their resources and create a successful business, I see no problem with them earning more than the average person. I can tell you now, it is costing my wife and I a lot more than $5K to start her law firm.

I would like to say to be thankful for everything you all have, and be thankful for your good health. It has been a tough week and haven’t been able to keep track of the days this week. I went to the game at Ann Arbor and what a game is was. I had a wonderful weekend, watching OSU, enjoying my birthday, enjoying my father's birthday. I received a call Sunday night and didn't take it because it was late, on my mobile phone and I didn't recognize the phone number. On Monday, my buddy (Brian) gave me a call and told me his wife had an abnormal growth on one of her ovaries and they were at the OSU-The James. Brian has been one of my best friend for over 20 years. We meet in college and work together today and still have fun when we can get out of our houses. I thought that this was bad, but not too bad. The surgery would take care of this situation. Later Monday morning, I get a call from my friend he informed me the first ‘real’ news. She has ovarian cancer. I didn't take this news too well. It is hard to understand how a 36 year old can have such. His wife has been through a few surgeries in the past five years but nothing due to the “C” word. The good news is the cancer is stage 2, which there is chance things can work out. She will be starting chemotherapy soon. The real kicker is they have two small children, 6 and 3. Be thankful for your family and friends and enjoy the good times with them. Thanks for listening, Rick

Brian, Check out our work webpage, I got an excellent deal from Traverler's. I have the 97 Volvo, Z71 pickup, 92 Mustang 5.0 and 87 vette for under $1200 a year. The only other company that was close was Cincinnati Equitable, which I was with them for 15 years. My classics are on a Hagerty policy. I have not had a speeding ticket in 20 years and havent had an insurance payout in around 7 years(that was a cracked windshield).

cargirl2007, I have been to Rolla's shop and he is a straight up fellow. His shop is a side business which the customer's know going into it. He prices are very reasonable but as a side business his lead time can be longer since he works full time elsewhere. This is the same way I work on my side jobs. That is the decision your friend made, price vs. time. If your friend has a problem with his services, there are a lot of shops that charge near a $100 per hour for labor and they might be the job done a little quicker.

I replaced the cap and rotor today and the car started. It still ran like crap, but this time I noticed the pre cats were glowing red. I spoke to a couple of other mechanics and this is a sign that the front cats are bad/plugged. My next step is talking to Stout's in Delaware about a custom dual exhaust to my existing mufflers or a high flow replacement section for the pre cats.

Sam, 1. Wash the car. 2. Change the oil 3. Put fuel stabilizer it in it 4. Cover it up in the garage 5. Do winter stuff(ski/snowboard, or in your case travel back to the bunnyranch) When spring rolls around again you will be ready to cruise again in something faster than a 4 wheel drive truck.

I got my fuel pressure gauge yesterday and tried to start the car again and it wont start. I hooked up the gauge on the right rail and it showed 40 psi, so it is getting fuel. I pulled out the start plugs, and it has spark. I am running out of ideas. The car has 60000 miles on it and I changed the spark plugs and wires about 3000 miles ago. I didnt change the rotor and cap at that time(and heck it might be the original rotor/cap), so that is the next step. Does anyone have any other ideas?

The car at least now starts. I believe I drained the battery too low and that was part of the problem. I was able to drive it and anything above 2k RPMs, causes misfires/coughs, etc. I am in process of getting a fuel pressure gauge this week and will let you guys now the results. I personally believe it is the fuel pump causing the problems. There is no sensor concerning fuel and still no codes are being reported. You are correct AJ, I believe the C4 vette is the only GM product that I dont have to drop the fuel tank to replace . Thanks, Rick

I wont sand/media blast a whole body of a car, you are going to have distortion on the body panels I have always chemically strip my cars and sand blast to remove rust. If are stripping a frame, sandblasting is the way to go. For an estimate, my shop charges $1 per a minute.

I have been busy for about 2 weeks(in process of purchasing another house), and the 87 vette started running like crap last week. I though it was the catalytic converter was plugged, so I removed it and noticed it was plugged, I then hollowed it out and replaced on the car. the car started and still ran like crap. I unplugged the battery to reset the computer, now it wont even start. I then pulled out the plugs and noticed the plugs are not wet, so I am assuming the fuel filter may need replaced. If the fuel filter doesnt fix it, the fuel pump can be replaced without dropping the tank. The most interesting part is when the catalytic converter was acting plugged, it didnt even throw an error code. Is that normal? If there a code thrown if the fuel pump is about to go out or fuel pressure is low?

My buddy has a 93 emerald green Corrado that he bought new. His has around 60 thousand miles on it and it is still sharp.
