  1. I am at work and couldn't watch. I cannot wait to get home and youtube it. -Marc
  2. Do you have health insurance benefits, matched/unmatched 401k, etc? Having multiple dependents helps I'm sure. What exactly do you do for this company? Per diem being untaxed is awesome; I forgot about that as it has been many years since I have received one . Thanks, Marc
  3. http://online.wsj.com/news/articles/SB10001424052702303789604579197733759439274 So, Obama is backpedaling like a bitch and scrambling to try and retain votes. The main issue that is being overlooked here is that he is not requiring insurance companies that have already issued the cancellation policies to allow those customers to retain their benefits for a year. So, the people that already received notice will still be screwed as they will be kicked off of a less expensive insurance plan since the process has already been started and still be forced to purchase more expensive coverage. Not to mention, they will still be kicked off in a year! Ridiculous. -Marc
  4. Beyond wrong...on so many levels. I cannot fathom how sheeple still love him and the ACA. -Marc
  5. That is exactly what he is 'working on' now. According to reports, he plans on passing additional legislation that will force insurance companies to allow those on current insurance plans to keep them until the end of 2014 even though the current plans are against the new law. How stupid and hypocritical can you fucking be? Just admit you are dumb and fucked up and repeal the stupid thing before it continues to cost multiple billions more and still fails! -Marc
  6. That is take home of around 100k after you figure in tax, insurance, 401k, etc. so roughly $8,333.33 NET per month. Again, this is serious money for manual labor. Being gone and away from your family for 10 months out of the year sucks, but if you're a single guy looking to make a damn good living for awhile this is an awesome opportunity. Sorry you're affraid to work hard? -Marc
  7. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/ap-sources-obama-allow-sale-canceled-plans-162250302--finance.html Looks like Obama is beginning to admit the ACA is nothing but a HUGE failure... -Marc **edit** further reading states that this is a temporary 'fix' that will only last through 2014 and THEN you will officially be kicked off of your current plan. Annnnnd so far, there are no provisions stating that an insurance company must repeal their original cancellation notices so you may still be fucked. Basically this is a pathetic band aid to allow the people that voted this bill to pretend like they are helping just long enough to get re-elected. What a fucking joke.
  8. Hmm...I'm not sure 'paltry' is the correct term. $27 hr X 60hr work week X 52 weeks per year = $84,240.00 $125 per diem X 260 work days (give or take a few depending on the year) = $32,500.00 $84,240 + $32,500 = $116,740.00. Obviously this doesn't take into account you missing any work for vacations or holidays but, $116k per year for manual labor is nothing to sneeze at. This also doesn't take any overtime or bonus into account. Not bad money by any means. Not to mention ND may suck...but it is MUCH closer to world class hiking, camping, skiing etc. -Marc
  9. Makes me want to go buy a gun! Have fun; report back! -Marc
  10. More pictures and a build sheet? That thing looks amazing! -Marc
  11. I also think that sounds like a great idea...but wonder what your cleaning crew will think after a match? -Marc
  12. Compression stockings, new (nice) stethoscope, comfortable tennis shoes (if hospital allows), etc etc. The compression stockings will help with circulation since she will be on her feet for 12 hours at a time. -Marc **edited because I had a Thorne spelling moment.
  13. They all seem to measure a CUYRD a little differently. Ohio Mulch said the weight of a yard of topsoil is only about 750lbs. Jones said the weight of a yard of clay is 1.2-1.4 tons. Either way...that's a ton of dirt to move with a wheelbarrow! -Marc
  14. Important question...are you looking to build a new back-stop for your shooting range? If so, topsoil is not really what you want as it is a 'fluffy' dirt/compost/sand mixture and you would need A LOT...and would probably want to mix in a bunch of stone cylinder block under the dirt. If you want a back-stop, you will really want a clay based 'fill dirt'. A cubic yard of topsoil from Ohio Mulch is about 750 lbs and will cost you $29.99 per cubic yard. They will deliver any number of necessary cubic yard for $49 total...doesn't matter if you want 1 yard or 10 yards. Jones Topsoil has clay they will sell and deliver. This is a much more solid, heavy dirt and much more suited for a shooting back stop. 8 cubic yards (1.2 tons each) will run you ~$238 delivered (to your address ). Their number is 614-443-4611 and be sure you specify you want the clay. Basically, topsoil for planting and clay for shooting. -Marc Edit** for safety, I would still probably mix in cylinder blocks in the clay...
  15. You are the person most of the posts in this thread are targeted at because you don't seem to understand what the ACA is doing to the masses. You think it is a blessing when in fact it truly is going to have serious financial impact on all of us. Just because you don't see it now, doesn't mean it isn't coming. And you defend the ACA blindly. How many first hand experiences do you need from actual healthcare providers that show you all of the negative impacts this is having in the real world until it sinks in? Are you just going to wait for the ridiculous increases in the cost of health care services to bitch, or until your taxes jump to fund it? Or wait until the health services you and your family require become so subpar that you are not effectively treated? Or for the waiting period for said services to be so long that they are beyond unacceptable and you or your family suffers? Or are you going to continue wearing your liberal blinders and chug the Obama kool-aide? You have the ability to opt out of Chase's group healthcare and purchase insurance on your own. Since you love this new system so much, why won't you support it and buy individual health care? You have stated it multiple times that you are well compensated and want to support the less fortunante; put your money where your mouth is. -Marc
  16. Yup. Bill, you just don't get it. As Wagner said, if you support it so much then drop your health care from Chase and buy from the exchange. Put your money where your mouth is. -Marc
  17. That explains a lot. I had my temps the day I was 15.5 and scheduled my drivers test the day I was 16. My parents had been letting me drive in parking lots since I was ~12. Learned to drive stick at the same age. -Marc
  18. Holy shit...that is the exact car I have been looking for! Thanks for the link! -Marc
  19. Ben, I hope you did not think any of my previous posts were directed at you. Personally, I applaud you for chasing your dream and making it work. One of my points is that I wish more people would follow your lead and take ownership of their bills and pay them off. No insurance? Not a problem. Get your treatment, establish a realistic payment plan and pay off your debt. This really shouldn't be that difficult of a concept to grasp yet the system is flooded by people that do the exact opposite, which is a direct and main reason the cost of our countries care is so expensive. You don't need to make it appear that it is only drug addicts that abuse the system. I hear a new, firsthand experience every day about patients that abuse the system and refuse to do anything they are told by the doctor. Because they know they will receive treatment regardless of their payment history or medical history, they will continue to fuck the system and fuck their health. The drug addict stories just make me laugh and wish more and more that they were allowed to be denied treatment. Nothing will get better until our society as a whole stops their feelings of entitlement and takes care of themselves. This all begins with your parents and your upbringing. -Marc
  20. Our wonderful political officials opt themselves out of what they are forcing on everyone else...awesome. -Marc
  21. He doesn't get it, and never will. In Bills eyes, being an idiot > logic. Oh Jesus, now you are compairing yourself to Einstein? :gtfo: -Marc
  22. You are the IDIOT because I never once said I feel you need turned away if you cannot pay cash on the spot. I said that you need to pay your own shit, and quoted you where I said that. Paying your bills on time, over time, constitutes paying your own shit. Get it? You tried to put words in my mouth and were shown where you are wrong. Hence why I will continue to call you an idiot. Idiot. I don't care what you do in IT. You may even be halfway decent at your job. In the debate about and your understanding of healthcare, you are an idiot. You are an idiot because you don't understand what you are arguing. Idiot. -Marc
