  1. If you hit the garage sales, you can usually find someone tired of moving thier Kirby around and get a good deal. The newer ones have a plastic impeller that can get wrecked if you are vaccuming alot of nuts and bolts, older aluminum ones are indestructable. I have a 500 series from the 60s that I belive will never die. It also looks great when you get boored and have some polishing compund laying around..... That said, my dyson is so much easier to push around, and has no issue eating drywall dust and cat hair, and can go up steps without the assistance of a crane.
  2. I havent seen any sort of kit for the wiring harness, but some heat reflective wrap on the harness may help. I still have the stock motor mounts, but the rear has the upgraded bushings, anti hop kit, along with a new diff, and a new driveshaft. When I break shit, I break it properly.
  3. When the power was out over the summer I used a 1500W inverter and used my tractor to to power the inverter. (140A alternator on the tractor) At idle, the big issue became cooling the alternator, as its built in fan was not drawing enough air for the output. This was only pulling ~400w (fridge, freezer, light and radio) Even with a 140A alternator running fill tilt, it would only be able to sustain about 11 amps at 120V with a decent inverter (80% efficent) before you will start to lose battery voltage. That said, it works in a pinch, but I would rather use the 80KW genset in the garage. Also reasonably sure I don not need to worry about someone trying steal the genset if I leave the key in it.
  4. If you start getting the "Engine power reduced" message when you are playing, I would look at this. Mine did not melt, but the heat degraded it enough to become an intermitent pain in the ass. Problem started around 80k by 90k it was taking the fun out of driving. No issues since replacement. http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d117/lustalbert/Cars/HPIM2818.jpg Yep http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d117/lustalbert/HPIM0375.jpg Fun car, mine should hit 100K this month.
  5. http://columbus.craigslist.org/grd/2911534827.html ? As for the truck, rent one from lowes, or ask around on here. I am sure someone would let you borrow a truck if you bring it back with a full tank and a case of beer in the bed.
  6. I am sure there is a navy joke somewhere in the above, but I am unable to put it together as the pic is kinda creeping me out.
